I remember seeing Arch Enemy live when they had Angela Gossow singing for them before she became their manager but Alicia White Gluz is an incredibly talented singer and I’m very glad that she’s with Arch Enemy.
you guys are such go to gods.. I've been shockingly depressed lately.. and yet.. comin gdown this morning and popping that on the stereo Judson, thank you... I listened to your rendition of Minnie the moocher about 5 times and now it'll be the cab calloway version (With THAT video) then the O.D.B version) And then I'll return and finish this video all set for a cheerful morning You utter diamonds
I don't understand how so many of these bands fall under "melodic death metal." I'd love to see Be'Lakor get some love from y'all - those mellodeath dudes have been grinding for years.
Haha after watching the whole video I must say this is the best, funniest and just a joy to watch.... "mr epicus" is in love :-D hahaha I hope you and Alysa meet and damn you will be quite then hahaha
Not only the guitar playing Amott brothers of Arch Enemy is worth noting, but their drummer, Daniel Erlandsson, has quite a resumé. He was an early member of In Flames and also played in Carcass and other british bands like Cradle of Filth and Paradise Lost
Now we need to hear some of Alyssa's vocals from The Agonist because they utilized her clean vocals in addition to her growls. I suggest the song Business Suits and Combat Boots because I think it does a good job of showcasing her cleans.
YES!!! Finally Arch Enemy! I knew way back when you showed Judson the video for Pisces from Jinjer that he would love Arch Enemy! Good choice, by the way. Perfect how he got a chance to hear the music for a bit before cupid's arrow struck and he saw HER.
Judson, the description u give about going thru the clouds and seeing all life happening and the encompassing of everything, thats exactly what i have felt my whole life listening to metal that it does, the right bands of course. u said it! and thats where i feel people miss out on not giving the genre the chance, its like a true meditation, plant medicine. its everything!
Think this is one of the best Arch Enemy songs... With Jeff Loomis and Michael Amott (Carcass) on guitar then you have a fantastic lineup!!! And she is both fantastic to look at and fantastic skilled to listen to!
You need to react to a true masterpiece from Sweden: The title track "Left Hand Path" from the album (1990) which is a masterpiece from the main and sacred Old Skool Swedish Death Metal Band: ENTOMBED!!!!!
Angela gossow is arch enemy to me. Alissa is the agonist in my brain. Panophobia and I am legend/out for blood are the two tracks they are both amazing in.
This is great and all... but I can never unhear another Arch Enemy song "I will Live Again" in the chorus. I guess it's been 20 fuckin years, they can repeat a melody lol. Amon Amarth has done it a million times too (and it's always great!).
Dam J! Ya had me all kinds of twisted up on that intro man. I thought you were playin the Mr Yuck PSA commercial haha! Search that on here sometime youre bored.....lol. If youre diggin' on Alissa like that, you should check out Kristyn from Daedric. Immortal is the particular song I had in mind. Her range is off the hook, easy on the eyes too...haha. Rock on Gents!!!! \m/ Hidy hidy hidy hiiiiiiiiiiii.......
The Amott brothers were both in Arch Enemy for a while, but Christopher left. Michael is still in the band, and the other guitarist for this album was Nick Cordle who was also in Arsis for a while. Michael Amott played one of my favorite solos ever, the first half of the solo in "No Love Lost" on Carcass' Heartwork. Carcass was kinda better known for their goregrindy stuff, but Heartwork is a fantastic melodic death album, great riffs and solos, quite catchy, would think Judson would like it if he's getting into melodic death stuff.
Careful Judson, I'm pretty sure she's still dating Doyle from the Misfits. I think you might want to let that one get away. I wouldn't want that smoke.
@@Greatmeasures Speaking of the Misfits, you guys should check them out on the channel, unless you're already familiar with them. I don't remember seeing too many punk rock reactions on here. Their songs are so short you could cover a whole album in the time it takes to do one Opeth song. "Astro Zombies," "Where Eagles Dare," or "Horror Business" would by my recomendations. Keep up the great work!
Your videos are very good! Please introduce the classical musician to the band Haggard with the song "Eppur Si Muove" or even "Awaking the centuries". I'm curious to see his reaction. These are songs with beautiful piano melodies, orchestrations and weight.
when you guys decide to react to Carcass, just as a suggestion, i would do 1 song from the first five albums in a row to show the progression and how they split initially until the 2000s. Maybe? Idk. Great reactions guys!
Awesome band, no clue why they are getting so much grief from people. I would actually recommend Judson hearing My Apocalypse (maybe the Live at Wacken 2016 version?). I think he will like the interlude in the middle. Edit: Or maybe Avalanche? (which I find to be a eather under-rated but wonderful song)
Hell yeah, love that album even though that's not normally my "sound." Songs are pretty long for these kinds of videos though. Would love to find some jazz bands that just sound like their jazzy interludes from that album, I like that moody "noir" kinda stuff but everything I've found either tries to be too atmospheric and ends up being so slow it's boring, or has vocals or something.
