Idk what it is but Raphael in the brown cordeuroy, yellow vest, and tan jacket is such a great look. When you talk about outfits being "harmonious", that is the example I look to. Really really nice outfit
Thank you Preston for the "Fort Belvedere" quality information and visually interesting presentation. As an outtake hater in the last video, I must say this was well done. Bloopers at the end and addressing the bus was appropriate. Loved it!👏
Love you guys on the Gentleman's Gazette. Hoping you all are well. Also love the out takes they are hilarious. You all have a wonderful sense of humor.
I need to wear a tie and button shirt no jeans. I sell new cars (big dealership) and I conceal carry a firearm. I use a variety of sport jacket (sometimes straight from my lighter, "cheaper" work suits (nothing Italian usually) and many shirts, corduroy pants, dress pants... sometimes I suit up all the way or just use the vests from them. I make it MINE with my huge collection of antique buckles (chevy OR GM belt buckles are my favs lol)... I tie my ties using a multitude of knots (see novatnys channel)... and I use many vintage TIETACKS, CLIPS, & CUFFS. THANK YOU!
The recurring theme in these and the smart-casual video guides seems to be that there are very few dress code formalities left any more. I for one regret this, but am grateful to Gentleman’s gazette for keeping the classic apparel flame burning.
Business casual in my field never touches this realm. It would be considered too formal. But hey, I'm happy wearing Denim jackets, well fitted pants, shined boots and being considered "well dressed" at work.
I thought there would be more comments about the appropriateness of the Rolex GMT or Submariner with business casual. Sure, the Datejust works better because of the jubilee bracelet, but many would argue the sub or GMT (not just any dive watch or gmt) work with the level of formality you describe. That JLC is super classy btw.
Out of curiosity, is there a chance you could show the morning and evening routine of a lower class, middle class, and upper class gentleman in the 20th century and how it might be different today? I heard for example people mostly showered or bath weekly before soap! Or the amount of clothes in their closet was lesser and less washed? Curious as to what steps were necessary to be presentable for how much money one made back then and if we today do more or less for the same effect.
Maybe I have only worked in totally different fields or maybe the dress codes here in Germany are much more relaxed but in any office context I have ever worked, even the casual side of these outfits would be vastly overdressed. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love your style but I'd stick out like the proverbial thumb if I wore an outfit like this to work. So I adjust significantly to the casual side. On a different note: would you be willing to do a video about vegan dressing options? I know that leather and wool are excellent materials and I am myself ambivalent on the sustainability of leather, yet it would be cool to look into high quality alternatives. Thanks for your videos!

Although I love wearing cufflinks and bouttonieres I find it very formal to fit in a business casual style. How is your opinion about incorporating a bit of sprezzatura into an business casual outfit to dress it down a bit? (or does it look to sloppy after all?)
What about tie clips? How do you incorporate them into your outfits? Aren't they considered to be accessories as well? I'd like to wear them, not just because I like the look, but mainly out of practicality reasons...
I've been working from home for the past year, so dress codes haven't really been on my mind. But my office is opening back up in a few months... thank goodness the Gentleman's Gazette is still around to remind me how to properly dress!
I'm curious about Preston's French Cuff shirts, unlike Raphael's, the cuffs are wider (?) I have two French cuff shirts that are also wider to my wrists. Sure they still form the horseshoe shape. Is it okay to have that size of the cuffs?
i want to dress like you guys, but im a student and from a family wich dosent dress up often, what shuld i do and what did you guys do for a living before the gentlemans gazette? i will become an electrician by the way.

Maybe a bit self-evident to the majority of viewers but perhaps not all. Sports watches are an absolute no go in business casual let alone more formal outfits. The definition of sports watches also includes the more modern smart watches i.m.h.o. They're an absolute no go.
While fascinating, this isn't exactly the most practical advice, except in the most traditional setting. This is regarding the channel as a whole, not this particular video.
@Anthony Suffok actually, australia clings desperately to its colonial past wrt fashion. full suit and tie in cairns even though it's tropical. but i'm not in australia. i'm in the uk. etiquette tip for flags - always fly the nation's flag that you are in on top. try doing the reverse in the usa. they come around with guns to fix it. but it is here in england that i see the fashion changing first. i was gobsmacked when i saw people coming to work in summer in flip flops! the casualisation of the workforce will continue especially now that more will be working from home. suited and booted will mean you're off to a wedding, funeral or a job interview eventually...
Okay that's it. I will ubsubscribe this channel. The german/brasilian man is gone it seems. I can't stand this narrator/presentator. It was a pleasure and an honor gentlemen... But it is time to move on Bye
Mr. Preston, once again, I am once again educated. I thank you for this video.
Preston has a very nice voice! And everyone in the video is so well dressed, as always.

Well, another good video! Now i have to find a place or event to attend to with a casual formal suit haha

Hats! I remember them so well when my Dad wore them to work in NYC early 60's. One of my fondest memories.

3 amigos. Good job.
Wristwatches are about more than formal or casual; wristwatches can say so much: for instance, the Rolie can suggest that the wearer is nouveau riche.

I'd just say stick to the normal metal rules match your metals and make sure you don't have to many accessories
I would also like those something on tie clips and tie tanks.
Would an ascott will be acceptable, or too flamboyant for a business casual?
Not even a mention of a luxury velvet mankini - I'd better rethink my wardrobe 😉
