The hard part is finding good chicken ramen broth - so few places make their broth from scratch, and that ruins the entire experience. If it comes premade from a bag, it doesnt belong in a good ramen joint.
@@Your-Least-Favorite-Stranger The issue is that most chickens are 6 weeks old and it really doesn't matter how much you boil them they're not going to produce a stock that you're going to think much of. You'd need a reliable source of stewing hens, chickens that have spent a couple of years laying eggs and are now "retired," and that is actually hard to come by despite the astounding quantity of them in the US.
I went to a ramen shop in Chicago's Chinatown with my mom a few days ago for my birthday. I'd never been there before, but they were playing Nujabes the whole time and the first thing I thought of was your videos. It was a really special experience. For anyone who might be in the area, it was Daifuku Ramen.
Was it tasty? If the vibe was good and the food was good then I guess the trip was good as well. There used to be quite a few Chinese restaurants in San Francisco that had great ramen but things changed in the past decade (specially with the pandemic and what not) so quite a few closed down or changed to delivery-only to try to reduce costs.
If you get the chance - do it. You will not regret it. I live around the corner from a Ramen shop in Japan - and it doesn't matter how many times I go, it's still an experience. :)
Your shorts bring me such a great feeling of comfort, i could sit here and watch them all day. It's calming, funny, and nostalgic, especially as I spent some time working in Kobe 5 years ago (and still miss it!) Keep up the great work ❤
You always put a smile on my face with the random references to very specific things from my childhood Like Woody with the bowl of cereal in Toy Story 2
Isn't that from the first movie? When Sid uses the magnifying glass to make a burn dot on Woody's head and dear god why do I remember this? It has been years since i watched that
Im a sucker for the shredded mushroom; I dont know what it is about it, but that tender crunch draws every other element together in a perfect palate cleansing bite.
Maaaan. Between the super chill Melee remix, the immaculate, oddly nostalgic vibe you set at the beginning and the incredible looking ramen, I think this might just be my favorite short of yours. Maybe my favorite short period. You're definitely becoming a master of this form of media, keep it up.
Im not a dramatic person but my eyes get slightly teary sometimes how I long for Japan while watching your vids, cant wait for the day to come. Ty for the satisfying vids :)
I have watched so many of this series, as many as I can find. I think this is the first one that concentrated on the PLACE and the FOOD, and didn't waste the short time on video game references, which are lost on me. I know this is a limited perspective, but it was a treat! And on top of that, a dish that locally we can only dream of... possibly to the extent of going out to buy a chicken. I would hasten to this place if I were nearby, it looks serious, economical, just everything you would want in an affordable restaurant! Was it affordable?
there was a spot in akihabara, that had the best Chicken ramen i've ever tried in my life, great broth lovely noods topped with a roasted chicken quarter...easily top 10 in my personal world travels.. i wish i could go back just so i could try to find it by accident again.
I've been watching your videos for a very long time when I realized I haven't subscribed, I was like damn am I that stupid to miss out on such incredible contents?. So I subscribed
I don't understand how people love hot food on hot days, but if you dare suggest eating ice cream or something cold outside of June-July-August people look at you like you have three heads lol
Your videos are so wonderful, I find myself watching them late at night when I wake up. I wish to visit Japan one day and enjoy the cuisine and the culture of the people. Unfortunately I find it kind of disrespectful to visit a country and not understand it's native language. Just a personal opinion of mine. Thank you for the wonderful content though! Enjoy your meals!
The more i watched your vids the more i think abt stealing some money from my brother just to go to japan and eat all those amazing food,u make it look even mo appetizing
Chicken soup has quickly become my favourite. Tonkotsu can get a bit too funky or too rich at times so a lighter bowl of ramen can be much more satisfying.
the temptation to downvote due to the campbell's slander is high....Is it homemade or fancy? No. Is the basic chicken noodle my favorite chicken noodle soup because I'm a picky eater who hates carrots (and even picked out the taste tends to linger in the broth and just....no) and also it was my comfort food as a child and one of the few canned soups Mom found that didn't taste off to me? Absolutely. (/jk love your content)
It's my dream to open up authentic (as I can as a white guy) ramen noodle shop that sells amazing and cost-effective ramen with a 1$ bowl of rice (free for kids) and a free drink (tea) and a little pickled vegetable like kimchi or radish even maybe fish cakes something nice just to treat the customer.
You ever find yourself in Okinawa there’s two places you gotta go. 808 Poke Bowl west coast middle side & pretty much on the opposite side right next to Camp Hansen there a place called White Kitchen. Phenomenal restaurants for like Y1200 👌
If I ever see what this dude looks like one day, I know he will likely look nothing like what his voice sounds like. Which doesn't mean anything at all. But it means something.
Chicken broth ramen is sadly underrated in the US. Hope it catches on as a craze the way tonkotsu broth did.

The key to simple ramen broth is good ingredients. Which means you won't find any in chlorine chicken land.

Love the Kirby music.
I was about to say, anyone that has played enough Kirby games would recognize that series of notes in that order.
The best of Chicken Ramen dish
I love chicken broth ramen, probably more than tonkatsu. The broth isn’t as heavy and it feels cleaner, like I can eat it more often.
*"It's a scorchaa today!!"* xD
Chicken ramen(s) are underrated! They're like fried chicken except they don't get fried 😇
I want to open a place like this. No space for crowds, no oppressive music, just vibe and eat ramen.
