You call it really bad at darts. I call it freestyle acupuncture.
Amazing :D
I find I'm more accurate if I stand closer to the board - I'm deadly from 3 ft away.
Quo Vadis lol
Get on my level; I found that I'm deadly from more than 10 ft away... I can possibly strike bystander at that distance.
Beat me I can push the darts into the board
@@somethingsomething8812 I also do that bro 😂😂
😄😜👍
I watched this and then literally hit a tops finish for the first time in my life on my first board that has been here two days. Following through from the chin makes a gigantic difference!
Lots of Practice, grouping your darts and working on those doubles. Consistency is key !!!
Any movement of your darts towards the sides with your wrist and your dart will go all over the place.
Plus keep that back foot planted to the ground so you aren’t doing a balancing circus act.
Have fun is the main thing in darts. Hopefully you all shoot em well and if you develop better maybe join a tour whether it’s in Canada, America, Europe, Asia, etc...
Who else is here after watching bdg’s “it’s time to get good at darts”?
Good tips. My stance and grip is good and everything is balanced. I'm hitting 12's when I'm aiming at 20
Alan Foley practise I started when I was 8 and seem to be able to hit an average of 100 at the age of 13. Just keep your strong foot to the side of the oake how ever you spell it and spot your target, for us on it keep your arm at almost a perfect right angle, pull il back to about 45* and release at about 105* then watch your darts glide into your target
iTrickyGT thanks I'll give it a shot
iTrickyGT I doubt you averaged 100 at 13 lol bloody liar
Alan that was funny :D
Aim for 18's then pal you should hit 20's hahaha
I'm getting into playing since we have a dartboard at home that went unused for ages. The problem I'm running into with trying the technique in the video is that my body proportions make it tough to line up a shot with a 90 degree angle of my elbow. I'm 6'4 and quite long in the limbs, which presents a difficulty in aiming that way.
Its the same with every sport. Body alignment, mechanics, and gravity are all taken into account. Same with punching in boxing, throwing a bowling ball, javelin, discus or pitching in baseball. And being less tense and comfortable is key.
People making fun, but it takes alot to turn pro and get a chance for a TV tourny. Hes proud so he should be. Also seems Like a good decent guy. Check out his other video. You know of camera/stage how high the averages are? Then you also have to handle all the media attention. Plus on stage. All the camera's. The audiance. Sponsors. Family etc. If I got that chance to perform on tv. I probably would have collapsed from all these extra pressure. I would take 2 bottles of vodka and some other crap to walk on that stage.
So the best tips are: throw how it feels natural. Keep your head still. Make sure you fully extend the wrist and arm.
He is that guy that played for Canada in the World Cup 😂😂 celebrating every single dart 😶😂😂
Góðan Daginn it is. As a Canadian I was so mad. Felt so bad for John Part. He was an embarrassment to Canadian darts in that tournament.
No way, that dude is a true beauty! He had the weekend of his life and enjoyed it more than most of us will enjoy ours.
Link?
Build Your Game Hockey Training i agree, nothing wrong with being happy
He celebrates when he misses
IT works really well thank you so much
I loved Norman's antics on the stage of the World Cup even though everyone else seemed to be embarrassed.
It’s finally time to get good at darts
This a real athlete.
Do u spin the dart in your hands? When i watch at tv, dart always spin before it hits the board
that works if your right eye dominant that's a bad tip for somebody who is right-handed but left eye dominant or vice versa I shoot left handed right eye dominant those tips don't seem to work for me
I was just getting ready to ask if you had any advice for a right hander who is strongly left-eye dominant and then saw this comment and reply. I'd love (I'm not asking someone to compile one for me) to know all the opposite eye dominant players so I could see how they addressed the issue. I'm a former teaching pro (golf). The main reason I could never get over that hump into real competitive playing is because it took nearly 15 years for the discovery that I was left eye dominant. It was a relief to finally figure out why I had so many of the quirks I did.....especially putting (cocking my head to look at the back of the ball with my left, instead of right eye). I'm new to darts but throwing hundreds every day for close to a year. I'm getting better. Still, I feel I need to find all the help I can from the greats that have to deal with the whole dominant eye issue. Sorry I rambled. I'm just relieved to see others fighting the same battle.
