I have a friend who lives in Chilliwack but he very secretive to show his neighborhood or around although I want to know because Chilliwack looks gorgeous with lakes, parks and mountains.. really enjoy your video!
It is pretty cool, we actually have a good few spots like these out here, I've yet to try the Burnaby Air Park, but that's the biggest one as far as I'm aware. I like that this place has lots of variety so you can try out all sorts of stuff!
Nice video, I actually live relatively close to there (Vancouver Island.) I had a few questions about your bike, the first one being how you like the geometry. I’m used to riding low-end XC bikes (not very confidence inspiring on rough trails) so I was wondering how much nicer the Growler 40 would be over rough stuff. Also, how is it at climbing? I’ve heard it does pretty well given the slack head angle, but just wanted to know someone’s genuine opinion on it.
I find the geometry to be quite nice on the downhill sections, and the 29x2.6" tires help to absorb a good portion of bumps when run at low psi. as for climbing, it is a decent bike at climbing, but struggles slightly on tight switchbacks and steeper climb sections, still a good overall bike. I like to compare it to an enduro in terms of geo, its 64deg headtube angle makes it a good downhill bike, and the 29" tires help it maintain speed over obstacles. I ride it 4 days a week most weeks and never find it to be out of my comfort zone. I will probably be coming out to the island over the summer to ride some trails out that way, but all of that is still tentative ;)
@@slowspoke1027 I haven't really ventured outside of the Southern Island for bike trails, but Hartland bike park at Mount Work is pretty good. I've been there tons of times, and it offers a good selection of tech, jumps and flow trails with switchbacks.
@@nybotor1 I'll have to add that to my list then, when I come over there I'll probably spend a few days exploring different areas (it's expensive to make daytrips to the island 😆)
Looks good! Cool to see they're taking out the wooden lips now.
We need to check this out, didn't even know it existed. :) Thanks for the video tour.
Not as exciting as Penzer (on the jump side of things) but definitely a cool little park!
Nice video, hopefully i will be able to ride there sometime soon
It could use a bit of work, but it was a fun little ride considering the wet weather 😄 it should be good in the summer when it can dry out a bit!
nice place to practice, almost same with the one in Burnaby

Chilliwack is definitely a beautiful place, from cultus lake and Vedder mountain, to the Fraser River, lots of beautiful areas to ride!
Looks like an awesome spot for progression!

You should timelapse when you fix up berms to add more variety to your videos, personally I love watching berm timelapses
Let’s go!
Next time you gotta come 😉
I actually like the intro

@@slowspoke1027 Thank you very much for the info! You'll have fun on the Island if you ever come riding here.
@@nybotor1 if you have suggestions on which trail systems are good or which specific trails I should hit, let me know 😄
