    Best ever show! Very few in the established churches know or believe anything about these truths. They don't touch this subject. When will The lord allow the church, the body of Christ, be exposed to and taught this? Well then, it's up to each of us to lovingly present these truths to whomever we can. Ask The Lord to show you how to best reach the most amount of people, using your most precious gifts....

      @@offTheLeftEye Thanks. But to this day i still have my doubts too,i guess they're part of us all!
      One of the other things i've been dealing with is my Christian faith,anf swedenborgs theology. The way Christians describe god confuses me,since they describe him as loving and a father figure,at the same time they say he's jealous. I personally don't care what people say about Swedenborg, or whatever he was mentally ill or not. I personally believe him,cause as some philosophers,and people who worked with mysthical things always said ,when you've spiritual experiences keep them to yourself,because you will be classified mentally ill. I think the schools should teach about Swedenborg,instead of teaching Nietzche or Campus,they really just deceive the youth to thing there doesn't exist anything outside of this spiritual world!

    Like always, Great Job! Curtis! You do a wonderful service to the World. Thank you. Eternal gratitude.
    Now, everyone: if you read or slightly familiar with the Bible, you will see that the human body is merely a ceramic or clay doll, which came alive by God breathing Himself in us. We are *only* a living being because the Creator (God, Yahweh, The Father) breathe life into us. *Gen 2:7*
    The physical, human body, that we look at in the mirror, that we feed, bath, cloth, put to bed at night, is for all intentions and purposes, a garment which holds God,(the Spirit). We are the garment, the Temple, the Tent, which houses God.
    We are - a lump of clay, formed from the earth by the Creator, similarly to a potter creating a ceramic pot to hold his water or food.
    We are a living being, walking, talking, eating, only because God's breathe is in us.
    Think of it this way: a child has an automated doll, which can walk, open it's mouth, move its eyes, and talk...but only if there's a battery in that doll. That battery is God in us. Remove the battery and the doll is motionless. When God's Spirit leaves our body we are lifeless - back to the dust we go.
    Essentially, we are God....in the form of Man, all of us. *Psalm 82:6-8* ; *John 10:34-36* .
    You are God. We are God. God is in us, and we are in Him. God created man (Adam) as a garment to hold God. Why? Because God is invisible. Because God wanted to Expand, and because God wanted to Experience. *God is the 2nd Man* in us.
    *1 Cor 15:45-46* - God is the 2nd Adam. The 1st Adam is the natural, physical, human body, that we see, touch, feed, clean & carry.
    *Philippians 2:7-8* - God emptied himself, and took the form of man (as a servant).
    *John 1:1-14* - God (the Word) became flesh and dwell *in* us.
    *Isaiah 42:1* I have put my Spirit *in* Him.
    God and His Spirit is One. And God is also The Word. God is Man, and Man is God. God lives in the form of man (as us). We are God but we don't know it.
    The story is all in Scriptures, hidding in plain sight.
    The question then is, how is God in me and I don't know it? Because He, God, is sound asleep in us. It is called the sleep of death.
    *Psalm 44:22-24* David is crying out: Wake up oh Father! Why are you sleeping? Arise! Do not sleep forever!
    All through the Psalms, David is crying to The Father to awake, Arise from sleep!: *Psalm 7:6* ; Psalm 35:23; Psalm 74:1; Psalm 77:7; Psalm 78:65; Psalm 88:14;
    God is 'dead' or 'died' in man, but not really. He is sound asleep, like death, but will rise again. That's the Resurrection spoken of in Scriptures.
    *John 3* - call 'born anew', or born again. The Spiritual birth.
    *Luke 23:33* God is buried in the Skull of man. Also in Matt, Mark, & *Gen **15:12* - when God feel asleep in man, which is the horror of great darkness; the darkest hour - signifies when God fell asleep in us. The great, deep, sleep of death.
    Read it in the gospel of John, Hebrews, Romans, & Corinthians & Isaiah..

      This idea of God being born anew in each of us - a personal, constant resurrection - really resonates with me! Then years later..I thought about it again..and it came to me that, as long as you feel that emotion..even for inanimate objects that can't feel nor respond to that love..it shows you have love within you..and surely it's that which is important..not the what...?

