Even in death, hes still required to win the battle. As much as I hate Gaygay for these last few chapters with way too much plot twists, Im still excited to see whats gonna happen next
i feel like yutas 'we cheated' and yujis 'hard work' when sukuna asked them how they all learned so much so fast is also telling of how much more about the plan yuta and the others knew compared to yuji
One additional thing that probably made the situation tense is that gojo just slaughtered the higher ups before facing sukuna. Yuji tapping in the back is probably a confirmation to gojo that its okay to share the burden, and lighten the mood.

also there's a snippet of hakari vs uraume, and she mentions something about humanity, hakari replies talking about yuuta and the fact that he was thinking about being humane or something along those lines, cant remember really well. It ties in really well with chapter 261 which is crazy
Readers who have never written seriously just don’t understand the writing process for a story like this. You don’t write linearly. You create the world, the characters, and the major plot points, then you craft the connecting tissues-JJK isn’t a long story, it’s a few set pieces with a ton of fights. The entire outline easily fits on a single sheet of paper.

As cool as Gojo is, his story in JJK is sad, and yuta taking his body is a good round out to his arc. I think yuta will live and have access to his other techniques he copied prior to when he ate Kenny's body. Maybe even gain Kenny's copied techniques

Since yuta still use his own brain he can keep his own CT and according to kenjaku you can store maximum 4 CT in one brain so yuta in gojo can still have his copy CT, limitless CT, kenjaku CT and his rika CT. Having his rika CT will allow him to store even more CT in rika
@@salvo27809 Incorrect. gege answered this in a question that normally when kenjaku switches bodies with his CT, the original CT would disappear but he says kenjaku had a binding vow to get around that. Since yuta doesn't know how the CT works, he probably had no such binding vow to get around that. Also the thing about the 4 CT thing was said by yuki i believe not kenjaku.
This is well put. I don’t like the direction the writing has taken at all post Gojo vs Sukuna, but a lot of the framework was definitely laid out ahead of time.
It's not even about foreshadowing. Gege explained the how simple and easy. Yuta beats kenjaku, steals technique, and takes over Gojo. For those who have an issue about morality, Gege is already 4 parallel universes ahead of you and prepared a response to that too. In fact the ENTIRE MANGA is about setting aside your humanity. You have to be crazy to fight cursed spirits. You have to fight selflessly for ignorant non-sorcerers. You will have to get your hands dirty and kill humans. Think about how so many jjk fights have jumpings. There is no honor to this, we aren't gonna stand around and do 1v1's like dragon ball. Everyone's gonna be throwing hands, and use everything at their disposal. They literally cheated with soul swap to get stronger rapidly to fight sukuna. What's the point of sticking to your morals if everyone dies as a result?
i feel like people are forgetting that the jjk world isn't like an average shonen world where everything is linear and people do 1v1's for like several episodes just to show off some new cool powerup. JJK is raw in its presentation and doesn't try to shy away from the nasty and grittiness of its world. Ofc when lives are at stake everyone would be grasping for anything that would allow them to keep living even if it means to do something as crazy as body hopping into your previously deceased sensei. it makes jjk what it is: a story of people trying to balance their humanity, what they think is right or wrong, and what mark would they leave in this world once everything is said and done. think back to itadori's grandpa and everything would make sense once gege reaches a conclusion, whether it's a good one or not.
also the fact that even Sukuna was surprised furthermore proves that Yuji had no idea. This is based on the fact that Todo is right about Yuji unknowingly sharing info with Sukuna

Something twisted about sukuna stripping away gojo's title of the strongest, gojo is now touchable and no longer lonely. Gojo is no longer alone, he has Yuta among him (literately).
I saw that someone said Kashimo knew the plan about Gojo's body as when Yuta was going to jump in Kashimo told him "Don't interfere. If anyone's next...It isn't you." and they continued by saying that Kashimo isn't saying they no one else can't jump in its saying only Yuta can't as they have to do the plan but people don't agree with what they said
That's definitely not what Kashimo was saying. Yuta was going to try fighting with his real body first, so Kashimo telling him not to go and fight with it in order to protect the plan of using Gojo's body doesn't make sense

If he was concerned with Yuta's plan failing he wouldn't have said that. They don't even have a reason to tell Kashimo about the plan so I doubt he knew about it, he's completely independent of their goal and doesn't care at all if they succeed so they have no reason to tell him any info
but it's been bad for a while now (and im talking about pure writing and storytelling ), it's been on a downhill since the gojo vs sukuna fight concluded, hell it's been on a rapid downhill since the shibuya arc ended .

