Unboxing and Testing a 70mai PS01 Car Jump Starter and Power Bank

In this video Driveway Dudes Will unboxes and tests the 70mai model PS01 budget car boost/jump starter and power bank.
We bought it from a well known Chinese website and it cost us less than €50 including postage and taxes (currency exchange rate at time of purchase).
It’s looks like a regular power bank that would charge your smartphone or tablet though it is a little bigger and bulkier with claims that it can start any 12V car, van, suv, motorcycle, truck, etc with a dead battery.
Claims by retailer :

Start current 250A, Peak current 600A
Can jump start a 100% dead battery in seconds
Designed to jump start a 12V 4.0L petrol/gasoline or 2.0L diesel engine up to 40 times on a single charge.
Has eight intelligent safety functions, short circuit, over charge, over current, over voltage, over discharge, wrong terminal, etc.
Can operate in extreme weather from -20°C to 60°C.
3 mode LED.
Will tested it and apart from a couple of failed tries due to the crocodile clips not making a good connection to the terminal points it did indeed jump start his Alfa Romeo 146 1.4 T Spark that had a completely dead battery in it.
It was a nice 20°C day so Will could not test it in extreme weather. He did not want to try a reverse polarity connection as we have seen other boost jump boxes fry when trying this. The LED light may be useful in the dark. A bonus would be the usb port to charge your smartphone or tablet when you are driving after jump starting your car, van suv, etc.
Overall conclusion is that after getting a good connection to the battery terminals with the not so good crocodile clips it did indeed jump start a car with a dead battery.
NOTE: If your vehicle has jump points then use those and do not attempt to connect this directly to your battery as you may fry your car electronics.

Never considered one of those USB hand held jump starter packs as they were just too damn expensive.But at less than 50 euro I would definitely consider one now.Having one stashed in the glove box could definitely get you out of pickle. Great demo 👌

The camera didn't record the part where we put a multimeter on the car battery where it showed 0 volts. The only issue we had was making a good connection to the terminals with the crocodile clips but when it did connect and with the aid of the boost feature on the unit the car started first turn of the key
