      It's horrible starting a job at a new restaurant. I tried arranging the curtery on the tray and the servers were like we don't do that 😭😭😭😭

    • @TheWaitersAcademy
      @TheWaitersAcademy  6 років тому

      You are very welcome Ainura! You can learn the food menu the best with the help of a chef from the kitchen! We just changed our menu at the restaurant and I called the chef himself to come and explain the items one by one for the waiters! You write down everything he says and then read it couple of time to memorize it! Once the food starts coming out of the kitchen you can try naming every item in the plate while you are carrying it to the guests! in three days you will know everything about the food on the menu! If you are scared to ask the chef to explain the ingredients to you, ask some of the cooks or some of the experienced waiters! Good luck!

      You always have a side station or a table available to put the trays on it.

    In my restaurant, we dont use the gloves, totally by tray, put all stuffs on then do setting up one by one, still waste little bit time

    instead of carrying cutlery like this we can carry all in one platter

    • @TheWaitersAcademy
      @TheWaitersAcademy  6 років тому +2

      I agree and i am still doing it, especially when I am not in a hurry and there are guests in the restaurant! Still, it slower! You are using just one hand to arrange the silverware and try holding a platter full with knives, forks, spoons and etc. for 5 min. in your left hand....it wares you down!
