P.S. he wasn't just born in Albania. He was raised there until the age of 21 or 22 and was decorated weightlifter already. His ancestors hail from Progonat, Tepelenë and then moved to Himara. His family still owns the rock quarries there which are still called "gurishtet e Dhimajve"

Slightly Albanian Greek God. His best friend is my coach, 100% Albanian guy. Pyro Dima. At the junior worlds in Barcelona it was either Pyro or my coach, whoever C&Jed over 200kg got 100K in US Dollars and Greek citizenship. Peace.

These guys are 94-105kg category at what pyrros was probably throwing around in his amateur stage of weightlifting over his head.. considering he snatched 180 @85kg category.. must be a truly remarkable experience having him to give some advice.

I find it hard to believe that the veteran lifters in there will change anything based on 30 minutes of being examined by Pyyros. I mean come on, it's all head knodding to appease him. Maybe the youngins can take something away.
Mike Youssef you can pick up great cues and new ways of thinking from anyone, much less a master like Pyrros! If you ever get a similar opportunity, take it! If we teach the Snatch in about an hour (when being thorough), a man like Pyrros can change your life in 10 minutes!

definitely don't think that's a reasoning for lifts not progressing. Strength (Squats and pulls) with always work to get you stronger, of course mobility and other variables come into play. If your explosiveness is a little weaker, do box jumps or accessories to strengthen and learn it

Yes people are born with more more fast twitch muscles which makes them more explosive, But that does not mean you can't get them. That's what the Olympic lifts are! They are explosive lifts that build fast twitch muscle fibers! But also you must obviously build strength in the squat/pull. Fire that arrogant asshole

Pyrros had a bad technique in jerk. And he paid for it. He should have done jerk with split legs, but he did the swung. Wrong! That is why he lost in his last Olympics. Could have won it easily with the right technique. Our weaknesses eventually catch up with us when we get older...

Pyros is not actually Greek, he used to train me and I have won the Greek championship when I was 18. Very cool guy, and he believes in the strength of the will, not the strength of the body. He is really a perfectionist and I have to say it is one of the moments for me to be proud of Greece.
