My wife and I played Cascadia for the first time last weekend, we used Landmarks in that game. We thought the game was fantastic, we actually played twice (I would have played a 3rd time). For what it's worth, Landmarks seem like it was meant to be part of the game, there's no way we'll never play without it ...
In fairness adding landmarks be separate from the base gang allowed it to be approachable for non gamers and hence the Spiel Des Jahres win! I think the game is great without Landmarks but definitely adds some more depth for gamers
I’m looking for a family friendly (not to complicated to teach and learn but offers some strategy) game that will support up to at least 6 players. I want the game components to be easy to handle. Carcassonne has been a classic with the gaming group. Would Cascadia with Landmarks expansion possibly meet this criteria? Plus, we live in the Pacific Northwest (aka Cascadia), so the theme is fulfilling.
Yes I think that’s a good choice for that player count. But i would just use the extra tile’s and rules for tile drafting for that player count but don’t include the landmarks expansion. For Sale is always great at that player count. Sagrada with the 6 plaster expansion as well. 2nd edition of Camel Up too
Where I am the expansion costs only a few dollars less than the base game. Is there really as much stuff in the box as the base game that would justify that cost?
I think if you want to play it with 5-6 players and You want another layer of depth to be added it would definitely up the experience and The amount of situations you could play it in
Very useful review and well explained rules. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful James!
Thanks for the awesome review! Hope you keep bringing Cascadia Landmarks to your game nights!
Thanks for letting me take an early look at it!

@@TheGameBoyGeeks I have no doubt that is true. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the review! I'll pass on this expansion though, the base game is perfect.
Very disappointed to hear they failed to match tile colors. Alderac needs to address this issue.
It didn’t seem to impact gameplay at all as they are all randomized patterns on the side that you actually use.
@@TheGameBoyGeeksI heard the colors on the main side also don't match. Is that true?
I don't care if the backs match as long as the land and water match.
Meh , disappointing not worth £40
