Dear Sir ! Great tutorial ! I just found that the tcon left flat cable on my Samsung TV was sort of "chewed" and need to be replaced. When I turned on the TV with only the right side flat cable, voilà ! The image was perfect on the right side (the left side showing a pure white square). Thank you! I tried this on my samsung LED, un55b7100wf, and it works! I did everything that you've told but got stuck on the tape part. At first I cut a 1" tape but the screen has no color to it. Then I tried a 1/4 inch tape and adhered it o the left side again. It works! You have to wrap the tape across to the side of the expose pins too!

just inspecting, in this kind of tv, they place the speaker near the speaker near the electronic part so if you are using it for a long time, the tendency is the connection will loose up, and this tape serves to tighten up the contact.

I am using this procedure, but it is not working. But in testing the 2 sides separately, one side looks fine (rt side) but the left is blank! Also, a comment on the "covering contacts with tape", in my case, the tape is going on the backside of the cable, which has no contacts. It adds a bit of thickness to the ribbon, and the clamp thus puts a bit more pressure on the contacts to help insure good contact. So I really need to know the meaning of the blank rt. side. sorry to this! but its not the poor contact of the ribbon that causes this problem but rather a short circuit in the panel circuit board!By putting tape on the left side , you disable the shorted portion of the circuit..I have done study about this double image problem which is very common!I hope this will help !

Hi First I tried to put tape on many side without succes . I fix it by cleaning contact on cables and it is working fine , lines and double image disapear . one of my tv is same as your case, i replace the time control (t-con board) and fixed this problem, its really depend if the issue is your connector or the t-con board should be replace.

i am having the same double-image on my Samsung LA 32C 450EI my problem is there is no left and right division on it..the wire from the audio video board goes to the bottom of the frame......can not reach it....any idea of how to get over this problem???
Well done! I like your approach much better than another video that involved using a rolling pin and baseball batting skills. I already did the "lines through the display" fix using pressure on the bonding contacts to the LCD, and it worked. Also had issues with blown caps on the power supply keeping the TV from turning on. That fix worked also. Now this will be fix #3 for my lemon of a TV from Samsung. It's been a fun ride though, and I learned a lot. If nothing else, to buy an LG instead of Samsung from now on. lol
I tried this on my Samsung 32" Smart TV that started having a double image. It is a single panel screen. It appeared to be working if a very small piece of tape (1 - 2 mm) was used on the left leading edge but before i could go futher, i shorted the ribbon cable with the scissors i was using by mistake (lightly touched the ribbon cable) and the screen no longer shows a picture, nor do i have a red 'on' light. I assume i have blown one of the micro transistors and will now be shipping the TV, together with a large box of fresh shit, to the local Samsung dealer in Singapore. Of course i will not use my real name or address. I think it is buggered now and i am helpless to fix it. The set only cost $500 and it is clear it started to fail because Samsung sells garbage. The TV is a 2012 model for f*cks sake. I would kick the screen in with a hammer and shower the parts onto Samsung's 'service shop' onsite but am trying to think of a better way of complaining, such as posting on Faecebook that nobody should ever buy the shit TVs that Samsuck makes!

you can use scotch tape but make sure it is not too thick.

in sony tv the second ribbon is under the plate. but I try to fix this problem as directed. but it isn't work with sony bravia.

yes its easy to remove, gently lift the plastic lock of the connector.

you might need a small adjustment on the position of the tape.
