    I find I'm more accurate if I stand closer to the board - I'm deadly from 3 ft away.

    Lots of Practice, grouping your darts and working on those doubles. Consistency is key !!!
    Any movement of your darts towards the sides with your wrist and your dart will go all over the place.
    Plus keep that back foot planted to the ground so you aren’t doing a balancing circus act.
    Have fun is the main thing in darts. Hopefully you all shoot em well and if you develop better maybe join a tour whether it’s in Canada, America, Europe, Asia, etc...

      Alan Foley practise I started when I was 8 and seem to be able to hit an average of 100 at the age of 13. Just keep your strong foot to the side of the oake how ever you spell it and spot your target, for us on it keep your arm at almost a perfect right angle, pull il back to about 45* and release at about 105* then watch your darts glide into your target

    I'm getting into playing since we have a dartboard at home that went unused for ages. The problem I'm running into with trying the technique in the video is that my body proportions make it tough to line up a shot with a 90 degree angle of my elbow. I'm 6'4 and quite long in the limbs, which presents a difficulty in aiming that way.

  • @rollopolloboymarch1074

    Its the same with every sport. Body alignment, mechanics, and gravity are all taken into account. Same with punching in boxing, throwing a bowling ball, javelin, discus or pitching in baseball. And being less tense and comfortable is key.

    People making fun, but it takes alot to turn pro and get a chance for a TV tourny. Hes proud so he should be. Also seems Like a good decent guy. Check out his other video. You know of camera/stage how high the averages are? Then you also have to handle all the media attention. Plus on stage. All the camera's. The audiance. Sponsors. Family etc. If I got that chance to perform on tv. I probably would have collapsed from all these extra pressure. I would take 2 bottles of vodka and some other crap to walk on that stage.

    that works if your right eye dominant that's a bad tip for somebody who is right-handed but left eye dominant or vice versa I shoot left handed right eye dominant those tips don't seem to work for me

    • @FrankBoston
      @FrankBoston 7 років тому

      I was just getting ready to ask if you had any advice for a right hander who is strongly left-eye dominant and then saw this comment and reply. I'd love (I'm not asking someone to compile one for me) to know all the opposite eye dominant players so I could see how they addressed the issue. I'm a former teaching pro (golf). The main reason I could never get over that hump into real competitive playing is because it took nearly 15 years for the discovery that I was left eye dominant. It was a relief to finally figure out why I had so many of the quirks I did.....especially putting (cocking my head to look at the back of the ball with my left, instead of right eye). I'm new to darts but throwing hundreds every day for close to a year. I'm getting better. Still, I feel I need to find all the help I can from the greats that have to deal with the whole dominant eye issue. Sorry I rambled. I'm just relieved to see others fighting the same battle.

      I actually got a good suggestion left foot first angled to the right how I used to shoot now I shoot left foot angle to the left pivot my hips to the right my right eye is in Focus now I hit a nine Mark and 21 other marks tonight and Cricket first time trying it playing out one 4 games tonight it was awesome anyway I've just been working on watching right-handed people shoot and putting my feet that way it seemed to help so if you you need to watch left-handed people and stand that way and shoot with your dominant foot but that's been working for me thanks trying it for the last week I had one of my best night ever just got home

    Before a player becomes ANY good you need to put in at LEAST
    1,500 to 2,500 hours of REAL practice . Pros at the circuit level have 4,000 to
    6,000 hours in at Minimum.
    You should NOT practice more then 5 - 6 hours a day. Any more then that and frustration will end causing you to become worse.
    The number ONE thing is a POSITIVE attitude and NOT to get FRUSTRATED at NOT making a shot or losing in points .
