wow I'm so happy for you! this is so inspirational for me to see as someone that is aspiring to be a full time artist! so lovely to see someone being so honest about money too! excited to continue watching your journey 💕
I know there’s a lot of grouchy people out there over these types of videos but I’m here to drown them out and say I appreciate it so much! Hoping to start my own channel soon (you know, just gotta get started 🥲) and I already run my own shop (website/Etsy/wholesale/markets) so it’s encouraging to see the growth that’s possible. Thanks!
Aw thank you! I went back and forth about whether I should make this video haha. People on art youtube are SO nice though, you should totally go for it!
I agree!!! I've always been the one to discuss how much I get paid with my coworkers (when i was still working for companies) to make sure we're being paid fairly hahaha
Thank you for the transparency! I have the same kind of inconsistency with my income, I think it's a universal experience for anyone who's self-employed 😫I wouldn't trade it for the world tho haha
Thanks for sharing this in such a thorough manner! This is really helpful for anything trying to venture into the freelance world! ❤ to more success and growth! 🥂
Thanks for sharing everything you do! I love following along. How are you able to make this a full time business? I have been so burnt out with work lately that I have been thinking about going full time with my crochet and paint!
It took a few years of doing odd jobs part time and slowly doing less and less part time work until I could pay my main bills with art. It's tough though, like I said in this video I'm not always making enough each month to be comfortable but hopefully over time it'll get better :)
UA-cam recommended your channel to me a few months ago. Im also independent artist and seeing you gives me company on this path! I Love what you make 💫
Yes, I took down all my Etsy listings around when I posted this video. Now I just have my shop announcement on there with my social media so they can find me elsewhere if they stumble upon my Etsy! :) so far I’m glad I stopped selling on there!
I can try to think of some of my tips! I really like Mualcaina's UA-cam for help with markets/artist alley's though :) She gives a lot of good advice and sample table setups!
You should try selling at a small market! I've used Fairs and Festivals .net in the past to find places to sell at, but also just do some google and facebook events searching :) I don't do any that require a commission or a large fee :)
it’s nice that you can be a full time ‘artist now; but I think that there are soooo many other artists that are doing much cooler things and they should be the ones putting their work out there. I admire your time commitment, but you should probably go back to your day job
I make jewelry, and seeing this makes me want to sell at markets and events!! Etsy hasn’t been incredibly profitable for me either (@beedoesbeads) Thank you for making this.
You should totally go for it!! I never would've been able to do this without all the markets I did last summer and into my first year! It helps you get more followers too by chatting w/ random ppl at the markets (other vendors or customers!) :) So even if you don't make many sales it's a great way to get genuine followers who are interested in what you post on IG and stuff
It’s so refreshing to see someone so honest and transparent! Thank you!!!
This is so helpful for me as an aspiring full time artist. I found you through UA-cam and am very happy to be following along!
Ah I'm glad it was helpful! Ty for watching :~)

This was great to watch! I've recently gone full-time freelance and always find it good to see all the way creatives are making money!
Thanks for making this video. It's so cool to see how much someone could potentially make in their first year as a full time artist.
Congrat on your success for this first month ! I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEO ❤

Wow thank you so much! There's been lots of ups and downs but it's been worth it!
Thank you for sharing! It’s comforting to hear that the months will vary, I’m planning on going full time soon as well and money is so intimidating!
It is so intimidating!! Just save on the good months and remember the slower months are totally normal :)
Thank you for sharing; this is so helpful! I was also thinking of starting to sell my art at my climbing gym, I'm taking this as a sign

That's awesome!!

Aw yay! Ty for being here!
thanks for this!
That’s awesome you’re able to go full time. Given how well your site’s going vs Etsy, Do you think you’d drop Etsy?

Great video! Do you have any tips for selling on markets? I'm planning on joining my first market this fall

Were would be a great first time to start making money as like a clay artist that can't sell on the internet?
You should try selling at a small market! I've used Fairs and Festivals .net in the past to find places to sell at, but also just do some google and facebook events searching :) I don't do any that require a commission or a large fee :)
Uzumaki ! 🌀🐌🍄

YEAH! FANX!!!!
Wanna do a small art trade trading card?
I've never done an art trading card!! That sounds fun though :0
