I am following u to get styles for my almost 2 year old. My baby was BALD AF as well. As soon as I was able to geip.the sides and back, I immediately began cornrow styles and beads, with extensions of course. I have to wait til she is sleepy to even start braiding! I wash, moisturize, and braid and keep it it up for 2 weeks... then repeat. I have been doing this for about 2.5 months now and her hair has grown so much!! Thank you for inspiring women and their little girls!

One of my daughters with the thickest hair used to cry until I started keeping it wet and keeping a shower cap on the part I wasn't sectioning, twisting and prepping. It was a good way to let the leave in settle into her hair. She's not tender headed at all now at 17 and still has a unfair amount of hair.
You did a really good job though. I do NOT miss doing a bunch of heads. I saw you had another one.
I added synthetic hair to my daughters to protect from breakage from the beads too. 2 of my girls hair would break otherwise or frizz up like crazy without it.

I used to just use natural oils for my daughter's hair and her hair was to her waist by the time she was a teenager. Also maintaining a healthy diet is the foundation for their hair and skin.

Beautiful baby! Just wanted to let you know it’s being recommended now in the dermatology field that babies be kept away from added hair until about age 8 since hair follicles aren’t fully developed until then . I actually just learned this the other day while talking to my derm about child hair care so just passing it along.

Aloe works but make sure that you strain it to not have the chunks in the hair. Or you can buy the aloe vera. (Walmart sells a big one that is not too expensive) I didn't use aloe to grow my kid's hair. But so many have positive reviews. I use tea tree oil, peppermint oil, jojoba oil, black castor oil, and carrot oil. And then honey and mango butter as a grease. No petroleum products. Also once a month I do a apple cider vinegar rinse (with mother) and a hair mask after with coconut oil, egg, and vitamin e.
