If this happened in the uk imagine the outcry. It would be on the news for a month. Instead I find one short video on UA-cam- probably won’t hear about how they are doing after it much. So messed up how much ppl have to put up with just being in a different country. We can only hope that we progress to a status and economy that can stay reliable

At least this volcano just oozes lava and does not blow ash over an area of 100's of square miles. Note the layers of lava that the city is rebuilt upon.

Except that according to geologists, the lava is even more fluid than that in Hawaii and Iceland. It can race down the slopes at 60 mph/100 km per hour. Due to that speed, it has killed hundreds in its last two eruptions. Add to that, the World Bank defunded their volcano monitoring, punishing the citizens of the DRC rather than whichever person or persons was embezzling the funds.
Add to that, the lake beside Goma has a history of disgorging deadly CO2 gas every few hundred years, and is especially prone if disturbed by lava entering the lake. I doubt if the city has CO2 detectors beside the lake.
If memory serves me correctly! Did this happen in about 2002 as well?

It would be good to also explain the impact of volcano eruption in upcoming days ..what sort of climatic changes can be expected based past data and and what caused this volcano eruption.. is it due to cyclone near Indian Ocean or are tectonic disturbance or due to bombing in Gaza.
It's pure arrogance or merely stupidity to believe this was caused by humans. There have been volcanic eruptions for countless millions of years. Far meet than there has been humans or, any life on this planet for that matter.

Well seeing as most of the worlds coltan is mined in the Congo and Rwanda, and that's a vital component in most electronic devices, the economic cost will be paying even more for the next generation of gadgets.
They know the Nyiragonggo eruption will have a devastating impact on their city, and they have experienced it many times, and they don't want to move out of the city. When disaster strikes they are not even prepared to face it. May all residents unite to help each other.