This is coming from love okay so don't kill me. I didn't appreciate the lack of the push of showing Gojo in the midst of we all know that Yuji in the moment that he is in losing his brother and having the resolve that Todo was able to save everyone. I was mad that the moment Yuta showed up and know that Yuji was in the zone and we have seen his awakening, Sukuna (Gege) punches Yuta away like the story that he writing is flip flopping. Yuta has awakened and we all know that and now it's time for him to finish his awakening by full fulling his duty to excercise Sukuna with Aoi Todo, but instead we push him away again. I see that they want to put an period into Gojo's life and he already did that when the airport was empty to be honest and I you have to call it and let him go and have Yuji and his friends pick up the JJK world and put it together again, but to throw it out the window because Yuta is down bad for losing Gojo (Since everyone in that scene told Yuta cut it out with that grave stealing).
i honestly think that gege is just building sukuna because he will write another jjk manga in heian era where sukuna is the MC turned villain, in the end yuji is the version of sukuna where he didn't turn into a monster and yuta doing something sinister in order to win is something that sukuna also did in the past that leads him in the path of being the strongest in the heian era.

One thing that i liked from other comments that i read was that Yuta was worried because he would have to do it. In other words he was pretty much not worried about taking on kenjaku and losing. Of course it could be the other way around however Yuta seemed pretty confident in what he had to do to secure their insurance plan if higuruma didnt work out and then the plan after that. Remember the scene when Geto reacted while Kenjaku was using his body during the Shibuya arc? What if Gojo does something similar in the upcoming fight while Yuta uses his body? I doubt Gege would show a scene like that for nothing since Kenjaku is dead now
and if yuta really does have a 5 minute timer then yeah it would make perfect sense for him to have a reason to come back but if not then i dont see it

I hate to admit it, but saying "Yuuta looked distressed, more so than others" isn't really foreshadowing, because Yuuta has always been a nervous, timid character when he himself is not locked in and in battle, as we saw in JJK 0. people say that Gojo was well aware of the plan since Shibuya because he did the whole endorsing Yuuta thing, but let's be serious, when he said Yuuta would take his place, I don't think the man meant his literal corpse. it wouldn't make sense for his character, considering he refused to kill Geto for all those years, out of a sense of humanity, and jeopardised himself in Shibuya when he could've won easily because he let his humanity win out and chose to protect the NPCs around him. the argument that Gojo had to die to let the newer sorcerers, like Yuuji, develop and find their own way kinda falls through when you consider the fact that Yuuji has been pushed to the side-lines without a moment of fuckin peace to cook on his own, because Gege can't let go of the idea of Yuuta being the main character instead, and so keeps tinkering about with Yuuta in a way that just makes Yuuji an after-thought. I think Gege must have seen the immense backlash to Gojo's death, seen the potential hype that he could generate around teasing his return, and ran with it; I mean Yuuji was already locked in, and Yuuta's sudden appearance in the corpse of the one mentor he admired and loved just threw him off, only for Yuuta to have his ass handed back to him because he occupied Gojo's body without even understanding the full mechanics of his powers. You can copy a technique, like Yuuta did, but not know how to execute it, and that's because Gojo Satoru was the strongest because he was Gojo Satoru, and so, exceptionally skilled. but with how things have turned out, the man has the chance to cook, if he lets Yuuji take the wheel and stops fucking around with his development to give others the spot-light. all that to say, I don't think Gege planned this shit out, I think he is kinda going with the vibes and seeing where it lands; I think, we, the audience, are just giving him way too much credit for the most part because we don't want to possibly confront the off-chance that the man fumbled the bag this hard and that all these things were just well-placed coincidences. all these ass-pull characters coming in, fighting, and dying (typical Gege formula), prove that the man's writing is janky at best. but, imma let him cook for now and see where this goes. this could either be the greatest manga of all time and I'm just an idiot, or we got too high on copium as an audience.

