On the topic of shielding, I prefer aluminium foil (copper changes the tone, IMO). Whichever you use, it's important to cover the whole pickguard, because strumming over bare areas with a pick can cause a kind of static-electric charge that comes through the speaker.

We all have our preferences lol And yes on single coil pickups you have to cover the pick guard to create a proper faraday cage 🎸have a good one man 🎸

Thanks for the video... Do you overlap the tape or just make sure the edges touch when putting it on the pickguard?

I overlap it a little but on the pick guard you don’t want a double layer to be to thick when reinstalling it
