If Bo doesn't hit close to a .300 average, he isn't worth keeping. he is below average on defense so if he can't hit, he is a liability. The number 1 reason why the Jays had such a bad season this year was the lack of offense from Bo. Can he rebound and have a great offensive season. Yes. Will that be enough for the Jays to be competitive. Maybe. Do the jays need to add a big bat at the DH position. Absolutely.
100%. The defense has gotten better, but it’s still not great. If Bo and Springer produce at the start of this season, maybe we’re at a different point. This bullpen is so horrendous that I don’t know if it matters, but maybe we don’t sell at the deadline if we would’ve had some offensive production.
@@LockedOnBlueJays Yes 100% agree. Too many players had slow starts or long periods of production slumps. No one was more surprised at how poor Turner was for way too much of this season. Also losing three important pieces of your bull pen didn't help either. No doubt if the team had gotten just a average season from Turner, Bo and Springer we may have been buyers at the deadline.
One thing no one points out is consistent right leg knee and calf issue and why he keeps injuring it. It is obvious in the way he hits he puts his entire body weight twisting on his right leg thereby causing the leg issues, they will get worse unless he changes the way he hits. Bo is not in for a long career, the Jays need to deal him asap and get something decent back while it is still possible.
Traded or not, while Bo’s absence will hurt it will not mean curtains. Considering mutual interest, Vladdy signing long term seems a certainty. This means two impact bats have to be acquired. One to replace Bo and the other to strengthen the offence. I think that’s what they’ll do if Bo is traded.
Bichette has been brooding all season. He only had one month where he was decent offensively (May: .280 BA, .731 OPS). They should consider trading him in the off-season to get value for him (e.g. Brent Rooker). I don't think Bichette is washed up; he'll do fine on another team.
Only problem with Rooker is he’s almost exclusively a DH, but he would do numbers on this team. If Bo doesn’t want to be here long term, and with the injury history, I wouldn’t hate moving on from him to get some assets back.
@@bogreen5204 Fair enough. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. However, I think for the sake of his own career and that of the Blue Jays, he should revive his career elsewhere as his days in Toronto are over. I wish him well on another team, where he'll no doubt return to form.

Kiner-Falefa would of been a great replacement for Bo Bichette. Less pop but a better defensive shortstop. One big problem. Atkins traded Kiner-Falefa. A definition of insanity is letting Ross Atkins make important decisions and continue to expect different results.

Not saying you said this, but a lot of jays fans were all in on Bo bichette last season, saying we should keep him instead of Vlad because he plays a “premium” position. And now this season it’s completely flipped. Overall, I’d rather have Vladdy than Bo mostly due to Vladdy embracing the city/country and the power that he brings to the team. Completely fair to want vladdy over Bo
Bo isn't the answer for this Bluejays team. Tbh....all the prospects they got so far for everyone they've traded is already making a diminished farm system lucrative again. These kids if produced properly should be great ball players and the Jays will be the new Baltimore in 3-5 years with a strong young core built around a few veteran players
Bo has declined, at least here, so maybe he wants out because it isn't working here. Maybe somewhere else. He could be upset that they didn't offer him a contract this past off season. That could be on his mind. But I would like to point out, they didn't offer anything to Vlad really that is significant. But Vlad is doing his thing. Why doesn't Bo? Is he injured? Bo maybe doesn't like the management. Whatever the case, if he wants out of the team, the Jays should get someone to replace him that wants to play here. If this is the case. Unless he comes out to say anything, like the internet, this is all really in the air. If they trade him....who knows the return. If anything, I would keep Vlad, sign him, dump Bo. They have prospects now to maybe fill that role. Anyway, that is my thoughts.
Seems like your thinking is close with Brayden’s. It sucks that we have to have this conversation, but something obviously has not been right with Bo this season.