I actually got a good suggestion left foot first angled to the right how I used to shoot now I shoot left foot angle to the left pivot my hips to the right my right eye is in Focus now I hit a nine Mark and 21 other marks tonight and Cricket first time trying it playing out one 4 games tonight it was awesome anyway I've just been working on watching right-handed people shoot and putting my feet that way it seemed to help so if you you need to watch left-handed people and stand that way and shoot with your dominant foot but that's been working for me thanks trying it for the last week I had one of my best night ever just got home
Charas Mayhem thanks for that advice work awesome one four games of cricket tonight hit at 9 mark 21 other mark all I did was put my feet on a 30 degree angle to the left instead of the right instead of using the circle in my thumb I use the side of my thumb as the AIM worked awesome
@@johnknottiii3815 Where did you learn grammar, not one comma or full stop and capital letters where they shouldn't be which completely change the meaning of the word (Mark), I'm not joking when I say I couldn't understand what you were saying. Either learn this stuff or if you know it, don't be so lazy.
Thanks for the tips Mr absolute stranger 🤔
thank you so much this will really help me in the future! =D
Good video and nice darts room in the house.
+545 for being a Canadien's fan and a great vid!
We won just because of you. THE BEST
I see he's sporting a tri-colour shamrock badge. My man 🇮🇪☘
I watched this video and instantly threw a 180 thanks man
The time has come. The time to get good at darts
Thank You this helped a lot....GREAT VIDIO
John Norman :D what a legend from World Cup :DDDD
I was impressed with how your darts landed in the board before you threw them 😂😂😂
Thanks for the help
I just wanna know how to throw properly after getting through dartitis . . .
He should have stopped after "number one, be comfortable". After that it's completely unique to the player and can't be taught. He's explaining what's comfortable to him. It's not going to be the same for everyone.
Thanks for that. I Just rehung my dartboard a week ago. My brother-In law plays pub tourneys at the weekend and tried to advise me about how i throw, but i can't just imitate a person's throw, and yeah i'm starting to think the same as yourself. I'll PRACTICE and see what happens. It IS satisfying to catch the fat section of the 20 bed with 3 darts
@@ako1439 Id try putting a little spin on the dart. I think you pretty much just have to brute force it by trying a million different things and finding out what works for you.
He forgot to mention if playing Doubles, you MUST embarrass your partner by acting like a numpty and when playing singles act even worse. He made a fool of himself at the PDC World Cup of Darts with John Part.
Kevin Tucker yes he did lol
I felt mortified on Part's behalf, that was an embarrassing display from a very average player
I like how the ad for the Texas Hold 'em covers up a lot of the video.... :(
I love darts
What darts are those? I’ve been looking for barrels just like them.
Before a player becomes ANY good you need to put in at LEAST
1,500 to 2,500 hours of REAL practice . Pros at the circuit level have 4,000 to
6,000 hours in at Minimum.
You should NOT practice more then 5 - 6 hours a day. Any more then that and frustration will end causing you to become worse.
The number ONE thing is a POSITIVE attitude and NOT to get FRUSTRATED at NOT making a shot or losing in points .
Thanks dude :)
Nice video :)
Oh , youre here too :)
LOL I'm everywhere :)
Can you used the same principles and applied it for lighter DARTS
how about "practice 1-2 hours" every day ?
@HAPPY MAN ;-
Borer beetles !?! 🙂
Guys i cant get my arm at a straight angle idk every time i try my lower arm leans a little towards left and if i try to get it straight it feels really unconfortable, am i broken?
I am playing darts recently bcoz we are in lockdown but I keep changing my throw when ever I hit a bad score any suggestions because some throws I feel uncomfortable but throw ok but my most comfortable throws I don’t throw as good???
I knew where he was from at the second or third word lol fellow newf here
Very informative. I didn't know pro darts players wore jerseys.
