I remember when my friends were shocked that I didn't know what a chopped cheese was so they went out and bought it for me. It's basically a chopped up cheeseburger, but it's so gooooooooood and unhealthy lol. Definitely recommend.
Cadet Bone Spurs Um the ingredients they usually use in any deli or bodega for sandwiches is not good quality. I've been living in NYC my whole life. You don't go to them for a $10 sandwich. The white bread they use are refined carbohydrates and have almost no nutritional value. The cheese is high in cholesterol, sodium, and bad fat. The beef is probably not that great either, but probably the best thing for you out of those three. There's a reason why these sandwiches at most cost $6 and even that's a lot.

I went to New York for spring break and searched for the chopped cheese at this particular place. My dad and I finally went there and both got the sandwich and sat on a bench and ate it. It was the best 😋

Macs2015 My two friends that are a couple were born and raised here since the 80s. They knew what a chopped cheese was and told me about it like 3 or so years ago. What they have in common with this video is that they're both from the Harlem, Inwood area so maybe it's local to that part of Manhattan?
I think it's local to East Harlem. I lived in different parts of NYC my whole life and I only learned about it once I moved there for high school. I don't think I've ever seen it sold below 96th street or in other boroughs.

I went to NYC Feb 7-9th this year and afterwards on our way back i had to make a stop and experience the chopped cheese for myself at Hajji"s Deli. I don't want to hype it up but honestly it was the best sandwich iv'e ever had in my life. It tastes even better than you can imagine! the bread is the real winner, the way they toast it on that press and the crunch all the way to the last bite. I am legit salivating thinking about it!!!
I'm born and raised in Richmond, VA, but my dad's family settled in Brooklyn when they came over from Italy, so I spent a lot of time up there. It wasn't this place, but my cousin took me for a chopped cheese once and it's so good. There's nowhere down here that makes it. I might have to see if someplace will do it special for me.
