This and Judgment too. In Judgment (Shin Amon boss fight), you need to switch styles according to the atmosphere color of the fight arena. Also, the homing laser of the same color will heal you instead.
Blue = Crane style

You know, I never played any of the Yakuza games, yet I suddenly picture a scenario where Kiyru is beating up a bunch of people trying to sabotage her daughter figure's concert. While an upbeat J-Pop music is playing in the backgroud, Kiryu is the rafters kicking ass and bodies falling on the stage as the curtains close.
Funniest part is that smth similar to this happens

Noa is the best Amon, no doubt about it. She's the only one in the clan that actually learns something from her rival. Jo and the others just never learn humility, no matter how many times they get stomped by Kiryu and the others.
Shin amon is 2nd best
Shin only appears to want to fight Yagami out of necessity. In LJ he actually acts pretty friendly towards him.

Yakuza has always been a period piece that tries to purposefully date itself to an era (IE the 80's, 2005, 2010s etc.), so esports in Yakuza genuinely wouldn't be the weirdest thing.

If anyone can tell me how to change/assign abilities or upgrade this mini game I'd appreciate it. I keep losing to this girl because I don't have a single assigned abilities, all I have is 1 Idol Heat so no matter how flawlessly I play I keep losing at end when the Amon girl uses both her idol heats. Im on the finale chapter 4, have gotten to level 21 and did all 48 work jobs, and 2/6 dance battles, and I want to 100% all of Haruka's stuff before going to park 3 to move forward the story. I'm trying to 100% the game before finishing the game in order to have a breeze on legend. Thanks in advance. This game drives me nuts. 0-4 were funnel this ones a major chore

This is a game about the criminal world of Japan.
But also about Idol industry. So basically the same thing.
Basically, Sega placed Project Diva into a Yakuza game.
I haven't reached this part yet but, either I'm high or why tf is the notes a little different here?? Is this hard mode?? Because I sure have been hoping for a hard version of this song. I've played this song's normal mode that I can do it eyes closed and seeing that the notes for this battle is a little different bothers me in a good way. Like I'm excited asf because as a rhythm gamer I always wanted a harder challenge for this songs.

I love the yakuza series, but the whole haruka dance battles feels goofy and out of place and just a way to appeal as a quirky series fanservice. It's fucking cringe tbh
Sorry, I'm afraid you're missing the point. While I agree the reasoning to get Haruka to become an Idol was a bit contrived, so is just about everything that gets Kiryu back into the Tojo's clan business after Yakuza 2, but either way about that... While it's called "Yakuza" this series isn't about the Yakuza, it's about Japan. The culture and the people that make up that culture. Idol's are HUGE in japan so it was actually a fairly natural subject for this series to get to eventually, the seeds for the idea of Haruka becoming an Idol was something that was planted during Yakuza 2. And just like how the Series shows the Dark Side of Organized Crime, and politics, and many other things, Haruka's story as an Idol is used to show that past the picture perfect world of idols, beneath that surface it's a ruthless and cutthroat a business as any other. Yakuza 5 shows the positives and negatives of Idol's the same way it does everything else.
It's a shame if the subject wasn't something you found appealing, but I found Haruka's part of the game to easily be the most interesting since it showed me an aspect of Japan I wasn't familiar with, and showed me why it was such a cultural cornerstone of their country.
@@Director_Bisonthis, even haruka's idol part is related to the yakuza. I liked that they showed how nasty the idol bussiness and how weird some of its fans can be, its realistic compared to other games about idols that only show the positive parts of it.
