Your commentary around 23:00 about playing to win vs playing to not lose is basically "Who's the beatdown" - in this matchup the Blackwing player has the control so Pizza needs to take the risk of being more aggressive because it's a higher chance of winning
Definitely not saying Pizza played bad because he did awesome and made very good read this game to put other player in tough spots and really every game that I saw was like that. But this dude was also drawing like Atem the entire tournament. I think game one here shows that with cold wave into heavy. Don’t know how many times I saw him with some combo of future fusion, grepher, phantom, and gold sarcs in hand! I also remember that deck actually being called hopeless dragon many years ago. Wasn’t very popular but definitely saw some play.
His deck is literally those cards you listed and draw cards to find those cards, so it is expected that he should be drawing them. He consistently outplayed his opponents, and built a good deck with a sound strategy. His draws definitely didn't carry him as you can see quite clearly here, especially in the first game. Anything less than perfect play would've lost him this match even with what you consider to be pharaoh level luck.
@@calebwilliams6923 well I clearly said he played well and even with turbo, his hands all tournament could have been very similar to second game where he draws every high level monster or useless spell traps at the time vs what he did draw. Regardless, to go all The way like he did in some 12 rounds played implies that he is an extremely skilled player. There’s no doubt about that. That’s not to say he didn’t have great draws on top of it.
This deck is such a pile, I love it. Unfortunately the technical play in this tournament has been kind of all over the place, but it's still nice to see decks that are more out there, even if their competitiveness may be debatable.
Gotta remind you it's much easier to say the 'technical play has been all over the place' when under a microscope. I'm fairly certain if you entered, by hour 10 (which is when top 32 was taking place) your play would be less than perfect too. All things considered, I think the players who did top 8 played exceptionally well for the entire duration of the tournament.
I’m confused why everyone is acting like this is some wild homebrew. This is Hopeless dragons and it’s been around for like 12 years it just wasn’t very represented at the actual SJC Edison event
I mean it's not the innovation of the century, and I have even played a Dark Creator Dragon version myself in the past, but it's definitely not a standard deck. When an unconventional or uncommon deck does well, that's worth pointing out and discussing.
So I LOVE the dark dragons deck. I’ve been thinking about it a bit recently and was wondering if there was a way to add more draw cards. But d-draw is at one and adding plasma is meh, even though it’s also trade in fodder. Solar recharge is cool but idk playing Gragonith does not seem great and taking out Dark Horus means your grapher are far less consistent…
Hey! Been thinking about it some more - especially after I saw your glad video against turbo dragons (with cards of consonance and white stone). That would add too many bricks to justify though.
As a side note, I built it IRL and was not a huge fan of cold wave: it conflicts with the draw engine and playing future fusion. But then I saw another video of yours where you explained that cold wave buys you a turn - perhaps you can use it with a less explosive hand, say to have Wyvern as beat stick
Yes, i was not awere and honestly you are watching my 1st game ever to play against this, like i knew norleas is coming when i’ve seen the other stuff but then it was to late to correct that MC play since there was no reason to fear gorz when i had shuras into vayu and gale…but yea it was 1 am for me ( been woke from 7am that day) but thats no excuse, so do try to learn from this as i did
norleras is based
Truly.

His deck is literally built to turbo draw… he’s gonna find his power cards eventually 🤣

Of course. I can relate, I've made my fair share of terrible decisions at like midnight when a tournament ran late lol.

@@Apocralyph yeah I think a lot of people forgot about the deck/didn’t play at the time it existed or something
I like Dragons

@@E3YuGiOh we will be there!!!!
I have a question for you E3 Yugioh.
If you could change the Edison banlist, what would you change and why?
I wouldn't change it. The format is fun as it is

if you ever figure anything out, let me know! it seems to have quite a few draw cards as it is

Oh yeah I definitely didn't know I could special a wyvern with a wyvern or I wouldn't have set that phantom of chaos.
now you know 😎
Keegan u are based af btw
blackwing player may not have known what it was playing against. hence some of g1 decisions.
Some of the game 1 decisions (particularly the mind control one) is a strictly worse play regardless of what you're playing against.

@@Mr.Sultai Yeah. Def a strength of a deck is either you don't know whats coming or you are unprepared and don't know optimal plays.