    • @offTheLeftEye
      @offTheLeftEye  3 роки тому +3

      Well said, Jack! I think it's okay to enjoy and appreciate material things, so long as we don't "worship" them and prioritize material things over spiritual ones. But we can love something for the joy it brings us or others, for its use (a car is pretty useful in our modern world!), etc. So long as those loves don't distract from what really matters - loving each other and doing good! What do you think?

    • @jackcumming3663

      @@offTheLeftEye I think the word love is overused and is used too explain many other pleasant emotions. Its seems too be one emotion fits all..just as we use the word hate..one word fits all..when other emotions would do to explain how you feel. I don't like this food..I hate it..or I hate it when that happens etc ? The word becomes meaningless. Same when talking or understanding love..I love what you did..I love the taste of that food..the word becomes meaningless. You can enjoy the feelings you have for an object, the pleasure it gives, but love...??? The two opposites I use sparingly..hate, not at all. Hatred, unlike love...hurts the one who hates..and not the hated. Love is like a warm breeze..it makes everyone it touches feel good. In short..love creates..hate destroys. Don't get me wrong, I have met people I have disliked..but never hated..even those who have betrayed me..I forgive them..but they have lost my trust and friendship..and yet, I don't turn my back on them if they need help. I realised long ago that people who betray a friend..have the problem..not the one betrayed. Last..I 'love' nature..God's creation..I am a vegetarian and will not eat anything that once had a heart beat and a spirit.

    One thing that has drawn me to Swedenborg is how what he says is so convergent with, not only so many other religions, but of the many analyses of NDE accounts over the many decades they've been analyzed. You asked us to comment on how we react to what the scholar angel says...well, it sounds like he may be saying that our souls, collectively, make up the consciousness of God, or rather parts of the consciousness of God. Is that right, or am I way off? ("...and therefore a dwelling place for God"). What's interesting about that sentiment is that it sounds very buddhist of all things, that there is only one consciousness and that the differences in us are simply the material differences between us leading us to do different things, but our consciousness is just the awareness and witnessing of all that. It's not quite the same, but it sort of feels like maybe it feeds into that a little.

    • @offTheLeftEye
      @offTheLeftEye  3 роки тому +1

      I love your thoughtfulness, Phil. Thank you for sharing your thinking with us! That phrase, a "dwelling place for God" stands out to me. In Swedenborg's book, Divine Love and Wisdom, he writes that we human beings are not God but that God created us to be recipients of divine love. Vessels. Our acceptance of God's love and our willingness to use his divine wisdom to bring alive love -- through useful activity -- is the purpose of our creation. When we cooperate with God by taking actions that stem from love and wisdom, we are making use of the will and understanding he gifted us. With regard to a shared consciousness, I think it's true that our minds are unified in purpose when each of us does our part. Like the many organs of a human body working together to move it from one place to another.

      @@ppartin It is indeed an interesting comparison! And actually, there was a Zen master named D.T. Suzuki who called Swedenborg the "Buddha of the North," and wrote a whole book about the parallels between Swedenborg's concepts and Mahayana Buddhism. And I'll add that Swedenborg does say that the deepest spark of life in our souls, our innermost selves, IS the presence of God (or else we couldn't even exist) so in that sense, the parallel in the topic you brought up is even stronger.

    I came to this video because we’re interested in how alters, being dissociated consciousness’s capable of operating separately and independently simultaneously as the rest, is viewed in terms of soul. This sort of solidifies out view that our soul is actually similar to a spiritual community, the parts have been able to differentiate into one collective but individual consciousness’s with differing personalities, so I assume we’ll manifest as akin to a community or city in heaven. We have forms, like we see ourselves as we are in our innerworld, we have relationships ect. I think we are similar in soul to how heaven is described as being in the form of a body with different Angel communities representing different body parts, only for us our soul body also has its own sub communities with different forms inside it.

