"Gilgamesh II", a collection of eight pieces for the unusual trio of bassoon, synthesizer, and percussion, is composed by various composers from different countries, recorded in Los Angeles by some of the city's best musicians and produced by Honiball Joseph at the Gilgamesh Arts & Culture Foundation in 2022.
the album captures the beauty and power of the music in a way that is sure to transport listeners to the world of the Epic of Gilgamesh, an ancient Sumerian poem that tells the story of a king who seeks immortality.The composers have drawn inspiration from the poem's themes of love, loss, friendship, and the search for meaning, creating a beautiful and moving exploration of the human condition.
