- I COMBED OUT MY LOCS AFTER 29 YEARS!!! Comb out method for loc removal
I combed out my locs ( dreads , dreadlocks, dreadlocs) after 29 years of having them. My loc journey has come to an end. I used a rat tail comb, water, and mielle leave in conditioner. It took a total of 4 days. I documented the process of combing out my locs, the hair loss, and the emotions I faced throughout this transformative experience. After years, of consideration I decided that now was the time. At some point you have to choose your own path. Hair is a source of expression and freedom, so having my hair in one style for as long as I can remember, has left me often feeling confined. My hair has been such a huge aspect of my identity, so having my hair chosen for me greatly affected my perception of myself. I can no longer care what others think about me or what they want from me. I have to do what's best for me. Its what's in you, not on you. I owe it to myself and the younger version of me to lively freely and experience every aspect of myself. Watch to the end to see the results. Also stay tuned for part 2.
Can you guys believe it?!!
What products would you recommend?
When you walked into the camera I started crying. Why am I crying? I was just so happy for you. I chose to be Loc'd at 52. It's been almost 3 years. But...I am ready for my curls back. You are a beautiful queen. God bless you. ❤
Thank you so much, Queen! I appreciate you. & I definitely understand! Every journey has a beginning and an end, and you can always start them again. God bless you ❤️
Wow!!!!!! When Justice said TWINSIES! That’s the reason right there! Your baby identifies with you on another level. Jenna was the reason I went natural 10 years ago. I didn’t know how to take care of her hair so I started from scratch with mine. So beautiful ❤️🙏🏾
Thank you so much cuz! Yesss, that’s all she keeps saying. 🥰 I felt this comment so much, because though I tried my best I never really felt like I knew what I was doing when I cared for her hair. Now I’m learning we have the same exact hair type and what products work best on our hair and how often I should be moisturizing and deep conditioning. I didn’t know about any of that before. So this was definitely for my daughters, not just for me. ❤️
29 Years loc'd and you only shred that much hair? You go girl !!! You still retained so much length! You look beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much, love! I was so nervous about losing hair..I’m so grateful God allowed me to be left with a healthy amount 🙏🏽❤️✨
Now I can’t wait to see you with a new style
Ive only watched the first 5 mins and out of all the videos I have watched regarding life after locs. Your reasons is the most relatable. I cannot imagine having locs chosen for me at such a young age. I’ve had mine for 14 years and all I do is wear headwraps. I feel anxious about the change, but all I want is to feel my hair again and enjoy the freedom. Well done on pushing through with the take down. Your and your hair are beautiful 🤩
Husband in the background with the supporting comforting words! Husband for the win! 🏆 ... Your hair is so beautiful!!!! ❤
Thank you so much!! 🥰❤️
Understanding the importance of why the loc journey begins opens you up to when it’s time to end the journey and start new.
Proud of you‼️
Very well said, thank you love! ❤️
I love the loose natural look on you! So beautiful! Can’t wait to see all the ways you rock it. Congratulations on your new journey!
Thank you so much cuz!! 🥰✨❤️
Omg so beautiful 🥰thank you for being so transparent 🧡
Thank you for the support, it’s means a lot 🥰🧡
This was so beautiful! Welcome to a new journey. It’s time to fulfill that inner little girl dream ❤️
Thank you cuz, it feels like a rebirth. So transformative and fulfilling. ❤️
I almost cried this is so special! Your hair is beautiful and you are beautiful
You had me in tears this video is so beautiful on so many levels the words you were saying speak to so many things. Thank you for being vulnerable and taking us on this journey with you! I love the Hydratherma Naturals product line it works great on my hair. Take your time detangling, do it from the bottom up it also helps if you create sections and do one section at a time it’s less overwhelming 🥰 you look beautiful Queen😘
Thank you so so much, love! That means a lot to me. & Thank you for the tips, they are much needed! Lol 😩🥰❤️
I'm so proud of you and this is definitely a proud moment for you to enter into a new journey ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much sis, new beginnings!!! ❤️❤️❤️
🥰🥰 Change is Beautiful!! Love the new look🥰
Yess indeed! Appreciate you so much!!
I’m soooo happy for you! I know this decision wasn’t easy and I’m so proud of you for taking the leap. You look beautiful as always and Justice had me over here tearing up with the “Twinsies” comment! Yall are just everything! 🥹❤️
You’re about to make me cry, thank you so much, love! I stepped out of my comfort zone because I finally decided that there wasn’t much comfort there if I wasn’t staying 💯 with myself, I was just keeping everyone else comfortable. I can’t be boxed in, I have to grow and express myself, and experience every part of myself, and my daughter reaffirmed it for me! So grateful ❤️
Extremely proud of you 💞
Thank you so much ❤️
You have always been beautiful on the inside. I am someone from your last self, thought your location were amazing but you were always a kind and exceptional person. Happy you are doing this for you! Can’t wait to see the final result!
Thank you so much Natasha! I appreciate you and it was a blessing crossing paths with you and your beautiful family. Even though I haven’t seen you in ages I know your still that fun loving person I remember! I hope you all are doing well. ❤️
Omg! You’ve had locs since I met you, in ‘96! My god! You look great
Ikr thank you so much 🥰❤️
I thought I wrote a comment already, guess I didn't hit send.
I'm so proud of you for feeling through your past while taking out your locs. Your words were so inspiring and I resonated with you in a lot of ways. We are not defined by our past nor our physical appearance. I'm glad you did it for YOU. Growth is hard, but so worth it.❤ You are beautiful, I'm always on your side!
I thought you did too!! Thank you so much for always supporting me, Amanda! You’ve always been such a kind soul.. so grateful God allowed us to cross paths. You are beautiful inside and out, stay true to who you are, and never let fear keep you from being the best you. ❤️
Me and you are similar. I was also forced to have locks and never really got to experience my natural hair. I'm also combing them out now and I am super happy to be able to touch my natural hair freely❤ This video had me in tears because it feels great to know that I wasn't the only one so I thank you so much for sharing with us.
I’m so happy for you and honored to have connected with you on your journey! When I documented this I didn’t realize how many people would relate, I’m so glad I did. Sending you so much love, Ayanda!! ❤️
You’re going to be beautiful no matter what we are here for you take your time
Appreciate you fam
Oh my goodness I know this was not an easy decision for you Sis. This makes me emotional because being true to yourself is something that takes courage. What you said is so profound, when you change inside you want to express that on the outside! I’m with you sis! Always be true to yourself. And btw you are an amazingly beautiful person inside and out!… and that would still be true even if you had a baldy or ceaser ☺️
I love you sis, thank you so much! You’re such a beautiful soul always so genuine and so supportive of me and the fam. I really appreciate you. 😁❤️
I love your daughter's energy...ty for sharing