      @offTheLeftEye  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for spelling out how you understand it, PhylosophyHour. The "parts" theory makes so much sense to me, and Swedenborg does say that the human body is kind of a microcosm of heaven. May all parts in us find peace and belonging, as all inhabitants of heaven will!

      @@offTheLeftEye I’m sure we will. Integration is important, as is working as a team for the benefit of all, as we’ve learned as a system that the entire group suffers if even one alter suffers, so we have to make sure everyone is taken care of. It sounds as though heaven and earth work the same way, especially when you get into the spiritual aspect of telepathic bleeding over and sharing of emotions and thoughts. Our innerworld has its own separated levels where the more traumatized alters reside, to protect the more pure ones from trauma bleed over, but even our persecutor alters need love and healing. I like Swedenborgs view that the hells are self chosen rather than punishment, because the whole truth of plurality in any sense that we’ve learned from experience necessitates healing and acceptance of even our less than godly members. Shoving them in the back only traps the negativity in the system. Lol I’m sort of on a thought train lately wondering if Swedenborg/angels spiritualize psychology, or if we’ve still got a psychology ‘world’ filter over our perception of our own system. I’m sort of thinking the latter, or that the two are one in the same spoken in different languages.

The physical world is a stepping stone to larger things, and everything here is built with correspondences that have inner, spiritual meanings. Swedenborg, like many NDE survivors, believed that the spiritual world is more real and authentic than this, and that we are more fully ourselves when we get there. Good question, Mindy Tarquini Writer-in-Residence! God knows everything, all the time, always. Which is admittedly very difficult for me personally (Melissa here) to understand! But Curtis explains things better, so you might like this episode, "God Sees the Future As Present" ua-cam.com/video/yjZFKIEYivE/v-deo.html
      Swedenborg learned that time and space don't really exist in heaven, only apparently exist so that we can feel a sense of autonomy and separation from things around us. Here is an episode that gives a summary of that, "Will Life Be Different When You Die?" ua-cam.com/video/u67AUEiaFE0/v-deo.html
      And here are two episodes that go into much more detail about time and space in the afterlife: "How to Live in Eternity Now" ua-cam.com/video/lO-Oj7exXC4/v-deo.html and "How to Travel in the Afterlife" ua-cam.com/video/I8n3anFk7d4/v-deo.html
      Swedenborg also believed that we do constantly interact with heaven and hell and the spiritual world, and are much more immersed in it all than we realize here. Because we are in physical bodies, we only get a sense of the larger picture, I suppose kind of like if we were wearing very narrow glasses and didn't have our full peripheral vision... that's the best way I can imagine it! This short video might be more useful, "What Are Heaven & Hell?" ua-cam.com/video/cCizOSUw6yw/v-deo.html

      @@offTheLeftEye Thank you for your kind reply, Melissa. I'm usually around just not always commenting. I have such a hard time holding onto these concepts. I may be overthinking things. I will look at these videos and let you know. Probably the difficulty holding onto the concepts is the Basement Boys not wanting me to look too hard at any one thing. There's passage in the New Testament someplace about Paul (I think it's Paul) getting annoyed with a spirit that is possessing a slave who is making her owners a ton of money by predicting the future. It says in the passage that the spirit was accurate. I'm pretty sure that's what it says, but Paul finally casts the spirit out. And I wondered about that because God knows everything, past, present, future, all at the same time. But I wondered about spirits. Do they get a glimpse? Seems to me it would be best for them to always direct to God, that any spirit doing otherwise might be suspect. I was thinking Paul cast the spirit out because no spirit has any business overtaking somebody's will, like maybe it was a metaphor of the times, that owning others was also not all right. Sorry, a lot in that response, I know. Hope you are well, also.

    This reminds me of Hinduism the religion of "330 million gods and goddesses". Hindus all say that these gods and goddesses, as well as humans, are all aspects of the One God. The reason I love Swedenborg is he specified more the qualities, love and wisdom, of God and why the Lord created the universe, usefulness, as we humans are to be also. Good question and IMO I think it's because our spirit is both vessel and life combined into what we know as spirit. The life in us is from God which is infinite but our vessel that gives form is finite. So our finite vessels can only access our infinite life source "piece" by "piece". Kind of like imagine a endless movie is our life but to know that life we need to see it frame by frame. This means we can't access the movie all at once it has to be frame by frame this is why we don't fully understand our own souls. We can only experience and grow and learn because that is finite trying to understand the infinite piece by piece, instance by instance. I'm not going to pretend I understand it all, lol but this is the best I can do with what I have.

