  • This little overview looks at the ARKit Reality Composer by apple running on iPad Pro (2020) to look at how depth sensing makes a difference in AR creation and rapid prototyping. The finished project can be integrated into Xcode project on Mac and then submitted for iOS via App Store.

      ARKit, ARCore, Vuforia and numerous other programs tbh have better tracking than Spark. Only advantage spark has is its connected to social media apps without having to create or download customs apps

    Do you need thew depth sensor? I have an ipad mini 1 and 4 but I don't think they have the sensor.

      You dont NEED a depth sensor, depth sensors in SOME AR apps help slightly with accuracy when enabled but not needed

    I'm trying to add a force to a cube so it can fall off a shelf. But when I press play the cube falls down. Physics are turned on, when I turn that off it doesn't fall down anymore but it also doesn't react to tapping. Can you help?

      It would appear that the action of tapping on the cube essentially makes the object an instance i.e. collosions or force may be ignored. I will dig into this over the weekend

      Its largely for ARKit prototyping so weblinks / external links are not possible with this I am afraid

    Is there a similar tool using ARcore so I can use it for android ?

      Nothing quite as simple sadly ARCore is a bit more involved but if using game engines such as Unity as middle step can be easier otherwise explore WebAR which is the way AR is going

      The two software packages dont communicate, Reality composer is more aimed at AR visualisation and making bespoke apps via Apple XCode apis.

    • @CatalystChannel
      @CatalystChannel  4 роки тому

      ARKit (iOS), ARCore (Android), Vuforia + Unity (Both but has cost), 8th wall (not used)
