I remember the first time I saw this story was on TV and I just bursted into laughter, I couldn't paused it to see the reaction of the rest. Now I totally identify with Angela's reaction haha
We are blessed in the UK that we have so many comedians that can come on to WILTY and mess with our heads like this. Well done to Chris for using his blindness for great comedic effect. "If anyone thinks this is offensive, they don't have to put it on the sub-titles" Genius!
Pop in Claudia "Mad as a box of Frogs" Winkleman for the diversity quotient, Bob and Chris on Lee's team. I just had a great idea for a sitcom Lee and Chris are best buds and room mates, Claudia and Sarah Milican are the on again off again love interestes for them, Henning is the wacky scary neighbor, and Bob runs an unlicensed dentist shop out of his kitchen.
These are the best of 'would I lie to you' clips. ❤😂 I can't stop laughing since David goes, "I'm doing the distress face.' "Well, that helps comes the reply". 😅😂
Chris is so funny! I'd love for him to be a contestant on Taskmaster. If you haven't experienced the TV show he did where all the contestants were in total darkness for the entire series, I highly recommend it. Chris was fantastic in it.
@@Ron-d2s He's just been on Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered with Dianne Buswell, who was an amazing teacher. They performed beautifully together. Sadly, he was voted out after performing a very difficult dance. I wish he could have stayed.
What I find funny and weird is that almost everytime, the opposite team won't believe Chris' tale. But they are all applausible things happening to disabled people. Just shows how many things in life we're taking for granted and think as "normal". Love Chris' presence on the show as it really gives glimpses of daily life of people with disabilities.
Yep him talking about the core makes sense. As the same applies to peanuts: apparently you can even eat the shells. As a blind person, I suppose you don't have the visual factor to say when you are done eating the flesh of the apple
It's not weird. 999 can put people through to a translator. Chris would have just shouted to someone else in the street who could see. The woman would have called a friend in her native language who spoke English to call 999. Miming a road sign wouldn't work unless you could see the road sign. Fake story. As is living with a deaf person. They feel like something you'd see in a silent film.
It would have been awesome if Chris's neighbor had been a guest for "This is my...". I figure that must be one of the toughest bits for producers to fill, and it would have been cool hearing 2 more lies about how they know a deaf person.
John's shocking lack of knowledge about the fire & rescue service and the fact that most of their work is not firefighting but rescue from vehicles, cellars, building collapses, natural emergencied etc. Makes me think that all he knows about the "Fire Brigade" is what he read in a Ladybird book in the 60s. 😂
The weirdest comment ever made about the fire brigade would have any kind of kit that dealt with descending into... 😂 John has no concept how a ladder works; surely, he must know that the fire fighters climb up the ladder will also need to come back down. Priceless answer, I do believe it's possible they can take the ladder and 🤣put it down into the hole. 🤣🤣🤣
I know. I was like WTF. Are you for real? John is super dumb or he is providing materials to the others. Either way, he did start a very amusing discussion about the ladder & its usage.
@@thesameappliestoyou5133 His mind is destroyed by drugs and he isn't an intelligent person, he's just a working class person with a slightly above average vocabulary and because he's a 'poet' people assume he is smart.
@@Face-Lice Honestly I don't get why he appears on comedy shows. He may be a poet but he's not funny or got comedic timing. Always feels awkward when he's on
@@gangrath He was seen as very cool and anarchic back during the punk era. There will be a lot of people in the industry who worshipped him when they were teenagers. They probably know he needs a bit of work, probably getting 5,000 per appearance. Give him 5 appearances over the year and it's not a bad income. I do admit he makes people believe he is an intriguing character due to the deliberately forced way he chooses to speak, and so he's probably quite popular.
@@egocks Even if you eat the seeds you'll be fine. My dad's been eating apple seeds since I was young, and he's still perfectly fine. The amount of cyanide in the seeds is miniscule and you'd have to eat a lot of apples all at once to have any kind of negative side effects.
I thought the last one had to be a lie because it was too similar to the first one, turns out he's just constantly running into people he can't communicate with 😭

I beg to differ. He does good comedy in general, and it isn't always about sightedness. I think he's hilarious in all forms. But his disability comedy is also great as he does it in a "normal" way, i.e. very quick witted and funny in general even without relying on his brand of humour

Yeah alright whatever.
I appreciate the UK regularly has differently abled celebrities. It's good to see everyone normalized as the amazing people they are.
How patronising
How is it patronising? It’s important. It really is.
Please use the term disabled. We are disabled people and that’s not a bad word.
You can say disabled. We are all "differently abled" in some way but the point is that disability is an impairment.
UK has a lot more diversity on TV than Americans give us credit for.