      @@randydiluzio8269 I think ultimately we can never know ourselves completely like how God does. It's the way it has to be that's the relationship between finite and infinite.
      Balance is always the goal without it peace is impossible. So in our finite ways of learning we tend to feast and famine. Like one spirit wants to know more about justice which is his feast but is lacking in understanding of mercy and that is his famine, there isn't balance there. God is perfect and complete and that is a reason for us to make sure God is our teacher. God knows exactly what we need, when we need it and how much of it, he brings us perfect balance. We should listen to his voice and the stranger's voice we don't listen to.

      I love this discussion! It is such a complex topic! Here's some things that spring to mind for me. Swedenborg wrote that animals are born fully themselves - their potential is already fully realized, because they are designed for physical life, and not spiritual life. They do have spirits or souls in them, and are divinely animated like we are, but they do not go on the spiritual journey humans do. They are made to live their best life right here on earth, and so are less complex. See our episode, "The Spiritual Difference Between Animals and Humans," ua-cam.com/video/rM-htkB2y8M/v-deo.html which is a passage about this.
      We are made for bigger things (spiritually speaking), and have more potential. It's always been interesting to me, as a dog owner and a parent, how my puppies could walk almost immediately, find food almost immediately, and were so built to survive, whereas my babies couldn't walk for close to a year, or more, and needed help with everything! I suppose some people think this is because our brains need more time to develop, but I wonder if this is also a correspondence! Like our newborn selves, our spirit is needy, and can do nothing on its own - we need nourishment (inflow of divine love and wisdom) from God to grow. And it takes a long time for us to do this.
      Another metaphor I like is that of running a marathon - like Rick says, we can only see a piece of the whole puzzle. And we can only work with where we are right now. We can't run the whole marathon just because we want to. We have to build strength, agility, endurance, flexibility, and this is done slowly and incrementally over a long period of time. Spiritual growth is definitely a marathon, and we are always training and improving, our whole lives! If heaven is the finish line, then we have to work to ready ourselves for that goal. Just like we wouldn't say, I want to be a marathoner and then go run 26.2 miles, we also wouldn't be spiritually ready to enter heaven without our physical lives on earth - the training facility for our spirits!
      So those are some thoughts. I hope that made sense! It's a very deep topic and I can't pretend I fully understand it at all! But I enjoy trying! (=

      You guys are better than most people in the world for taking it upon yourselves to give it your best effort in unpredictable situations like that. So I'm definitely down to dabble in Swedenborg as part of my explorations. This is how church should be.

    Yeah, physics says that empty space is loaded with virtual particles that drift in and out of existence...

      I didn't know that! Isn't that amazing? What a fascinating, complex world, Gricylce! What do you make of it?

      @@offTheLeftEye One interpretation is that empty space is loaded with energy in the form of virtual particles. The idea is that they flash into existence, and then disappear just as quickly so as not to violate the conservation of mass and energy. It’s somewhat hard to imagine. Quantum mechanics seems to be consistent with a consciousness-only model of creation, in line with the revelations of Swedenborg!

      We did four episodes recently on Divine Design - have you seen them? Here's the first (the others are listed in each description under the episode) - "God Used A Specific Design to Create Heaven" ua-cam.com/video/rFBtRDPpeUs/v-deo.html

    Jesus, came back to earth and was talking to a priest..If you are Jesus..show me a miracle...So Jesus got a jug of water and turned it into wine..The priest said..we do that every Sunday..but the other way around. Ok..jesus said..I will feed 5 thousand people from a basket with only a few fish and a few loaves of bread in it. The priest smiled kindly and replied...McDonald's do that every day. (Don't tell me God does not have a sense of humor..after all, he created the human race). 😉😁