The irony of saying he is thinking before stuff, is the fact he completely removed Kenjaku's technique of knowing all things of the past person's life.
I saw a reddit post that there was a reason why Kenjaku's brain had teeth. Yuta and Shoko skipped that step. Kenjaku surely ate the sorcerer's brain, and that made him have the memories of that person. Instead, Shoko put Yuta's brain on Gojo's body. That's why he didn't have his memories.

I just wish they would’ve executed Gojo’s death/departure better. There was so much to his character that wasn’t addressed properly in his final moments. They could’ve ended the Gojo vs. Sukuna fight better as well
as a writer, I think the issue is that: 1. Gege does not flesh out characters as a whole (can't count how many times the man has said "i think" in the fan-book talking about his *own* creations) and so likely never thought through Gojo's character outside where he is directly concerned with the plot because he intended to kill him off from the start. this is, of course, not a smart approach, because it can make characters feel more like pawns than their own 4 dimensional person whose desires, wants, past, and motivations exists outside the narrative. Gojo kinda feels the same. 2. Gege actually despises Gojo. this isn't even a joke at this point, the man despises him. he revelled in the fact that his absence would make the year a great one, half-assed his way through the man's later cover art, lamented that his wife said she would rather marry Gojo than him if he were a real man, and continually makes other characters parrot how much the man is an unbearable prick (likely just his own thoughts, safe for Nanami) when nothing about his on-screen behaviour suggests that he is anything other than social and personable? the man was in a rush to kill him and was happy to see him go. 3. Gege does not make character deaths profound or meaningful because he barely gives us longer than two minutes to get to know em before Sukuna beats their ass into a pulp. Gojo doesn't even have flashbacks to his parents (gege said he was a spoilt child), whom I presume he would have loved since they seemed to have treated him well? or not, because they could have seen him more as a tool than a person?? (again, thanks to his shitty character building, things like this are never addressed) all these things that would otherwise make a death emotional or impactful, Gege does not care for. I mean, think of the number of characters who we have seen in their natural home environment for longer than a flashback (safe for Junpei, he doesn't count). If the characters aren't directly on screen or involved in a fight, the man doesn't bother, like the fact that we never even found out what tf Gojo even does when he's not on a mission, since he's gone so often, where he lives, or what he thinks to himself. all things that would've contextualised the character more. all in all, the man went the clear cut route and so, only seeks to push the narrative forward as fast as possible; that's where the story falls short and fails to give itself and its cast space to breathe. so extrenuous portions about characters doing normal stuff like bonding, or god forbid, getting emotional and all that jazz to him is irrelevant if it isn't Sukuna punching the shit outta them. bro loves Sukuna so much he had Gojo, the cockiest mofo in the game (for good reason) rave about him AS HE IS DYING. you're telling me the last we ever hear or see of Gojo, he has not a single thought spared to Yuuji, whom he evidently cherishes (let down his infinity twice for him, despite knowing that Sukuna is inside him), nor Megumi, to whom he is the closest thing to a responsible father in the ENTIRE SERIES, but SUKUNA?! Gege and Sukuna is a love story for the ages.

Yeah, but just because it was planned out writing doesn't make it good writing. People aren't complaining about him pulling this from no where, people are complaining about its quality and inconsistency with the power system. Now don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. He was stressed because gojo is his mentor and friend and his life was constantly at risk during the fight. Yuta had no reservations when it was time to body swap. Man no this was not planned out beforehand. During chapter 249 Yuta is thinking about whether sending him to go kill Kenjaku was the correct call, and whether Maki would have been better suited. Then he says "No, Rika would have been needed to reduce civilian deaths if Kenjaku's cursed spirits went wild after he died". There is no mention of the plan for Rika to eat Kenjaku and then take his ability. This is Yuta thinking to himself, so the excuse of "well he doesn't want the other characters in the story to know" is moot, they can't hear his thoughts. Obviously if this WAS thought up beforehand, Gege wouldn't want to spoil it by having Yuta just straight up spill the beans to the audience by thinking about it. But then Gege also should have included SOMETHING to indicate that there was some other reason Yuta was sent to fight Kenjaku and not Maki. Even Yuta like biting his lip or something and thinking to himself "And..." would have been plenty. Yuta has been obsessing over this. It's the literal last thing he wanted to have to have happen. There is no reason for Yuta to effectively be lying to himself in regards to why he was sent to kill Kenjaku instead of Maki. So either Gege didn't think this up until after chapter 249, or Gege did think this up beforehand and messed up his character writing with Yuta. Gege is a good enough writer and has displayed the ability to foreshadow things really well in the past, so I refuse to believe that he just made an oopsie. Also for the record, I do not have any strong feelings about Yuta taking over Gojo's body. I think it's fine, it makes sense considering what everyone's abilities are. The only reason I dislike it is because now we don't get to see Yuji and Todo popping off anymore.

