Fantastic Drumming, but I don't like how it cuts to a different angle every 3 seconds. It makes it really hard to actually see what he is doing and overall less enjoyable to watch
As a drummer, I don't need to see what he is doing to hear and understand what he is doing. You must be a fan, singer, keys or axe handler lmao! This is kind of like being in the tenth row and complaining about being unable to see what pick the guitarist is using or which barbiturates the singer just laced the backup singers drink with hahaha!
@jimmythepirate494 as not a drummer, which is the vast majority of viewers, we like to see . This constant cutting sucks for more than one reason. It's cool you're a drummer though
maybe because it is honestly all about technique and I personally feel no soul in this kind of play. It's a bit like that crazy skilled violin player in the subway who's been obsessed with technique for his entire life but shows no expression on face or in the fingers. Here this dude has the same body language and face expression as he was scrubbing his dishes or his dirty knickers. He makes it look too easy and that's why it is so booooooriiiiiing. There are tons of drummers out there who have killer skills like this dude has, but only a few have real musicality in their drumsticks. Who cares about the fact that it says "280bpm"? Just give us some soul.
@@WeyrdSonRecords How can you say there is no soul ? He maybe has the soul of a destroyer, not everything in music is about warmth, feelings and "musicality"... How is there no musicality in what he is playing ? How come that if their is "no expression" on his face it would mean he has no soul or feelings ? And if you can't hear it or fell his energy and music, it doesn't mean it is not there. Why would you even reply to me if you don't even care and share my passion for his music ? My comment was a form of support for him, I don't need you to tell me that I'm wrong, or that he is "soulless", go back to your "sugarfoot and magictrick spinning jazzy movements", and don't mention "prog metal" drummers or whatever you call "drumming with soul", wtf is it anyways ?. they do what they do, good for them... Speaking of violins, many masterpieces in classic music are incredibly fast, and the players show nothing more than pure concentration or constipated face, precisely because it's fast, they are not dancing around... Do you know Mozart ? "Too many notes..." would say the Emperor, because he is the soulless noob. your arguments are not mature because you have none to give.
@@sardaukar2809 chill out brother. Something you missed in my comment is that I said "I PERSONALLY feel no soul in this kind of playing". I said PERSONALLY, not that you were right or wrong. I mean, I’ve watched the whole video and the guy’s dynamics and velocity are all linear, on the same level from first to last second. It looks like autopilot stuff. But as a drummer myself, I know that if you want to play that fast you need to build a skill in gesture that is extremely precise and requires inner smoothness. But again, personally I find it boring. And what you are wrong about here is that you assume is that I’m referring to soul or jazz drummers. I’ve been listening a bit to Lorna Shore for example, and I was so impressed by their brutality but again, when I watch the drummer, I’m bored because he has that exact same facial expression all through the song. I once was into Yoni Madar techniques. My heroes nowadays in terms of drumming are Aric Improta, Ralph Alexander, Eloy Casagrande. Musicians you can see sweating and taking risks behind a kit because their gestures are generous and heavy the same way they can be fine tuned to the extreme. Watching this guy makes me feel like watching a robot building a blast beat the same way he’s crashing a cymbal. I note that from the moment I mentionnés violin, you assumed I was speaking about classical. Once again, you’ve missed the point. But I’ll give you that because I intentionally didn’t go in details just to make sure you wouldn’t turn a specific comment against me. But here it is: I’ve seen so many violinists, or duos and trios from Eastern Europe with violinists having that legacy where you can see their practice is like a second nature but sometimes second nature turns into a norm. Funny that you brought Mozart into the mix. Your comment would’ve had more impact if you were mentioning Bartok or Shostakovich when it comes to crazy successions of notes played. Even Bach. I’ve played played a bit of cello in my life and love classical music so yeah, I think I know a bit about it. And why did I take the time and energy to reply to you? Simply because you were wondering as to why the so little views. I shared with you my point of view and I know lots of people are thinking the same. Just giving you another point of view opposed to yours. Because it’s not because you love it so much that everyone can be sensitive to it. Now, about the maturity, again just chill out. I could feel your level of frustration was pretty close from making you crossing a line. I’ve been "mature" enough to remain respectful without telling you were or weren’t this or that. So I suggest you do the same and don’t start escalating with this kind of comment. Peace.
Dude that part at 2:44 sounds almost like it's not on 1, but like a 16th note off. Maybe that's how it was written, but just that little tiny pause was awesome!
O cara parece a Samara do filme o chamado !
Obviously an incredible drummer. However, a playthrough like this feels super disingenuous when you see a kit fully mic'd up, but then the audio is completely sample replaced. The section at 0:42 just looks so strange to hear 127 velocity rimshot blast with perfectly consistent snare sounds despite the fact the stick height is super inconsistent and has nowhere near enough momentum behind it to make the the snare sound anywhere near as powerful as the sample replaced snare. I'm fine with drums sounding like this on an album, by why not use the actual recorded audio for a playthrough video when you've already gone to all the effort of mic'ing the kit up. I think it's important for people to know how stuff like this sounds when played by a human. Obviously the 280 bpm blasts will not sound as perfect, but it's honestly sick to hear someone play stuff like this with real audio, even if it's not as clean or powerful during faster sections. And I 100% believe this guy can play this well enough that the real audio would still sound great. Sorry to single you guys out here, you are nowhere near the only person that does this, and even I've done this myself in the past, but I hugely regret it. Either way, music sounds sick, keep it up. You guys fucking rip.
@@kennyhouser3467 It's not triggers. I don't really have any issue with triggers, especially not for kick. Everything in this was obviously sample replaced and quantised, which is quite different that just having a trigger on some things.
This could quite possibly break my brain trying to figure all this out
This easily some of the cleanest extreme drumming I've seen in a while dude. Super creative too
