Im team pre-built all day. I'm terrible with my hands and I get decision fatigue pretty quickly; plus the money you spend will equal time saved. You and I are brothers-in-arms.

I've built all my PCs since I was 16 years old, and I'm just at the point (financially) where I can afford a pre-build, and I like having the luxury of not having to do it myself. Plus those warranties!

bought a legion tower 7i 13900kf rtx4090 32gb 1tb for 4000 cad which imo is a great deal. the prebuild has very good cooling and I was also able to add 2 2tb samsung ssds as well as 64gb ddr5 5600 cl36. Nothing on this PC is proprietary and it's just a beast. If i were to build this pc with the same specs it will cost me at least 1000$ cad more

Looking at prebuilt myself. Been going back and forth between alienware aurora r16 or Lenovo legion tower 7i. Currently Lenovo doesn't have a 4090 version in stock, but they do have a 4080 super. I believe Lenovo has slightly less of an issue with proprietary parts but don't have the best track record with customer support.

    Order of operation:
    - Console gaming under $600. Best for causal gamers that want to game in the living room.
    - Customized PC gaming over $600 and under $1,500. Best for mid-tier QHD gaming and great customized features. (gaming heaven)
    - Pre-built PC gaming over $1,500. Nvidia & AMD GPUs get too expensive with declining marginal returns after this point. Pre-built PC provide the highest end GPUs at the lowest cost, and you can still get to change the RAM & SSD (At least with Alienware). This is for people paid to use the extreme GPUs or will leverage them to get paid (tournament gamers, ML engineers, or other types of engineers using CAD software).

Can you do a review of the aurora? It’ll be nice to see how you’ve been doing so far

I have the same rig and it's been nothing but solid. I do know how to build my own rig though but I just didn't want to and I was busy with work.

There are very few small form factor prebuilt options on the market, so it's DIY for me.

How did you score that insane price? I’m in Canada too and I can’t find that price….WOW!!!

Prebuilt is fine so long as you understand the brand you are buying from and know you are paying extra. Otherwise, do you and enjoy your gaming! I've been lucky in both my builds that they turned on day 1. I always buy the parts with the most reviews though as that gives me a better idea of expected reliability.

I'd say that out of all prebuilt options on the market, going alienware is pretty much the apple of prebuilts. Overpriced for the brand alone and zero after market customization. It kinda skews the comparison.

I like building and upgrading, it is satisfying for me. I have bought a prebuilt back in 2017, Alienware with 1080Ti. It felt like cheating lol