Moreover one of the most memed yet confusing Geto quote "Are you Gojo Satoru cuz you're the strongest? Or are you the strongest cuz you're Gojo Satoru?" finally got its reveal in the latest chapter. Even in death, hes still required to win the battle. As much as I hate Gaygay for these last few chapters with way too much plot twists, Im still excited to see whats gonna happen next

One additional thing that probably made the situation tense is that gojo just slaughtered the higher ups before facing sukuna. Yuji tapping in the back is probably a confirmation to gojo that its okay to share the burden, and lighten the mood.

As cool as Gojo is, his story in JJK is sad, and yuta taking his body is a good round out to his arc. I think yuta will live and have access to his other techniques he copied prior to when he ate Kenny's body. Maybe even gain Kenny's copied techniques
Kenjaku's body is the brain. Geto's body still survive.
Also the brain is the place to store CT. Since yuta still use his own brain he can keep his own CT and according to kenjaku you can store maximum 4 CT in one brain so yuta in gojo can still have his copy CT, limitless CT, kenjaku CT and his rika CT. This is well put. I don’t like the direction the writing has taken at all post Gojo vs Sukuna, but a lot of the framework was definitely laid out ahead of time.

It's not even about foreshadowing. Gege explained the how simple and easy. Yuta beats kenjaku, steals technique, and takes over Gojo. For those who have an issue about morality, Gege is already 4 parallel universes ahead of you and prepared a response to that too. In fact the ENTIRE MANGA is about setting aside your humanity. You have to be crazy to fight cursed spirits. You have to fight selflessly for ignorant non-sorcerers. You will have to get your hands dirty and kill humans. i feel like people are forgetting that the jjk world isn't like an average shonen world where everything is linear and people do 1v1's for like several episodes just to show off some new cool powerup. JJK is raw in its presentation and doesn't try to shy away from the nasty and grittiness of its world. Ofc when lives are at stake everyone would be grasping for anything that would allow them to keep living even if it means to do something as crazy as body hopping into your previously deceased sensei. it makes jjk what it is: a story of people trying to balance their humanity, what they think is right or wrong, and what mark would they leave in this world once everything is said and done. think back to itadori's grandpa and everything would make sense once gege reaches a conclusion, whether it's a good one or not.

That's definitely not what Kashimo was saying. Yuta was going to try fighting with his real body first, so Kashimo telling him not to go and fight with it in order to protect the plan of using Gojo's body doesn't make sense

This is coming from love okay so don't kill me. I didn't appreciate the lack of the push of showing Gojo in the midst of we all know that Yuji in the moment that he is in losing his brother and having the resolve that Todo was able to save everyone. I was mad that the moment Yuta showed up and know that Yuji was in the zone and we have seen his awakening, Sukuna (Gege) punches Yuta away like the story that he writing is flip flopping. Yuta has awakened and we all know that and now it's time for him to finish his awakening by full fulling his duty to excercise Sukuna with Aoi Todo, but instead we push him away again. I see that they want to put an period into Gojo's life and he already did that when the airport was empty to be honest and I you have to call it and let him go and have Yuji and his friends pick up the JJK world and put it together again, but to throw it out the window because Yuta is down bad for losing Gojo (Since everyone in that scene told Yuta cut it out with that grave stealing).
i honestly think that gege is just building sukuna because he will write another jjk manga in heian era where sukuna is the MC turned villain, in the end yuji is the version of sukuna where he didn't turn into a monster and yuta doing something sinister in order to win is something that sukuna also did in the past that leads him in the path of being the strongest in the heian era.

