During the rule of Reza Shah he insisted that international entities stop using Persia to refer to IRAN! I do own ahmad shah era stamps with ahmad shah picture on them and Persia indicated to identify the country! Of course we all know that all non-Iranian text such as bible have referred to IRAN as Persia since the ancient times!
PERSIA means IRAN literally. Iranians have always referred to their country as IRAN. However, PERSIA has been used internationally to refer to IRAN since the ancient times. All Iranians are Persian by definition. It has nothing to do with ethnicity.

Persia was used as a term to represent land of the Pars people by the greeks. when the Sassanid king gained power in Iran, they literally called it Iran-shahr (Iran-city) and simply Iran. Iran means means: land of Aryans. All Iranians are not Persian and all Iranians are not Aryans. the non-aryans have migrated to Iran. Iran is the most correct word to describe the country. "Persia is a misunderstood word"....
