Don't mind me, just reviewing historical documentation from the first galactic war. I'm a history buff. No other reason. No other impending, heavily shielded, terrifying reason.
Keep your nose up, Helldiver! We'll surely get the counter-measures in mass production as soon as these deep-sea squids do as little as poke their tentacles into our galaxy!
I just came here to say; as a veteran of the first galactic war, that my experiences with the Illuminate were few (I spent a good amount of my service deployed to combat Cyborgs) but they were not an enemy to be trifled with. In this footage, 19 Helldiver veterans went in, and only 4 made it out. 15 deaths... May Liberty shine on them. My experience with the Illuminate was on one deployment, as I had to fill in for another diver lost to them. The pods dropped into a jungle planet, and I called in my gear. I was a heavy machine gunner. Not a fancy job, but a necessary support position. Green as grass on the Illuminate front, but usually heavy machine gunners like myself could slag bots like paper, so... In my young mind at that time, the squids ain't nothing. I figured they'd die easy like any bugs or bots. With our gear dropped and my squad loaded, we set off to liberate. Hell... the chaos that unfolded shortly after we set off into the jungle, I don't even remember what we were doing on that damn planet. The squids came outta nowhere, and disappeared just as quick. When you thought you could off them, the damn shields would save them. One of my squad mates tried launching a rocket at those striders, only for the rocket to deflect off the shield and for her to be just as quickly gutted by an invisible foe. I still sometimes think I can see her blood on my old helmet... All I remember from that mission was losing my right leg diving into the pelican, and just mag dumping into thin air as it set off. I don't even know if I hit anything but jungle foliage... I was the only diver out. The Ministry keeps telling everyone the Illuminate are gone... but... Something in these old bones just doesn't think we've seen the last of them. To all new Helldivers, when you watch these patriotic historical archives, you need to pay attention and remember what we sacrificed.
Veteran here,do you remember how they tricked our minds and made us confuse left and right??they literally inverted our inputs and controls,i hate these f***ers
wanted to add that these are still happening, just barely saw one a week or two ago while solo on that one bot planet with the fire tornados (i think it was wezen? can't remember) and caught a recording of it. the recording is awful though, it's just barely onscreen and people would think it's some normal sky ambience even though it's very close to the same color as all the other sightings
Reviewing this old war footage, I notice the Helldivers in the first Galactic War sound a lot older and more professional than the ones from the Second Galactic War.
100 years of rampant militarism, technological advancement and ideological indoctrination plus the ever increasing efficacy of the meat grinder that is super earth’s endless wars have reduced the average life expectancy down a bit, just a bit.
Only now do I realize how much of a technological leap it was for super earth between the first and second galactic wars. Helldivers don't even have to crawl in and out of their oversized hellpods anymore! How amazing!
You know, i always thought the enemies were kind of cute thanks to the top down aspect. I probably won't feel the same way when these squid f*ckers come to hd2
Good Lord, i want to see those in Helldivers 2. Im a bit scared tho, the bots are "okay" to deal with when you know how to play but this looks like hell! xD I never really got to play this but this looks hella fun too! Anyways, lovely video! They got liberated for democracy. ❤
really wish we could double up on strats in HD2, that looks really fun, I'd definitely roll with doubles and triples of some strats. 15 strafing runs? 6 500 kgs? 3 Walking Barrages? edit: THE ILLUMINATE LOOK SO COOL! Other stuff I also want from this video: Eagle Napalm Strike. Boss fights. A side loading Pelican. The Illuminate. We're back up to 70k players in HD2, I really hope we can get over 100k. The game is so much fun now. Arrowhead deserves the hype, even if Sony doesn't.

Man, we really showed those alien bastards.
I'm so glad we live in a time when the Illuminate are gone for good and can't possibly return.
that is correct, ministry of truth approved that the fact illuminate is gone for good
Doing my homework for Democracy
Nah we ain’t winning when these come to HD2
We need more explosives! And maybe some shield penetrating stuff against these Protoss ;P
@@Killer99215😂protoss. I miss that game

@@kobbsy7441 confidence won’t save my ass… it may make me died gloriously but it won’t save me lmao

I'm here to learn more after the 'blue beam' sightings on Helldivers 2.

Interesting tactic to use napalm to block their projectiles. Something to keep in mind, certainly.

The way they slide into their hellpods is kind of hilarious in this game

Just wait until they invert your controls....
@@yamatofraccionI was always pretty good at adjusting to that but the inverted stratagem inputs made it insanely difficult to reinforce in a pinch

Glad to see you back.
I think this enemy will attack like bullet hell
5 strats + guns that dont seem nerf, thats the only thing hd2 is missing
When these guys come to hd2 it’s over😭🙏
Hope helldiver franchise have raid level like Destiny 2.
Besides going 3D it doesn't look like they changed much from the first game!
Tf! U got to be fucking blind
When are you going to fight him again in 4k?
Love that your back but do you still play planetside 2? I've been rewatching all of your previous ones and just wanted something new 😂
We have to fight those guys!?!?
Just studying old Great War footage
I’m just here to pay respects to our veterans 🫡✊

We will definitely require better weaponry if we are to bring democracy to this menace.😀
The warbond that has arc resistant armor will likely be the main one that will assist us in the fight against them in hd2