I hate to admit it, but saying "Yuuta looked distressed, more so than others" isn't really foreshadowing, because Yuuta has always been a nervous, timid character when he himself is not locked in and in battle, as we saw in JJK 0. people say that Gojo was well aware of the plan since Shibuya because he did the whole endorsing Yuuta thing, but let's be serious, when he said Yuuta would take his place, I don't think the man meant his literal corpse. it wouldn't make sense for his character, considering he refused to kill Geto for all those years, out of a sense of humanity, and jeopardised himself in Shibuya when he could've won easily because he let his humanity win out and chose to protect the NPCs around him.
the argument that Gojo had to die to let the newer sorcerers, like Yuuji, develop and find their own way kinda falls through when you consider the fact that Yuuji has been pushed to the side-lines without a moment of fuckin peace to cook on his own, because Gege can't let go of the idea of Yuuta being the main character instead, and so keeps tinkering about with Yuuta in a way that just makes Yuuji an after-thought.
I think Gege must have seen the immense backlash to Gojo's death, seen the potential hype that he could generate around teasing his return, and ran with it; I mean Yuuji was already locked in, and Yuuta's sudden appearance in the corpse of the one mentor he admired and loved just threw him off, only for Yuuta to have his ass handed back to him because he occupied Gojo's body without even understanding the full mechanics of his powers.
You can copy a technique, like Yuuta did, but not know how to execute it, and that's because Gojo Satoru was the strongest because he was Gojo Satoru, and so, exceptionally skilled. but with how things have turned out, the man has the chance to cook, if he lets Yuuji take the wheel and stops fucking around with his development to give others the spot-light.
all that to say, I don't think Gege planned this shit out, I think he is kinda going with the vibes and seeing where it lands; I think, we, the audience, are just giving him way too much credit for the most part because we don't want to possibly confront the off-chance that the man fumbled the bag this hard and that all these things were just well-placed coincidences. all these ass-pull characters coming in, fighting, and dying (typical Gege formula), prove that the man's writing is janky at best. but, imma let him cook for now and see where this goes. this could either be the greatest manga of all time and I'm just an idiot, or we got too high on copium as an audience.

The irony of saying he is thinking before stuff, is the fact he completely removed Kenjaku's technique of knowing all things of the past person's life.
I saw a reddit post that there was a reason why Kenjaku's brain had teeth. Yuta and Shoko skipped that step. Kenjaku surely ate the sorcerer's brain, and that made him have the memories of that person. Instead, Shoko put Yuta's brain on Gojo's body. That's why he didn't have his memories.

as a writer, I think the issue is that:
1. Gege does not flesh out characters as a whole (can't count how many times the man has said "i think" in the fan-book talking about his *own* creations) and so likely never thought through Gojo's character outside where he is directly concerned with the plot because he intended to kill him off from the start. this is, of course, not a smart approach, because it can make characters feel more like pawns than their own 4 dimensional person whose desires, wants, past, and motivations exists outside the narrative. Gojo kinda feels the same.
2. Gege actually despises Gojo. this isn't even a joke at this point, the man despises him. he revelled in the fact that his absence would make the year a great one, half-assed his way through the man's later cover art, lamented that his wife said she would rather marry Gojo than him if he were a real man, and continually makes other characters parrot how much the man is an unbearable prick (likely just his own thoughts, safe for Nanami) when nothing about his on-screen behaviour suggests that he is anything other than social and personable? the man was in a rush to kill him and was happy to see him go.
3. Gege does not make character deaths profound or meaningful because he barely gives us longer than two minutes to get to know em before Sukuna beats their ass into a pulp. Gojo doesn't even have flashbacks to his parents (gege said he was a spoilt child), whom I presume he would have loved since they seemed to have treated him well? or not, because they could have seen him more as a tool than a person?? (again, thanks to his shitty character building, things like this are never addressed) all these things that would otherwise make a death emotional or impactful, Gege does not care for. I mean, think of the number of characters who we have seen in their natural home environment for longer than a flashback (safe for Junpei, he doesn't count). If the characters aren't directly on screen or involved in a fight, the man doesn't bother, like the fact that we never even found out what tf Gojo even does when he's not on a mission, since he's gone so often, where he lives, or what he thinks to himself. all things that would've contextualised the character more.
all in all, the man went the clear cut route and so, only seeks to push the narrative forward as fast as possible; that's where the story falls short and fails to give itself and its cast space to breathe. so extrenuous portions about characters doing normal stuff like bonding, or god forbid, getting emotional and all that jazz to him is irrelevant if it isn't Sukuna punching the shit outta them. bro loves Sukuna so much he had Gojo, the cockiest mofo in the game (for good reason) rave about him AS HE IS DYING. you're telling me the last we ever hear or see of Gojo, he has not a single thought spared to Yuuji, whom he evidently cherishes (let down his infinity twice for him, despite knowing that Sukuna is inside him), nor Megumi, to whom he is the closest thing to a responsible father in the ENTIRE SERIES, but SUKUNA?! Gege and Sukuna is a love story for the ages.

