    • @bycristinasilvia

      Thanks! Yes, you can use your drawings to make patterns. You can find here a tutorial that explains how to clean your drawings: ua-cam.com/video/kTxvLKLs5QU/v-deo.html (it's for watercolors, but it's how I remove the background from my drawings) and how to make a pattern in PS: ua-cam.com/video/uB0IG2x2wPc/v-deo.html

    How do you make the background contents transparent?!

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  6 років тому +1

      When you make a new document, you have an option for Background Content that's just under the color mode. The default option is white, but you can click on the drop-down menu and set it to Transparent. If you can't find it, you can make a new empty layer and then unlock and delete the background layer.

    How would you save your photoshop pattern and use it in illustrator?

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  6 років тому +1

      I usually use Illustrator for patterns. If you want to use Photoshop, you can either save it as a raster image and open it in Illustrator or convert it to an Illustrator swatch: ua-cam.com/video/uP9vHo3LIno/v-deo.html

  • @serenat627

    for some reason there is no background preset that says transparent on mine

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  6 років тому

      You can start with a white background, then you can unlock it and delete it.

    I don't get the "click on the canvas" step... if I click, nothing happens, no window appears, I have to do the ellipse by myself

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  4 роки тому

      What version of Photoshop are you using? This should work in CS6 and CC. You can also try to resize it from the Properties panel (Window > Properties). Anyway, a fixed size is not that important. You can use any size you want, just make sure it's a circle.

    • @orco123
      @orco123 4 роки тому

      @@bycristinasilvia I'm using CS5 Extended. I could do the dot pattern, only I had to do the ellipse the way I said before. Great tutorial, thank you very much, very useful.

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  4 роки тому

      Glad you like it. I think that's the issue. The option is only available in newer versions.

    but how do you make the dots smaller?

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  6 років тому +2

      If you apply the pattern by going to Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern (or if you create a pattern layer from the bottom of the Layers panel), you will be able to scale the pattern. Or you can choose a smaller size for the dots when you make the pattern.

  • @Skyerinx

    can you teach me because I dont have the ruler in my photoshop 2020

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  4 роки тому +1

      You can open them from View > Rulers or by pressing Ctrl + R. They are in all versions of Photoshop, or at least the more recent ones.

    • @Skyerinx
      @Skyerinx 4 роки тому

      @@bycristinasilvia omg thank you so much!

    • @Skyerinx
      @Skyerinx 4 роки тому

      @@bycristinasilvia but how can i make the dots more smaller?

    • @Skyerinx
      @Skyerinx 4 роки тому

      i mean make the space of every polcadots become smaller

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  4 роки тому

      @@Skyerinx That depends on how large you canvas is and the size of the dots. The sizes I used in this tutorial are just an example. You can do this with any size you want. This is something you have to set in the beginning because you won't be able to edit it after the pattern is made.
