    I have Js32 Dinky with a Floyd rose special. The first thing I changed was the pot metal saddles with stainless steel. I put the same tuners on it. Put copper tape on it. Replaced the nut, tremolo block and the screw on bar with a push-pull. Replaced pots and switch and finally put Seymore Duncan Invaders in. I strongly recommend to beginners is to learn how to work on your guitar. There are plenty of UA-cam videos that you can learn from. Nice video. Just subscribed.

    As a beginner to guitars, looking to learn from others how to revive jalopy guitars this is invaluable. Thanks for explaining things clearly and well. And the sound of those pickups man - knock outs. The part that always confuses me is the copper Faraday cage. So I've been taught that the electronic waveforms vibrations resonate with the wood type the body is made of even in electric guitars. And a synergy effect happens. If you install a copper faraday cage to reduce unwanted noise or feedback then you reduce the waves to travel and resonate within the wood body by 3/4. They go in one direction only. If all this is true, then I guess a wood that's subpar like plywood or balsa wouldn't have resonated well in the first place anyways, and your fine. But if you have alder up to better quality wood bodies - do you still install the copper faraday cage?

    • @KWM1972
      @KWM1972 11 днів тому

      The faraday cage is mainly for single coil pickups there is a magnetic field when you plug in your guitar so since there is only one coil single coil pickups have more noise. And the faraday cage basically contains the noise and keep out outside frequency’s in the pickups and electronics. so if you have hum-bucker pickups you don’t need shielding because there are 2 coils This cancels out and they are much quieter. As for the electronics you should always have a cage because they are sensitive to outside frequency’s and the cage helps shield and keep noise out this helps the electronics stay quieter. But yea your on the right track the cage helps a lot. thanks for the comment i hope this helps have a wonderful day 🎸

      You do realize that China is a Nuclear Power? That CNC Machineing has LEVELED The Playing Field,? Tone wood Acoustic? Wood 🪵 matters in a 🎻 Violin of which I also play as well as guitar 🎸 🎵 and Piano 🎹... ⚡ 🎸 Electric Guitar Sound Wave is actually first an electric signal that goes through the signal chain. The Strings vibrate over the pickups they pick up the vibration thus sending it through the chain .. This goes all the way until it reaches the 🔊. Speakers Which Vibration from the speaker cons causes a disturbance in the AIR THUS A SOUND WAVE 🌊 this is what you hear. Acoustic in an electric guitar can only be heard a few feet away. Wood matters in a violin due to it's SMALL SIZE SO THE THIN TOP VIBRATION Of this note the sound post the bridge the F holes the tail pies & EBONY fret board making a difference. . No electric. An electric violin typically solid body not always but typically. The bigger an instrument is say a Parlor guitar vs a Jumbo guitar assuming not an Acoustic Electric Guitar just acoustic one. THE WOOD MAKES LEES A DIFFERENCE AS THE SIZE INCREASES DUE THE INCREASE IN THE BODY THUS MORE SOUND IS PRODUCED. Cheers 🍻🥃🥃🎸🎵🎶🎶🎶

    On the topic of shielding, I prefer aluminium foil (copper changes the tone, IMO). Whichever you use, it's important to cover the whole pickguard, because strumming over bare areas with a pick can cause a kind of static-electric charge that comes through the speaker.

    I have 2 and worked on a third. All needed serious nut slot work...they were at .030"+!! I had to flip the red and yellow wires to fix the pickup issue. After a full setup- awesome guitar.

      Yea there’s room for improvement on the set up and wiring. but I mean for 80 bucks it’s alright u like the Davison better I am thinking about reviewing there Strat too. It looks good on paper but it has a coil split on the bridge pickup which will prolly be worthless take care

      @@KWM1972 that is one budget guitar that I have not put my hands on. I agree though at $80 it's a steal once you get it all set up. It's a fairly unique configuration too especially at that price point.

    You really did a great job. I was born in the 60s I'm going into the 70s I was able to see my fair share of guitars. The way you did that really looks like it could have been from the 60s. At some point you might want to build another one and video it. Those videos receive a lot of views. Looking forward to your next video.

    I made the best partscaster I've been using for 6 months (and changing it up) and it has been the best guitar I've owned. It has not been the cheapest, however, it plays the way I want and sounds the way I want. 1. I started with an Alder body HSH cut for Floyd Rose from guitar fetish. Neon Yellow. Color was not the focal point, I can paint it whatever I want to later, but it doesn't matter to me. $95.00 shipped with a coupon code. 2. Neck from China. $74.00 shipped. Solid maple unfinished. 3. Seymore Duncan 78's. Eddie Van Halen-esque sound. I used .047uf 400v capacitor on the tone and a treble bleed. $220 set 4. D'Addario locking tuners 6 in line black. Don't need em with the double locking system, but I wanted the black color. I've changed these around, and always stick with them. $65.00 5. Floyd Rose system from a Squier Contemporary (I replaced it on the Squeir with a EVH that I salvaged) that works much better than the EVH system. I'm not paying $200-300 for a real Floyd when I do not need it. 6. EVH Fender 500k pots. $24 7. 5 way switch from Musiclily or Kaish....I forgot which and it doesn't matter really. $12.00 8. Fleor single coil middle pickup that just does nothing really. One day soon, I'll redo it again with a HH pickguard and re-wire it. $20.00 All of this ticks my boxes and costs way less than a Players Stratocaster....I play it every day so far for the past 6 months, just started laying down tracks for some new songs with it. I recommend more people staying away from giving these greedy companies money for overrated guitars. Gibson and Fender both make garbage these days.
