- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his country will 'never forgive' those responsible for the horrors inflicted on Bucha. That Ukrainian town is marking a year now since its liberation, after five weeks under Russian control.
What Ukrainian forces found, about 30 kilometers from central Kyiv, was a trail of devastation and evidence of possible war crimes. The images of civilian bodies strewn across the infamous Yablunska Street, in particular, reverberated around the world. But 12 months later, the move to hold those responsible to account is far from finished.
A warning that this next report contains graphic images some viewers might find disturbing.

Bucha is a place where the middle class lives, and the Russian army is recruited from poor regions, so envy and hatred arose among the Russians who came. The sheer amount of approving and cheering comments by ordinary Russians under videos about the atrocities committed against civilians in Ukraine were no less shocking to Ukrainians than the war itself.

After occupying Bucha for several weeks Russians left not being attacked, but in ordinary fashion.
Would they commit atrocities during occupation one would expect that they will attempt to hide any evidence of crimes, not leaving bodes of shot civilians on streets.
I heard (Korwin Mikke) that these were people who collaborated with occupiers and the Ukrainians after returning to Bucha after Russians withdrew shot them.
There are couple things not making much sens like why one will tie hands of the victim shot him dead and leave the body on a street.

For what I remember Russians themselves were trying to get international investigation of these crimes going right after they were uncovered and Ukrainian side was not interested.
In my post i posted a question "Why Ukrainians did not ask international investigators right after the event?" emphasizing RIGHT AFTER THE EVENT.
Normally I would not respond to someone who starts discussion accusing me of lying, but it is an interesting event and I hope to get more information from whatever the source there is.
@@blski Ukrainian forces liberated Bucha on 1 April. The official statement about the request to the International Criminal Court was made on 3 April. As for me, this fits well into the definition of "right after" given that it takes at least some time to determine the scale of what happened and make all the relevant decisions by various authorities from the chief prosecutor's office to the formulation of a request by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

There were two videos made in Bucha by two seperate Ukrainian officials, they both said Bucha was under their control. It took 2 days before a torrent of journalists and politicians descended on Bucha like it was Graceland.
A ten minute video was posted live by a Ukraine platoon touring the small town at the time of the official statements, also no mention of atrocities.
Ukraine were bragging about 'winning' the town back, plenty of twitter etc vids of this.
Is it so difficult for you to open a map and see where Yablonska Street is located? Bodies lay in the city for weeks before Ukraine brought it back under its control.
