There's a lot of people here making comments to the effect that James Nesbitt was an unknown actor when he did this, and went on to big things later. But that's not the case. He appeared in these adverts AS a popular celebrity. Everyone knew his name and recognised him from Cold Feet and other things.
Lol Love this ad! Funny to think that Nesbitt is the same guy who played a contemporary descendant of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde in Steven Moffat's BBC mini series; Jekyll.
You know something, when I heard this advert on a compilation video I thought "That guy sounds like Father Dougal, wonder if he's related to the actor who played him?" I didn't know much about James Nesbit, but googling him I realised i'd saw him in a few things. I'm shit with names though.
+richardmoderate He was already well known for Cold Feet in 2003. Given the success he's gone on to have in The Hobbit and various other projects, I doubt Jekyll is much more than a footnote in his career - and in Steven Moffat's for that matter.
It always bothered me that we see Nesbitt say “My sister is outside and I want her to think that you did it” and then it cuts to the sister’s point of view and we see Nesbitt repeat the line
Seriously? Whilst yes u might have a very minor point, sorry but that's pathetic. It's ADVERTISING for Christ sake!! That's institutionalised LYING!! Do you think that meerkats compare insurance quotes, or that Ronald McDonald is real? Jesus H Christ. It's just a funny advert. Ok? Just enjoy it for it's cleverness and humour for gods sake. There's always one spoilsport isn't there? Bet u went round at kindergarten saying Santa wasn't real. Get a life.
@CandyThomson-tg7bt Many thanks for your kind support. Too many mealy mouthed spoilsports around today and I think that this is one of them. It's a bit of clever fun. That's it. But some just HAVE to prove a point!! But to me. No, they don't. Cheers.
I love the old ads that have a little story
Ironically James Nesbits hair has miraculously grown back since this commercial! It’s a miracle!
The hair restoration specialists were very very nice people!

So good that he could use this popular ad as a springboard for his career. Holly valance did a similar thing with R.E.V.E.R.S.E
yup I remember this and I knew who he was, i would've been about 11 at the time and saw him in cold feet
Yea Literally I knew who he was when I saw this
A cash cow for him
He was a household name back then.
YOU’RE VERY VERY NICE PEOPLE!
Thank you 😂😂😂
Me and my dad still talk about this every now and then cause it was just so funny
THIS ADVERT RANDOMLY POPPED INTO MY HEAD!! I KNEW IT EXISTED
I loved James Nesbitt in these adverts.
"So you sort out this TERRIBLE mess for me, and I will pay you DOUBLE!"
Classic.
"YOU'RE VERY VERY NICE PEOPLE...Thank you!"
I do wish there were ads like this now instead of the appalling drivel to which we're now subject. Humour has vanished from the advertising business.
I was in the advert as a extra. Shepperton high st filmed
Some eejit! Loved this series of ads.
This was defiantly one of the funnier Yellow pages ad's.
ffs!
No way was this all the way back in 2003!? Wow, I remember it so well.
Just waiting for the manager to get back and wow is he in trouble… some eijits cut my nieces hair 🤣🤣🤣👏👏
I loved Rab C Nesbitt in these ads.
Is that a joke🤔😏
Hairdresser was lovely.
RIP Yellow Pages
Just about remember this ad. Around about this, I was watching TV less and spending more time on the Internet

He was outstanding and has proved again in The Missing
Who would've thought in 9 years time he would appear as a Dwarf in a high grossing film trilogy :)
Marmike91 is he in the hobbit?
@@LorddexGAMNG he plays Bofur

0:33 the moment that always had me in absolute fits 😂
Old is gold
Back in the days when you had to sit through the ads. These are what you remember. How old is this now - 20 years?
Yes it is, I was a teenager then. Where did all those years go?
and four years later he was Jekyll and became a mega star
+richardmoderate He was already well known for Cold Feet in 2003. Given the success he's gone on to have in The Hobbit and various other projects, I doubt Jekyll is much more than a footnote in his career - and in Steven Moffat's for that matter.
He's hardly a mega star
Just had a go doing the wifes hair..... she asked me how it looked I just pulled up this Advert
I havnt laughed at a James Nesbit performance more since The Missing
"Some idiot cut my niece's hair". :D
Class
Classic!!!
Before his hair weave
I just watched an episode of Grounded for Life where this exact same thing happens, It predates this ad. They totally stole the whole idea. 😂

Jillianne Foot
Can someone tell me what is he saying at 43sec it’s for a school project.
So you sort out this terrible mess for me, and I will pay you double.
He really told her that a giant queen ant from outer had laid eggs in the girl's skull 👸🏽🐜🌠👽👾🤖🛸💀🤯🤪
Claude Akins talk about Adrian Dunbar cancer foundation
could you please transcribe his first sentence? I don´t really understand and I would need to know for my school project.
"Waste of money. I'll have a bash at it myself."
What year was this?
2003.
Fun fact
The niece wasnt paid at all & ratted him out shortly after
Wouldnt the mum have noticed all the hair on the floor?
very very nice 'peop L'
Hilarious!!!
I could remember every advert I watched from 1985-2002…the Sky+ came along. Skip!
That little girl has such a familar face 🤔🤔
I always thought that James Nesbitt is a bit of an arse.
This is the government's position right now with Boris Johnson 40 gone 10 to go 🤣🤣🤣🙌🙌
Lol
It always bothered me that we see Nesbitt say “My sister is outside and I want her to think that you did it” and then it cuts to the sister’s point of view and we see Nesbitt repeat the line
