Sakura Cherry Blossom Jam | さくらのジャム

    This is the prettiest jam that you'll ever make, especially because it's filled with flowers! 桜が入った一番きれいなジャムです!
    Making jam always seemed like an intimidating task to me, but it's actually not that difficult at all, and would be a great afternoon activity on the weekend! I had a few hiccups when I was making this and trying to balance the flavours, so here are my tips! (That's also why some ingredients are listed here, but not in the video - the recipe down below is the one you should stick to! ❤)
    When removing the petals from the cherry blossoms, make sure to only remove the petals, and discard any other parts of the flower, like the stem, leaves, stamen, etc. This can cause the jam to taste slightly bitter. I also think that this jam tastes best when paired with other ingredients - like honey! I preferred the flavour when I spread it on toast with a layer of honey, because the honey really complements the delicate cherry blossom flavour, and will balance out any bitterness that might be present from the flowers. It tastes like pink honey toast ❤ You could also place a dollop of this jam on top of a bowl of vanilla yogurt and mix it in to create not only a beautiful looking breakfast, but you'll be left with yogurt that has a sweet, floral taste with a hint of vanilla! It's so delicious when you eat a sakura petal, because you get a very delicate burst of natural sweetness!
    ジャムを作るのはちょっと難しそうでしたが、意外に作りやすいですよ!週末にゆっくり作るのは楽しそうです❤味をバランスをとった時に少し困っていましたので、下にコツ・ポイントを書きました!下のレシピと動画に使った材料が少し異なって、正しい作り方・材料は下にございます!❤
    桜の花びらを外す時に必ず花びらだけを外すようにする。葉っぱ、花梗、おしべなどをジャムに入れると味が苦くなる恐れがあります❤このジャムを蜂蜜など他の材料と混ぜると一番おいしいだと思います!蜂蜜をかけたトーストにさくらのジャムをかけると超おいしくて、ジャムが少し苦い場合、蜂蜜でバランスがとられます。ピンク色のハニートストの味がします!❤またはバニラのヨーグルトにかけるとおいしいです!とてもきれいな朝ごはんになって、さくらの優しい甘さはバニラの味によ~く合います!花びらを食べると自然な甘味があります!

    This Sakura Cherry Blossom was very creative, special, & unique! I enjoyed watching this video. I had no idea that you could buy pickled Sakura Cherry Blossoms from Amazon or online! Wow! I may order them in the future & try this jam recipe. I've never tried anything cherry blossom flavored. I do love cherries and anything cherry flavored though. I would like to try Sakura Cherry Blossoms one of these days. I'm watching all these videos of people drinking Sakura Cherry Blossom flavored drinks, coffees, eating pastries, fries, & sweets with cherry blossom flavoring. I wish there was a place in the U.S near me that served this kind of stuff. I need to research about this. Thanks for sharing your recipe. I like creativity & people trying different things.     Thank you so muuuuch ! I made this jam and it's so yummy~♪ Really, your recipies with sakura flowers are great ! I looked for essence (I never found any) or something like that for a long time, cause I didn't know how to use the flowers. Now I know !

    i love sakura recipes, could you make a sakura pudding/ mousse recipe please I always see pics from japan of this online and don't know where to start to make it.
    Also sakura truffles would be nice but I can imagine how to make that though probably the sakura liquour you made added to the double cream which is added to melted white choc? anyways enough rambling sakura pudding type recipe please

    I was thinking about make this for a gift but I've never tried Sakura anything before. Are cherry blossom flavored food an acquired taste or do you think that most people would enjoy the taste?

      +Rose Singer Sakura is quite a mild flavour! If the colour light pink had a flavour, it would taste like sakura :) Mild and sweet!

    why should I first pickle the petals and only then make the jam? Couldnt I just make the jam directly

      LeprechaunX Hmm, I'm not sure. Agar agar sets much firmer, so I'm not sure that it'll give you the same jam-like consistency.

      +Jessie I think gelatin is necessary for this recipe :( You might be able to substitute agar instead!

      Jessie You can use agar, arrowroot powder, or carrageen (Irish moss) in place of gelatin in recipes. You just need to rejudge amounts sometimes depending on the recipe to ensure the result isn't too firm or too soft. Hope this helps! x

      Elena Beatrice Martinelli Hmmm, I think you could! I just looked up some recipes, and they recommend using fresh rose petals, but I totally think it would be fun to try it out and see what happens! I'm not sure if you need more/less rose petals than the amount of sakura petals I used, but I think it would be delicious!
