    For 22k or 23k the very small percentage which is not gold, if they use silver alloy, the piece will be more yellow.
    If they use copper alloy, it will either take on a little pink tone or at the very least, look less yellow! If it is 18K, when more
    copper alloy is used, that's how you get pink gold. It's all good gold and just a matter of preference for the tone. Great video! I hope this helps!

    The Thai gold at 96.5% (23 karat) purity has a higher copper content which gives it more of the yellow color.

    • @opensesame12
      @opensesame12  Рік тому +4

      Yes, you are absolutely right, the high purity of gold implies the color to be more yellow. However, at the end of the video I am comparing the 24 karat gold and still the Thai jewelry has unusual yellow color. Even if there is more copper, the pieces should go more to rose gold shade than intense yellow. May be we will find the answer later)
      Thank you for reply!

    Interesting, very beautiful pieces
    I keep trying to tell other fellow Americans that its normal for people in Asia and other foreign lands. To have very high purity of precious metals in their jewelry .
    But it seems to fall flat, because our jewelers keep telling them
    "Its impossible, the metal is too soft, and will instantly break apart. "
    I told them i have 99.9% silver ring i eat and sleep with. And it has ZERO dents or dings in.
    Meanwhile 23k gold jewelry is the norm for you guys. .. 😆
    Come save us, were stuck with a measly
    10 k- 14k gold..

      Ohhh, i understand you) I am not from Thailand actually and in my place the most common is also 14 k or 585) however, while visiting the jewelry locations and shop in different countries it becomes very clear that is it partly cultural thing, on the other side regulatory area as well. Let us say in the Middle East and India gold below 18 k is illegal and not even considered as gold

Regarding the engagement rings - it is such a big topic - you can go with so many different options: branded (Tiffany/Cartier/etc) to non-branded local jewelers, you can opt make it your own design order or choose classic option. Real diamonds or lab grown, or may be even go for colored gemstones (ruby, sapphire, spinel). You could also find stunning piece at vintage market with a hint of history and specific tradition. I guess gold band will start with 400$ and then goes to infinity...depends what you are looking for) Thank you so much for support!

      Prices vary, and depend on the daily market price on gold as commodity + % added for making jewelry/seller commissions

    don't look at yellow because the k will fade

    • @opensesame12
      @opensesame12  Рік тому +1

      I don’t really know if it will fade. I can see clear difference between the pure 24 k bar and Thai jewelry. And the color is way too yellow on jewelry, however, I assume there is something added on the surface that makes this yellowish color. However, I don’t have any doubts that pure gold will not fade😊

      Depends on what you want.You have no idea how beatiful it is with for example a pink ruby.I am just making a ring and was a long time not shure if i make the ring from 22 karat or 23 karat.I decided me for 23 karat and thaught when the yellow is to strong and would overwelm the ruby i bring it down to 22 karat.But after i melted the gold with 3,5% silver and saw the colour,it perfectly matched with the pink ruby and i am very happy that i decided for 23 and not 22 karat,because there is allright a very big difference.

    it's Yello the more longer wear n wash Yello become lite yellow become 18k

    • @opensesame12
      @opensesame12  Рік тому +1

      Well, I have doubts about it, because 22-23 karat gold physically can’t fade to the 18k gold due to the fact that the metal content is different (18k has more alloys)
