HOW TO REPLACE A SLIDE-OUT CABLE THAT IS NOLONGER IN PLACE.
In this video Dan shows how he replaces a broken cable when the old one cannot be used to thread the new one and when fixtures inside the RV prevent being able to see the cables or pulleys.
I’ve watched every single accu-slide cable replacement video, including the manufacturer’s, and this is the best one!
Thank You.
Great video. I am battling with slide out issues as we speak. I see you have re-enforced your cable bracket, how did you do that? My cable brackets have pulled away from the wall and I think I need to do the same thing you did to re-enforce them. Thanks
HI Glen, My cable brackets pulled off immediately after getting the trailer. So, I didn't do the reinforcement myself. It looks like the key is to reinforce from the backside of the wall. They fixed the aluminum plate to the wall with rivets. I don't know what is on the other side of the wall that made the rivets work. They must have put another plate on the other side of the wall for the rivet to grab. Then they put the bracket screws into the plate.
Please let me know how it goes. I hope it is easy for you.
Excellent work sir. Thank you for the good close ups of the pulleys.
You are very welcome
Well done, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
