80% of us become disabled before we die. And it doesn't just happen in old age; accident and illness can happen at any time. I became a wheelchair user at the age of 25. By making society more equal and accessible, you're making your own future better.
Wonderful message! I hope it’s heard in Britain and around the world. From a 🇨🇦 mom of two of the most resilant and hardworking disabled young adults who just need the opportunity and support to achieve their dreams. Merry Christmas!
As someone who has a vision impairment, is a guide dog owner, and uses Access To Work every day, I wholeheartedly agree with you Chris. All too often blindness is overlooked as another ‘hidden disability’, and I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve been told I don’t look blind. Congratulations on winning Strictly! I’m sure you’ve been told this loads of times, but your presence on such a popular show gave the public a much needed poke to say that people with disabilities can do anyth8ng with determination. As my parents told me when I first the majority of my sight when I was 9; it’s nor that I CAN’T do something, I just do it a different way!
Yes. Well said. My daughter is a performer which is a freelance industry. She has done so well since graduating but everything takes her longer. Asking for support, people who do not understand and just say they can't see anything wrong. Invisible disabilities are misunderstood. Be kind and be aware 🙏🌟
Absolutely spot on. Well done Chris. I work in inclusive recruitment with highly skilled candidates who are just looking for an employer to give them an opportunity. There are good empliyers out there, however, there need to be very many more
Well done for highlighting the failings of the government and the necessary changes needed to take place. Society’s attitude to disability needs to change too ❤
Inspiring message, Thank you Chris. Great that you quoted the “Golden Rule”. Here’s to equality, awareness, and inclusion for 2025 and the years to come. Compassion should be an every practice and not an occasional sentiment.
As one of the 15 million disabled people in the UK, and of the 9 million of working age, thank you, Chris. 🙏 And remember, folks, not all disabilities are visible. X
Thank you Chris as someone who is autistic I have used Access to Work and without it I would not of been able to work. That being said I am unemployed I firmly believe because of my autism. :(
Fantastic! Chris is a national treasure. I suspect the 43 day average are outdated for access to work. When I applied in October the website stated 26 weeks before I would be assessed. These delays make it difficult for me to remain employer. This need fixing.
Well said Chris. I can relate to sight loss. Because I had cataracts in both eyes, which left me nearly blind. Living with cataracts was difficult. I was lucky enough to have had surgery on both eyes to remove the cataracts. My sight has been restored fully now. Which I am grateful for. But I do have an empathy for sight loss, because my temporary experience of sight loss.
Fantastic. Wish my family had have watched this instead especially as two of their children are disabled and struggled to find work to find work ( basic part time at that).
Knighthoods are easy to get when you can grease the right palms....and by grease palms I mean something YT would likely remove. They are mostly meaningless these days.
The messages seem the same because the need is still just as strong as it ever was. It's those that don't look for the differences and ways they can participate in improvement who become voluntarily deaf to what's important to listen to, not just hear.
I mean companies are in business of makinc money and are not support worker's or care home places earn money or make companies money fint have time or money ti support disabled staff I known this as corporate bosses are cold

See you 2025 Chris, Dublin. Lovely message.
Lovely man, important message 👍.
Excellent Christmas message
I would rather have a speech from him every year instead of the king
So much better than whatever tosh Chucky may have said.
Excellent Christmas day message, certainly more relevant than the king's.

All of these messages are the same. Need a new writer for next year
It’s literally not though.

Open borders, allow the non british in your racist country, so media make it. 😂
