USMLE STEP 1: DRUGS OF ABUSE w/ Questions. This video reviews the basics of drugs of abuse for step 1. This has the common drugs, though I would strongly recommend you take an extra long look with Marijuana as it is becoming more and more mainstream. Hope this helps...

I didn’t know about the “abdominal discomfort relieved by hot showers” but I knew “ conjunctival injection- blood shot eyes” is Marijuana. So I picked answer based on that. Thank you for additional information, Sir.

    Hello Dr Randy Neil!!!!
My name is Umer Hayat Ahmed Shairf, a medical student from Karachi, Pakistan. Im currently preparing for my step 1 exam which is up coming very soon. One of my work friends told me about your channel. I have been watching GIT and Biochem videos of yours and they have given me a lot of learning and wisdom. Recently I encountered a question that made me go bonkers in alcohol W/D diagnosis.
You have been of immensely great help. Thank you so so much for these Dr Randy. Wish me luck for my exam as well!!.

Could you give us a solid strategy to reinforce long term memory? I understand it’s different for everyone but then if you had to do it yourself, how would you? Thanks in advance.

Hot showers as a treatment are pretty interesting. It is not well understood why they help but a theory is that marijuana causes thermoregulatory dysfunction and raises the core temp. Hot showers help dilate the skin vessels and dissipate the heat thereby restoring the core temp and relieving pain symptoms

Can you pls answer this question?
Sudden withdrawal from which of the following substnces is most likely to produce a life threatening syndrome in a person dependent on that substance?
    A) Amphetamine
    B) Cocaine
    C) Heroin
    D) Methylphenidate
    E) Sorcobarbitol
The answer they have given is C. But isnt that heroin intoxication that gives overdose death?
