  • In this video I have the privilege to interview a lady who is an inspiration to me. Aged 90 she is still full of zeal for her creative practice and is full of inspiration to get you motivated, you are going to love it!
Talking about her trips to the Arctic and flicking through her sketchbook is a real treat. Julian then gives some tips and tricks to make the most of your materials and also loosen up in your art.
Thank you Julian for this interview it can be my monthly pep talk :)
If you would like to comment particularly to Julian I can pass them on.

Thank you for this precious artist's date at Julian's studio.
"Do one sketch a day" "Keep the zest going!"🍋
    "Go to galleries"
"Use all different media you can!"
Beautiful sketches from Artic. You can feel the captivation is still vivid in the various shades of grey, blue and lavender in pastels.
Lanzarote view is kind of Matisse and Hockney.
The "exercises" in watercolor and gouache are powerful.

Everything she teaches is why she is so sharp and accomplished at ninety, and she doesn’t look ninety at all! What an inspiration and delight for us all to see our own futures bright and full of life.

What an inspiring video thank you so much. What an amazing artist. I notice that her hands are riddled with arthritis but she still paints, and even takes the time at 90 to be still painting her nails... Im also a lover of the arctic (cold, dramatic, stark, interesting and oh so beautiful), in fact that is part of my email address... cheers from Western Australia

What a great interview, thank you for sharing it! This lady is such an inspiration for all of us, artists to keep doing what we love most - creating.
And thank you also for your channel - I started following you not long ago and love the combination of art, traveling and vlogging.

Very inspirational indeed. Thank you for this. I consider myself a good copyist. I copy faces, children mostly, for which I do use photos I have manipulated on Photoshop and printed. I have done a lot of court room sketching, but presently have found myself in a rut, not having used color for the past few years. I am truly trying to correct this and am using several water soluble mediums. It is going ok and practice is my MOD these days. This video has been so reassuring. Seeing what she is doing and has done is breathtaking and she is 90!! And again thank you for introducing us to her. Oh yes, I am 89 so there we are.

Yes I use photos which I have taken but want to spend more time sketching and painting outside this summer if it stops raining. Yes she is very inspirational and so are you commenting on UA-cam at 89!!

Plein air has always eluded me. I tried but not my thing. Thank goodness for tech which I use daily. A bit housebound now so UA-cam keeps me in touch with so much and the tutorials and sites such as yours are indispensable. I am now in England, having lived in Alaska for over 60 years. I definitely know the Arctic colors Julian was talking about. Your site is wonderful and I have watched each video. Thank you for taking the time in making them and your generosity in sharing them.@@lindavineart

I have to say I am truly enjoying your videos! I just came upon your UA-cam channel today and I couldn't be happier as I love all things about the people and places of the United Kingdom. As an artist I'm especially smitten with your amazing talent and creative abilities! Your art is amazing! You have the perfect lovely voice for taking us on your little journeys through nature and into art galleries and shops centering on the creative spirit. Ill be doing some catch-up with your videos and will look forward with anticipation for your upcoming videos. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview with this brilliant artist. Looking through her old sketch books was such a thrill. I have such items from my mother, that date back half a century and more. Very cherished! Thanks again for providing such lovely content. Your videos are perfect with a cup of hot tea and getting cozy!🫶🫠

You have a sensitive and empathetic touch. It's a gift to be able to draw a creative artist out of herself in this way. She is an intelligent teacher and a dear friend. I look forward to your next interview of an artist in this inspirational part of the world.
