Baby Keem is another guy in a good position but idk if his music makes sense for it. Probably someone we haven’t heard yet but that’s no fun to guess.
Keem is definitely in a good position but I think he has to develop a bit more, but to be fair in a few years he could be there

Jk he already peaked a few years ago lol. But I think that ski will EVENTUALLY release the next album. Also the new carti album will be good and hopefully it will make some people release albums.

I think Yatchy and baby keem have a better chance than polo and ski, but Jid Yatchy and Ski is what I’m hoping for
I don’t think Yatchy is consistent enough but Baby Keem is an interesting idea, would depend on how he develops as an artist.

Redviel, Aaron May and JPEGMAFIA are going to have a big run soon I think then JID, Denzel Curry and Kenny Mason are going to be major artists soon. I think we are going to see an emergence of that alternative hiphop sound considering it’s one of the few original sounding rap left in the genre.
I am really familiar with Aaron May and think he is on the comeup but top 3 would surprise me, but do like what he is doing for sure. I think JPEG is probably a bit too experimental but that’s could be exactly what makes him surpass everyone so who knows.
Kenny Mason is an interesting choice, I could really see him make a push into the mainstream but feel like he has to develop a bit. Denzel is fantastic and might make more sense than Ski, I’m just curious as to what Ski is doing with this next album.
@@MattMiranda yeah I meant more so that Denzel, JID and Kenny going to be the next group but idk if they will dominate for a long time like Cole Kendrick and Drake or like Nas JayZ and Andre. I think their run will last for like 2-5 years then Redviel and Aaron will take the role. Peggy is a sleeper pick but he could definitely get in there. Icecoldbishop is really good too but he has a lot of development left considering how heavy he leans on the untitled unmastered era of Kendrick

I think a sleeper pick might be Keem tbh. His greatest skill (which all my favorite rappers have over other rappers) is that he can produce like a mf. He only has 1 album out, but the stats for it are impressive and he even won a grammy with Kendrick for it. Aside from the fact that they are cousins, Keem is actually talented and is visually and great artist as well. His visuals, production, wordplay, and overall personality shows he has potential to become a big 3.
I want to see how his music changes in the future, I could agree but need to see more.
Comparing ski to Kendrick is wild lol. I would say JID is the new Kendrick, Saba is the J Cole, not sure about the new drake. JPEGMAFIA could potentially blow up as a more experimental pick. His 2023 colab album with danny brown sounds like nothing ive ever heard before, yet it still hit billboard somehow. It caters to a more gen z sound with nostalgic samples of things gen z liked growing up. If anything JID, Saba, or any other currently main stream rapper might have less chances than someone like ski, jpeg, or even yeat given that we have been hearing “normal rap” for the last two decades.
JPEG is experimental to a degree that I think hinders him, but who knows maybe that’s what will make it work.

I think that could be true for sure. I think JID is far from his peak and is going to take over for a while, he is the only easy pick in my opinion.
I just wanted to come up with who I personally think is most likely but of course this is going to be very controversial no matter who I put. Figured it would be fun to make for the conversation, disagree or not.

My guess would be Jid, baby keem and little simz in terms og quality little simz washes everyone, she needs to be more recognised though

@@MattMiranda I have not heard Doechii in a while! What ive heard is really great though. I need to check that out now! With little simz i honestly Think she is reaching kendrick level. Her last 3 albums have all been incredible, especially Sometimes i might be introvert, which i Think is a top 10 hiphop album of all time, might even go as far as saying top 5. I know its a controversiel statement right now

Now that you mention it, 21 does have himself in a similar position to JID where drake could pass him the torch. Not sure if 21 has enough versatility though.

I love Ski Mask and PG but I don't think they will be Top 3 its reserved for special artist. Who I think will be top 3 is JID, Tyler the Creator, and Playboi Cart. Everyone seems to forget how big Tyler really is and the man is on his own Island when it comes to production, film, and rap. He has a cult following just like Carti unlike any of the Artist besides JID does, his accolades speak for themselves he may have been in the industry for awhile but he just became mainstream in 2019 so I really do think he is our next Kanye/Pharrell

Easily the hottest take. I just think he is a guy who does huge numbers and vaguely can make songs for everyone in a similar way to drake. At the end of the day the video was just for fun, but you gotta tell me who you would pick.

My prediction is Tyler stays on top by continuing to headline shows. Next I think Kanye will make a comeback with his 3 albums coming (if they come out). Then I think we’ll have somebody under ground / non mainstream come up (like jpeg, Ken Carson or earl)

To be honest i dont agree with polo g, i do agree with ski and jid , im not sayong polo g isnt great i just think there could be other rappers that would lead the game of rap in my opinion i would rather put denzel curry on this list than polo g imo denzel could become one of the biggest rappers of all time , i mean denzel has multiple diffrent parts to him that make a rapper great he can make great lyrics and lyrical songs
he can make great hype songs , he can make great sounding melodoc songs i think he overall has a great sound and cadence to him .

@MattMiranda I don't really see nobody placing Kendrick, Cole, or Drake as far as the "longevity" of being a relevant rap superstar, most of the new rappers that are being hype up as the next "big 3" by the media have either have a promising debut carrer and a year two later there next record doesn't live up to the previous release and later they fall off and never come back (ex: DaBaby, Lil Baby, Polo G, Lil Tjay, etc) or they blow up all the sudden thanks to tik tok and a year later they fall off. With social media platforms still existing and affecting the music industry by supporting mediocracy (such as tik tok) it's almost impossible for a new or non-mainstream artist to have a long term carrer (I'm talking 10-15 years at minimum). Times have changed, and mainstream hip hop right now is dogshit. It's not the same anymore, unfortunately. Right now, I don't see anybody having the potential to replace the big 3 besides maybe JID, but he's been in the game for 6-7 years, so he's not really new so🤷(I still fw with JID music though)

I’m personally not a huge polo g guy but he makes music for multiple demographics, has done insane numbers, and is talented. Ski I think could go either way, we’ve seen a very raw version of him but now it’s been 5 years and I think he will either stick or disappear. Could be a bad take no doubt, who would you have picked?

@@MattMiranda buddy yeat and carti are already bigger than all 3 of them combined. ski mask fell off 4 yrs ago. we are in the era of the decline of lyrical rap. lyrical rap will always be a thing but not what a random person will think of when they think of rap. polo g also fell off 3 yrs ago after the release of hall of fame.
@@MattMiranda also the whole underground rap scene is influenced by yeat and carti. the underground rappers will be mainstream in the next couple years. nobody is getting influenced by polo g, jid, or ski mask.
