@@KaratekaLi they actually do in the Let’s get dangerous episode! While it isn’t darkwing singing, goeslyn is humming it in a scene with darkwing (it’s really cute).
This is so sweet. As ego centric, self centered Darkwing can be a lot of the times, atleast his heart is always in the right place, especialy when it comes to Gosalin.
It was not the spectacular animation that won me over-- that's something to expect from Toon Disney, naturally!-- not even the wonderfully choreographed action scenes, which always had me rooting for Darkwing Duck! But the the thing that caught me off-guard above this show-- the moment that I realised this was a cartoon that would exceed all expectations-- was the fact *this show had a genuine, sincere heart!*
You can feel the creator's (Ted Baker's) fatherly love for his daughter shining through in these moments. And the child wasn't just an archetype for a child, Gosalyn *WAS* a full-fledged child, with her own wishes, and hopes and dreams-- something modern cartoons forget to flesh out!
I liked Bonkers because it was the only cartoon that created new rules on Toon Physics, rather than regurgitating them (eyeing on Tiny Toons), but its lack of discipline (like how the humans can suffer as much slapstick as the funny animals, even if they're supposed to be 'real'), and scatterbrained hit-or-miss comedy proved it only to be a stepping stone on what to expect for what is the modern 'cartoony' cartoon. And of course Ren & Stimpy has a special mention too for being *the* cartoon that popularized cartoony cartoons again, with a totally wicked, subversive Gen X twist. (Late 80's Mighty Mouse is also mentionable, but has the choppy, wonky animation that John K wanted to fix on R&S.) I personally don't like the gross out comedy though, and the show just got unbearable to watch after John K was kicked out of the studio.

I completely forgot that Darkwing Duck sang to gosalyn. I kind of wish someone would create more lyrics to the song. the melody is so soothing and sweet.
Darkwing brought Gosalyn's smile and hope back when she believed there was nothing good in the world and who needed someone special and spirited to care for her And Gosalyn gave Darkwing his porpouse to be a hero and showed him he was much more than just a vigilante, he was caring and thoughtful father who needed someone spirited in his life to care for They both saved each other and to me, Drake and Gosalyn are the best example of how a father and daughter relationship should be
Yes. Before they meet each other, Gosalyn is lonely and feels misunderstood. Darkwing proves to be the friend Gosalyn needed and gives her a place to belong. Gosalyn, meanwhile, gives DW a greater sense of purpose in his life other than chasing after glory, though he still dreams of achieving fame. She brings out the true hero in DW because she inspires him to put his ego aside and show true selflessness, not to win society’s admiration, but because he loves her with all his heart. While Darkwing is usually very egotistic and vain, he becomes the complete opposite when it comes to Gosalyn and her well-being (“Toys Czar Us” has a good example of this; just think of how he behaves during the conference with the school principal). Ironically, it is when Darkwing puts aside his ambitions of being a hero in the public eye to simply be a father to Gosalyn that he becomes the most heroic. Being a good parent to a child who needs it is perhaps one of the most heroic deeds of all that a person could do. To an extent, Gosalyn is transformed too. She’s usually very tomboyish and hates mushy stuff, yet she isn’t afraid to hug her father or shower him with affectionate kisses when he’s just escaped danger, she cares about him just that much. It’s almost a bit like a redemption story, with the character Drake Mallard dreaming of heroism purely out of vanity but only truly achieving it after he lets another person into his life and learns to put that someone else before himself. Darkwing’s relationship with Gosalyn reminds me a bit of the dynamic between Charlie and Anne-Marie in All Dogs go to Heaven; both are stories of how a self-serving person learns to love a little girl under his care, and in the process, becomes a better person for it. You are completely right when you say Gosalyn and Darkwing saved each other, as they each filled a hole in the other one’s heart that nothing else could satisfy. It’s made clear throughout the series just how much these two misfits need each other in their lives and how devasted either would be if they lost the other. It’s almost as though they were fated to be together. One could say the over-arcing story of the Darkwing Duck series is that of two people who find love and belonging through each other and how it changes them for the better. I don’t know what it is, but there is something so very raw and genuine about the love between this feathered father and his adoptive daughter that could make even the most cynical heart melt. Just ask me.

I wish Disney could go back to this instead of the crap they show nowadays.
Cannot wait for Season 3 DuckTales!
Was so beautiful that it made me smile and cry. The way he sang to her was like as though Gosalyn was his actual daughter. Love it.
I haven’t made it this far in the series yet but I am CRYING this is the sweetest thing
*tears flowing out and sniffling like crazy
...I'm not crying! You are!!
this was the moment i fell in love with darkwing duck ❤
Oh no...,here come the waterworks....😢😢😢
Edit: This is absolutely sweet and beautiful and I love it!
Oh my god this song broke my heart in to a million pieces this so beautiful seeing how Drake cares for his daughter is just great to see I cried how amazing it is and I love it and love Darkwing duck forever until I die
Right in the feels.
I'm not crying, I just got some of Bushroot's pollen in my eyes 😭😭
Awww that's so cute!
it's extremely sad because the voice actor for Gosalyn, Christine Cavanaugh husband has to go away. She will live on in our hearts Good night Gosalyn. rest in peace Christine. 😭
In the new ducktales episode Gosalyn hums the first line when she and Darkwing lay down.
Somebody call an ambulance... I'm having a heart attack!
This show may be targeted at kids, it may be a parody of superheroes, especially dark superheroes, it may not be philosophically deep...but it was full of heart and this scene is solid proof. Don't let anyone tell you that this show can't be appreciated by adults.
As a kid I enjoyed darkwing duck for the comedy and action. As an adult I enjoy the love Drake has for Gosalyn and how he steps up as a father.
My heart! It's too full!😢
this is so beautiful
I love it
Not many people know or remember this episode. Technically Gosalyns grandfather passed away ( or killed by Taurus ) and hid the color passcode ( for the weapon ) in the lullaby. Then darkwing had to punch the code in to save gosalyn from Taurus. One of the most epic episodes of DWD
BTW, this was in the Duck Tales episode about Darkwing Duck just released on Disney XD's youtube channel. A full episode for free.
This made me smile.
Della Duck brought me here
@Max x Roxanne 4ever you think
@Max x Roxanne 4ever fanfiction
With Gosalyn gone . . . Im nothing ;_;
I remembered the beautiful times since I first heard this beautiful lullaby in the old Polish language version from 1994. I love this lullaby, it is really beautiful, I know the words to this lullaby in the Polish version.
This is the show that was banned in Sweden for being "too violent"... -_-
this is still so wonderfull never have forgoten it
Whenever I hear this song I makes me think of when I was little, and all the things me and my dad did then! I miss those days...❤😔
His relationship with Gosalyn was what made the show special
Also the code to his computer??
I love this so much
R.I.P. Christine Cavanaugh❤️🥺😢😭
