Morning Bruce, it's good for peace of mind knowing there's fresh oil in there, my brothers just bought a second hand gearbox for reconditioning for his Rover V8 engined Ford Popular, he removed the magnetic drain plug and it looked like metallic hedgehog 😅😅, there's obviously been issues in its past! Those metallic plugs are worth there wait in gold Mel for what they stop going around causing wear, sounds like some porridge stirring was going on with that box! 😜