When I heard "I think you like melodic death metal", I felt like that's even more reason to bring him some Dark Tranquillity. Songs that are a bit Arch Enemy like: Monochromatic Stains One Thought Cathode Ray Sunshine Or just beautiful instrumental, smth for the musicians ear maybe: Dark Tranquillity - Ex Nihilo
Jeff Loomis guitarist who also played in this band. pls react Nevermore. the riffs and guitar tone on the album dead heart in the dead world is worth listening to. 👌example the river dragon has come 🤟
When I listened to the beginning of the Piano Intro 00:20 I thought it was Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams. It is just me or...? I am not aware if Minnie The Moocher's score has some similarity. 🤔
In my opinion, Judson fell in love with Alissa, but she is not from SWEEEDEN but from Canada. 🤣🤣🤣❤❤ btw. Richard, as you say - introduce Judson to Carcass, please. But something melo, not some Reek of P... 🤣 it could be Corporal Jigsore Quandary, maybe something melo from "Swansong" but don't tell him what they are inspired by when giving the titles to their songs... 😅
Saw these guys on the Defenders of the Faith tour when Opeth were headlining back in 2008, and the original singer was waaaay cooler. Scary in fact. In a good way though.
Alicia is very talented, but I always felt the difference between her and Angela is that Alicia feels like she is performing and Angela always looked like she was about to kick your ass. Have Judson watch the live version of Nemesis in Tokyo with Angela. It's pure attitude.
Nope. Guitarists are/were not brothers. The Dark haired guitarist is Michael Amott and has been with the band since their inception. The blonde haired guitarist was Jeff Loomis who was originally from the Progressive Metal band, Nevermore. He left the band in 2023 however. (Just found that out myself actually).
I use indiemerchstore and nightshift merch. For some of the more obscure bands, I try to grab preorders or promos that they may be running. Those are usually done through the label that they’re signed to or independently through the band itself. Following the band on social media is usually very helpful. You can also see if that band has a metal archives page. If they do, there’s usually a “related links” section that will lead you to their merch page.
arch enemy fan almost from beginning. ventured away genre became too commercial. richard bring me back with some crypta, my brother. "mode of acceptance" sinister likes.
@Greatmeasures Awesome! Yeah, it sounded like he played it back on the piano in the same exact key after the song was over. It's hard for us mortals to do that 🤣
My god, why this album did not come with Angela singing? There is no substitute for her. Please revisit Arch enemy with some older stuff. Under black flags or something. GG
That was the last real good album form ARch Enemy. And yeson this album the guitarplayers wher brothers. Actually it jeff Loomis leadguitarplayer from former Nevermore. Live are they thigth as fuck but the new and last two albums wan't that good in my opinion. but there are some good songs but not trough the whole album.

Michael Amott, ex-Carcass, founded Arch Enemy to create a more comercial sound melodeath style with female front vocalists; Angela Gossow in the past and Alissa in the present (I know they had a male frontman before Angela). I prefer Carcass anyway, Arch Enemy sounds like a sellout for me, at least in this genre, it's almost a pop chorus after all FYI, peak melodeath for me is this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Strain
I could have swore it sounded like judson was playing sweet dreams
exactly my thoughts
Same 😂
Some of them want to abuse you
Same
Harmonics are quite similar.
I think its about time Judson hears some classic in flames (my definition of that is anything before reroute)
Anything from Clayman would be awesome. Bullet Ride and Pinball Map are two of my favourite songs of theirs and they both kick that album off.
Metal + Soul + Arch Enemy = NEVERMORE
That's the thing i 'd like to say to you a big Yeah!!!!!!!!!!😋
ooo they need nevermore..i have a nevermore pentagram tatatd on mi leg
@@TheSadistNat1on Nevermore is a great Band!
Yes! Ive been trying to get them to cover them for weeks. I really think Judson would dig everything about them.
I subscribe. Listen to something from Dreaming Neon Black.
Can't wait for the day when you show some Insomnium for Judson!!!
That is some top tier melodic death metal.
Insomnium, in flames, soilwork, belakor
Imsomnium and Omnium Gatherum would be cool. I’ve been listening to them a lot lately.
While she sleeps!

Arch Enemy is catchy as all hell
@08:40 - That headshake and laugh says it all.
I think you are right about the melodic death metal.
; )
So funny every time Judson falls in love hahaha
Arch ennemy is a great band with a monster in vocal and a very nice lady!! very cool and her voice is just POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like your love Tatiana!
