I'll definitely need to check that out. I'm a big fan of hexadecimal, mainly because I see it all the time in web design with color hex codes. Ya know, I would love to do a puzzle using hexadecimal some day... I'm putting it on my list of ideas to brainstorm...
Great video as always and another great submission from our community. Cant wait for my players to start doing some dungeon delving and have to face this
Ah, thank you Aceman! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on the videos. And, agreed. I'm having a lot of fun working with our Discord to highlight some of their ideas. Hope this runs well for ya. Cheers!
I'm building a pyramid and this is perfect! The creature at the center is the ancient ruler Khepri, so I'm changing the phrase to Exalt Khepri. So perfect thanks!!
I will probably use this but I would put the symbols on the sarcophagi and then when a lit candle is put in the hand of a mummy, that number is "activated" so the solution is to put a lit candle in the hands of the 8, 2 and 1-mummy the only sarcophage that doesnt do anything (4) will then be a secret door or treasure alcove
I think instead of having the clue being written (11 times) around the main doorway, they can be found throughout the room. That way the party would be encouraged to really explore the room and ask questions about the layout and items therein.
I Really liked this one, I would also add a chance of real mummies to break out of some of the sarcophagi in case of too many wrong pressure plates tries.
I'm with ya on this. But, I will probably include a combat scene with mummies regardless on whether or not they solved it correctly... mwahaha! **evil DM laugh**
You can change the words to Bone Crusher. The wrong pressure plates either pressed or not pressed animates the bones into skeletons that will attack the party. For example if they stand on the octagon and square it animates 3 skeletons one for the square, 2 lines and 1 line that were incorrectly activated. The skeletons will have 11 HP, AC 11, 2 claw attacks +1 doing 11 slashing damage. They are immune to all damage except bludgeoning.
Nice. I dig this alternative way to run the puzzle. Well done! Seems like you have encountered a horde of relentless skeletons in a dungeon before? Hmmm... lol. :)
Great video. I like the two doors but I would make the second door lead to loot or to troll an fast exit out of the dungeon and now have to go all the way back. I don't believe both should lead to the same location, to me that would throw a bone to the players. Now then one thing I will change is. When they step on a pressure plate the green turn yellow, turn red then the sounds of a gone ringing. It won't hurt the players but confused them. You see, the players might not notice but the one that trigger is now curse with a spirit that will make life for him/her harder. Attack rolls disadvantage..his items just happen to break. The only way to see them is through a mirror. This could be the message on the wall. "There everywhere" on a different wall "mirror reveal them." Which used a mirror wont show anything till someone fail the plat combo. Keep up the good work
Oh, nice! I really like the curse / mirror ideas. I dig it. Also, I agree. I would rather have the two different solutions lead to separate areas. Thank you for this great response and discussion. I always look forward to your comments on the videos. :)
Thank you for watching and commenting on all of my videos, I really do appreciate it. If I haven't said it yet: Welcome to the channel, its great to have you here! If the PCs try 5-1-5, up to the DM... I'm all for alternate solutions, if they make sense. Also, I love the idea of 3 out of the 4 releasing the mummies. Great idea.
@@WallyDM Thanks I'm enjoying the puzzles. I do tend to play a higher magic / grading in to a Fun House dungeon game so tricks traps and puzzles are always apropos. I got your PDF on traps and I couldn't use all of them and don't like some but it's just a ton of really good ideas. I usually find ones I can't use as is I can modify or they just set me off in a new direction. Thanks
I pause every video and I never get it right! I had the numbers assigned to each symbol, but I thought the code would be 5-1-5 rather than 11, and I figured "There's no 5 here! The lines mustn't matter" and then I started thinking about the tile colours.
That is cool that you pause and think about the video, I always wondered if folks actually do that. Now I know! Also... I feel your pain. Sure, I can create puzzles, but solving them? I'm usually a hard fail. lol. Thank you for watching, my friend. Cheers!
This puzzle is way to niche fur Meow. Meow also think that it would be fur most players and that if they figured it out it would mostly be just by random chance. Sorry that at this moment I can not think of anyway to improve upon it.
No worries, I think this is a pretty solid puzzle as is. A bit niche in presentation with the Tomb, but I think it could be adjusted to fit quite a few different dungeons or scenarios. Cheers to Meow!
@@WallyDM Think it would take alot of reworking and wouldn't be worth all the effort. Would be great to use if one of the players is a computer person or whatever tho.

I like this puzzle and those alternative solutions that would take them to different directions
Alternate solutions are fun. I should design more of these, for sure. Cheers!
Will use this is saturdays session. Love your content! Youve been a real life saver for puzzle ideas in our 5e sessions.
Also, if your looking for a fun game to help you learn hexidecimals, check out the app flipping and attack of the hexadecimals
Ah, thank you Clifford! I appreciate the kind words. :-) Glad you are enjoying the content and the ideas. Cheers!

These videos are a life saver when you run out of ideas! ❤️❤️
Awww yeah! Glad to know that I can help throw out a life preserver to fellow DMs! :-)
Stay tuned. More puzzle goodness coming sooooon!
When you play DnD 5e and the DM says: "This doors are sealed by a 64 level wizard".
Players: -chuckles- "I'm in danger".
Haha! Yes... Fear is now successfully installed. Tread wisely adventurer! lol.
@@WallyDM Considering that wizards only go up to level 20 they should feel more than fear. XD

Now, this one I really like. The secret passage is a nice touch.
Thank you Jon, this was a lot of fun to record. Hope it serves you well. On to the next!

Fantastic! Glad I could help Patty. :) Thank you for subscribing to the channel! :)
Great puzzle Wally! I think my players will get distracted and miss the simple stuff completely!
I guarantee most of my players would devote all their energy and spell slots to tipping over a sarcophagus.
There is a lot going on, so definitely easy to get distracted, lol. Thank you for the comment, my friend. Cheers!
Mwahaha! That seems logical... be sure to have those Mummy stat blocks and some wicked curses ready to go. lol.

Hey there Robbe! I think that is a fantastic way to run the puzzle. Well done on making it your own! Cheers. :)

I dig that idea. I'm always up for making the players look around and explore more of the area. Absolutely!

Very cool puzzle I may have to use this one
Hooray! Glad you enjoyed it!

Why wouldn't the PC's try 5-1-5?
Like the two routes. I'd have all the sarcophagi openable but releasing a mummy except for the secret door one.

Neat puzzle but your camera focus's on your wall not you
lol, it sure is. Thank you Carl. I really struggle with getting that focus where I need it to be.
