My thinking is that part of the Sinhalese are of Telugu origin and it might have worked well. But, I also know that part of the Sinhalese are from Tamil origin.
My thinking is that since Srilanka is said to have been ruled by Naidu kings also, there should have been problem created by them also.

I don't think Tamil Eelam can survive without the support of rest of us Indians. You have to trade your goods to make money. I have heard that Tamil Eelam includes few parts of neighboring states like Kerala etc. That will not happen as these states are part of Indian federal system. Your Tamil country will bordered by Indian federal states and the Indian ocean, which obviously will be controlled by Indian navy alone. Tamil Eelam will not survive under these circumstances.