Thank you so much, love! 🥰❤️ It’s definitely a journey, I can see why people have multiple sets, the journey is transformative. But yes don’t comb them out unless you’re absolutely sure lol it’s such a tedious process. It felt like forever!!
I definitely remember hearing you were from Jamaica in school. So proud of you!!!

This exactly how I feel with my locs I feel stagnant, I need a change that’s why I started combing mines out
Yesss! Hair holds so much energy! I feel like when I combed mine out , there was an energetic purge… I let go of all things and people that were stagnant and negative.
Yea I had my locks in for like 7 years and idk what my curly hair looks like Orr feels like bc I got when them I was so young and I am know 13, but I am thinking about taking them out ..

A long time right!!
I can’t believe it lol 😱😱😱
Hi Justice
I’ve had my locs for 23 years…I was just thinking I had to cut them 😢. They weren’t chosen for me, however I was influenced to get them because my parents no longer wanted to keep up with hair maintenance. Watching this video I want to comb them out!
I totally understand! Follow your heart ❤️
I am back….successfully combed out 3 locs and could not do anymore. I ended up cutting my hair, and now I’m starting over with Freeform’s.❤❤
BE YOURSELF BABYGIRL! YOU KNOW I KNOW ABOUT THAT! LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! YOUR DADDY ABU!
Thank you, Abu and I love you too! ❤️
Update sis.
I started my locs in 02 and I've been depressed and last night my husband suggested cutting my hair and I decided to comb them out instead and I'm not ok sis UPDATE us.
Sending you so much love and positive energy sis! Update coming soon ❤️
Hey 👋 long time no see. I had no clue Locs can be combed out you look so Cute looking like Justice twin. Did you guys every get the PO Box #? Can she still fix size 10-12?
Heyyy! Thank you so much, I’m not sure about the P.O. Box, have to ask my husband but I’ll get back to you on that. ❤️
@@THEROYALCESARSLLC Ok cool let me know I can go by the post office next Friday that’s why i asked! So good to see you and Justice! Have a great night GOD bless y’all
Small sections. Comb from ends to root. Wash in twists.
Thank you for the tips, love! Definitely needed lol
@@THEROYALCESARSLLC I'm combing mine out after less than 2 years. I can't imagine 29 years and never touching my "hair texture". I know that has to feel different 😧
@@Beautifulbeliever oh wow, are you almost done? And yess it was truly a transformative experience. A whole identity shift, you know how closely our identify is tied to our crown.. so I’ve had moments like whoa I’ve been out here living without even knowing that aspect of me. My image being chosen for me from such a young age and never really having the courage to question or change it. It’s been interesting. I think there’s so much beauty in the loc journey and knowing when it’s time to come to an end.
I wish I could have seen this 5 months ago. I have so many tips for you. But I'm thinking you figured out how to detangle by now. You have to detangle in sections. Once you get done with a section twist or Plat that section. Watch other natural UA-camrs for information on how to take care of your beautiful hair. You'll be fine.❤💛
Thank youuu 🥹❤️ I have to do a video and give everyone an update on how the last 6 months have been for me. Lots of UA-cam, and experimenting with products lol ❤️
@@THEROYALCESARSLLC I will definitely be tuning in for your update. I subscribed to your Channel. You have a beautiful family. ❤
@@msbelindab5231 Thank youuu 🤗🙏🏽❤️
We should refer to other women…”Carla with the lacefront” 😅
Lmaooo
I agree locs are good but you have to follow your way what you think you should go bye everyone wants a change no one can tell you otherwise
Oh and how you get the merch I see your shirt
Exactly! Appreciate the support fam. We will have the merch for sale soon. Trying to fine tune the right design. Those were sample shirts I was wearing.

I think you’re 32 years old that’s my guess
You’re right! I’ll be 32 in June, God willing 🙏🏽❤️✨
@@THEROYALCESARSLLC Yay!
