Mr. Prziborowski - thank you for this. You remind me so much of one of our beloved retired BCs here in our volunteer department, also just south of Sacramento in Wilton. He was also very giving with his knowledge and spoke with the same level of articulation as you. Major compliments.
Tomorrow morning I have my Chiefs interview with Sacramento City Fire and this video has helped prepare me for it. Your channel been one of the best online resources I've yet to find and it's a bonus you're also local. Keep doing what you're doing. Thanks a million again.

Alan, you’re welcome! Thank you very much for your kind words & feedback, I sincerely appreciate it! Glad to hear they have been helpful & inspiring.
Which retired BC if you don’t mind me asking, especially since I used to work at Elk Grove back from 1993-1995.
Hope your Chief’s interview went well, let me know how it goes & please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of further assistance!

@@steve.prziborowski I think it was the best interview I've ever had. The timing of which couldn't have been any better. And the Chiefs made it fun, which was completely unexpected. The BC I'm referring to is Brett Shurr. He did over 20 years with Elk Grove Fire (now known as CSD Fire) and a number of years simultaneously with our department in Wilton, CA.

Good to hear that, thanks for the update! Good luck and hope it works out! Small world as I used to work at Elk Grove from 1993-1995 and I remember him from my days there.

how did your interview go? I have a chiefs interview tomorrow with a department in the bay. Any tips or pointers from what you went through in your interview?

It went extremely well. So much so that I had that gut feeling that I got it and I didn't. I'll bounce back though. Tips for you: Stay confident, remember that this is more give and take than the orals, smile, they don't know your story so it's your job to concisely tell about (get to the meat and potatoes), don't give a bland canned answer for why you want to work for that department because they'll see right through it and mentally put on toward the bottom of the stack, really give a good reason for what you could bring to the community through the fd. And because you commented I can assume you watched this awesome video, so watch it again, and execute your story tomorrow. Good luck.

Any tips on whether you recommend sending a followup email after a chief interview. And any tips on how to pass a polygraph or psych evaluation?