Yeah, but just because it was planned out writing doesn't make it good writing. People aren't complaining about him pulling this from no where, people are complaining about its quality and inconsistency with the power system. Now don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. I not a hater and I am enjoying the manga, but you also can't deny how the quality of it has dropped, and how it feels like Akutami is just trying to rush to the end with big thoughtless action and with unneeded, undesired, poorly executed, plot twists.

I’ve heard this stretched theory from others in the community and I’m getting a little tired of hearing it. Yuta was not stressed during the gojo/sukuna fight because of the impending gojo body crossover. He was stressed because gojo is his mentor and friend and his life was constantly at risk during the fight. Yuta had no reservations when it was time to body swap. Hell it was him that made the recommendation in the first place ! Sure, he probably didn’t want to do it, but don’t rewrite past scenes. Y’all are not Gege. And I’m glad yall aren’t bc y’all reasoning don’t make any sense.

while it can be true that yuta was worried gojo might lose his life in combat against sukuna you can't take the fact that knowing that if he dies he has to swap his body with him makes him way more worried than he normally would.

Man no this was not planned out beforehand. During chapter 249 Yuta is thinking about whether sending him to go kill Kenjaku was the correct call, and whether Maki would have been better suited. Then he says "No, Rika would have been needed to reduce civilian deaths if Kenjaku's cursed spirits went wild after he died". There is no mention of the plan for Rika to eat Kenjaku and then take his ability. This is Yuta thinking to himself, so the excuse of "well he doesn't want the other characters in the story to know" is moot, they can't hear his thoughts. Obviously if this WAS thought up beforehand, Gege wouldn't want to spoil it by having Yuta just straight up spill the beans to the audience by thinking about it. But then Gege also should have included SOMETHING to indicate that there was some other reason Yuta was sent to fight Kenjaku and not Maki. Even Yuta like biting his lip or something and thinking to himself "And..." would have been plenty.
Yuta has been obsessing over this. It's the literal last thing he wanted to have to have happen. There is no reason for Yuta to effectively be lying to himself in regards to why he was sent to kill Kenjaku instead of Maki. So either Gege didn't think this up until after chapter 249, or Gege did think this up beforehand and messed up his character writing with Yuta. Gege is a good enough writer and has displayed the ability to foreshadow things really well in the past, so I refuse to believe that he just made an oopsie.
Also for the record, I do not have any strong feelings about Yuta taking over Gojo's body. I think it's fine, it makes sense considering what everyone's abilities are. The only reason I dislike it is because now we don't get to see Yuji and Todo popping off anymore.

I'm super pissed. We didn't need Kenjaku's gross ability, we didn't need to kill off Yuta's body forcing him to use Gojo's. We needed an asspull to bring back Gojo and Nobara and then the heroes win the day; a proper shonen ending. Gege is a dick to his fans.
Aye, make a whole manga and end it off with that ending let’s see how people would react. if you even actually get to the ending that is. Only making generic stuff is not gonna cut it. You have to make things different, instead of going with the “normal/generic” things. Also, gege always wanted to get gojo out of the picture since he is too powerful in the verse.
