(Wife speaking presently thru husband's account)... I know im late to the party, but going back thru all ur vids is absolutely relaxing and amazing. Im in love with cast iron cooking and i sincerely aspire to be as creative and confident as you are one day. My husband is loving the small adventures that our dinnertime has become! Thanks for being inspiring and simply so. 💕💕💞
It's hard to watch this video now, because my little Makita died suddenly a few months ago. There is a new pup on the channel that is still being trained.
" we want to be as far away from anybody as possible." That's my kind of camping mr. And mrs. Backwoods, I'm glad you guys had a great time and keep up the good work. :)
That's a camping meal worth sitting down to and enjoying. Great tip and information on the seeds, I would have never thought about it in that way. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
A lot of folks don't understand that seeds from domestic plants can be harmfull in the wild. If you dump them, make sure they burn completly in the fire, or just take them home to the trash like I did.
I would bet some of the gravy on the rabbit would taste good too. Just another "GREAT VIDEO FROM THE BACKWOODS GOURMET CHANNEL" Thanks again for sharing.
I just started watching your videos about 3 weeks ago I just cooked this besides rabbit I use chicken and boy I used my own seasonings and it came out wonderful please keep sending off the good videos I can't wait for the next one and of course I definitely this subscribed thank you and keep up the good work cuz I love Dutch oven
Yummmmm, I'd eat the whole thing!👌😉 And actually I thought you'd have combined it all together with the gravy, and then spoon it over the squash. But it looks better separate. Great job.
Indeed, like what you're doing. I have not had the opportunity for such a grand meal, while camping. I see a Glock Idontknowwhat lying about toward the end. I am somewhat a Ruger fanatic but we're all brethren...
Looks GOOD 'Wood! I LOVE rabbit, but they're so lean you got to add some fat... bacon is a good call. Great video, Brother! Wish I was enjoying your heat wave instead of our snow and cold here in Wisconsin! I miss Florida!
beee you ti full! I have 10 organically grown rabbits in my freezer and was looking for another recipe. We like to stew them whole in leek soup -- in fact we haven't really found another recipe to beat that -- but this looks like a contender.
hey neighbor...somehow I missed this video when it came out. its portable (like poe-tuh-bul). how are the prices on rabbit meat in your area? not sure why they charge so much in northeast FL.
Great video! It all looked so good. I was wondering if you ever use a cast iron trivet in your ovens to cook meats? I'm just getting into dutch oven cooking and your videos really help.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel I have the 4 in 1 but I mean do you ever use a trivet for inside your ovens to keep meat off the bottom of the oven. Lodge makes one for this but i've never seen one used.
@@JD-nc7yb Yes, my 12 inch from Bass Pro Shops came with a rack toi keep your food off of the bottom. You can use that or the method that we showed here. Thaks for watching.
Where can I find the table you use to put your pans on during cooking? We don’t want to do it on the ground while camping. I don’t see it in your Amazon store. Thank you for your great videos!
When I cut acorn squash in half, I cut them from the stem to the far end so that they sit well while they are being cooked and eaten. Yes, it is a bit of a bear to cut through the stem but they sit better this way. Am I missing out on something that causes them to cook better when cut across instead of length wise?
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel since I have your attention, I want to tell you how amazing you are and that your pretty inspiring to me. The one thing is that these vids make me so hungry!

The fact that you have a loaded gun next to the Dutch as you plate up is the GREATEST and most AMERICAN thing ever 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Something about watching these videos is so damn relaxing and therapeutic.
Just an absolutely awesome video. REAL game cooked on a fire in cast iron with basic ingredients. The world needs more of your videos.
Thanks for watching.

Lol, that pup had to see Momma before it was ready to run free. When Momma's there, you're safe!
I had the Glock handy also. Lots of bears, bobcats and cayotes around this place.
@@Austin_Hart We will be back out fishing this coming week, so stay tuned for a possible trash fish or treasure.

The meal looked amazing as always. My question is, What caliber is the Glock on the table.
That would be a 9mm. Good for Mrs Backwoods and standard Military rounds. Thanks for watching.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel And is that OK on public lands? Either way, that meal was top notch.
Awesome. Love it!!

I especially liked the Glock side dish...

Outstanding job! Where do you get your recipes?
Almost everyting on our channel is my orginal recipes with experience of old time recipes thown in.
Where does one buy rabbit? I have been wanting to get one to try to make Hasenpfeffer. On the other hand your recipe looks much easier.
Google it in your area. Small town butcher shops is where I find them.

guerilla garden maybe
Looked like a Glock . I have a model 22 in .40 cal .
G17 Gen 4 in 9. Mrs Backwood's gun. Mine is Ruger 40.
Is that a glock next to the Dutch oven?
Absolutly. Lots of critters out here that could attact my dog. On sentry. Thanks for watching.