This video helped me out, but it took awhile to get over the Habs logo on the wall...
thanks a lot for the big help..mabuhay ka!
is it better to twist the dart as you throw it so it spins?
I used to prefer throwing with some spin on my darts; it is with the grip; I can't get it right every throw!
I feel spinning darts drive slightly deeper into a board!
Only now im starting to practice playing dart. Literally just now when i posted this comment
Did you throw your phone with a 90 degrees angle elbow and everything?
Its time to get good at darts!
Practice Practice Practice Practice Practice
But how much metres is it
I am learning this so I can continue to throw makeup brushes at my sister😘
Go Habs go!
nice advices👍👍
Does anyone know what darts John plays with?
24g Wolfies
My secret is about 2.5 to 4 beers. Anything outside of that and I'm horrible.
Today I'm having a competition with the lads... There are 5 of us and 20 rounds.
The one who scores least points and wins least rounds has to drink ketchup straight from the bottle. :(
do you spin the dart as you release it?
Like a double back flip kind of rotation? I only managed 1 spin tho
I prefer to throw with some spin on my darts, it's in the grip, but I can't get it right every throw! The spin must have as little wobble as possible, to be accurate! I feel spinning darts drive slightly deeper into boards!
Do you have a spin on your throw?
I used to have some spin with my darts, I liked it, but couldn't keep it like that!
It is in the grip!
I think a spinning dart pegs into a board slightly deeper! 🙂
Which type of dart you''ll recommend to me if I am beginner? please reply
So amazing with full of confidence and 💯% skills.
You are good pro. Best of the best.
Throw like a pro boom !
I have those same darts
which darts are that?
this was helpfull
what accent is that>? sounds a bit irish? with american?
He's a Newfoundlander.
wow that definately has irish in it somewhere?!
@@wayneg6831 No! He just lands new Founders. Its a foundation finder, which estimates establishments.
nice people but how can l improve my mastering skills
Good pro
Nice
I can't tell if this guy is american, irish, Welsh, Canadian or Australian with that accent lol
That is pure Canadian
Just Newfoundland
Release er with authority!
Is he standing too close. It's supposed to be 7 feet 9¼ inches you throw from. Decent advice anyway.
Next celebrate like a pro!
Desperate for this. Office has a dart board and I played literally the worst round of darts in the history of Canada on Friday. Time for practice.
Is he spinning the dart with his fingers on the throw???? Can't tell.
it's time to get good at the darts
Phil Helmuth vibes?
I watched this video 10 times and I still can't throw like a pro.
Practice bro. It takes hours to git gud at darts. Unless you are born with talent.
Muscle memory is so hard to train. haha
Hope you are better by now! Concentrate/focus! Watch the how to videos! I feel inspired by them and watching players in action, on videos!
John Norman hit a 180 and didn't give it the large one...wtf
Great advice I`m sure ....but I am still sh*t at darts .
The secret of how to hold the dart ....is not revealed
Light but not firm lol
right im off to turn pro
so... I'm not 100% sure what how I do throw, but I am 99% sure where it will land.
How would i believe in this guy when the 1st 3 darts he throw was actually edited
Never heard tell of him
D was taken to the frat
Gun
Shadows all over that board
In other news. The silencer !!!!!!
nice trophy.... joint third, lmfao
Better then you
Sounds easy I go to what he said and my darts go flying where im not aiming bahahahahha
Vince
Knn! Talk smlj? Spider waiting for u...
dont celebrate every time you throw three darts XD
Fake start
the mix of a dublin and canadian accent is confusing haha
It's a typical Newfoundland accent.
Is this the guy that looked like a psychotic player that played with JP at the World Cup last year. I think he was needing a few drinks to chill. Never seen a player get so excited over a good shot. What's the saying..."act like you've been there before. Nonetheless...he played well and looked like he frustrated a few players which is hard to do ....in darts. Well done jn.
Who?
Camera movies and he's like rate in front of it loo
☝️👍💯
What accent is this ??
tHe ReAL DEal he's from Newfoundland
yea sounds irish?!?!?!
Is that a little bit of a Irish accent...
