amen we do, we do. the world needs his msg. there is soo much power in the msg that he preached and taught. There is a strength, a power in christian peace, that when demonstrated without restraint, without malice Evil, the enemy cannot prevail in its presence..
He knew that, he was a prophet of peace, and truth...
My family were those “poor application whites” he marched and spoke for in the battle against poverty... I have tears now, as it was the first time i ever heard him speak that phrase. god bless, prayers for your peace and security.

To see and hear Daddy King wail and mourn his son is a loss few of us have felt or could bear. Truly it expressed the deep grief of a nation seemingly robbed of one of its greatest progenies. It brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat to witness, even decades later. That loss is deep, and yet we are the privileged few to carry on his legacy in how fully we choose to live our lives, dedicated to the plunging forward of justice and speaking for those who are voiceless.

LoveTruth86 you make it sound like he was naive and didn’t understand the danger and threat posed by white supremacy. He was no fool and he wasn’t “obsessed” in the way that you suggest. Achieving black freedom has to be approached from many angles and many tactics have to be employed. Infighting and condescension because we disagree with each other’s tactics is what is problematic.

    • @LoveTruth86
      @LoveTruth86 4 роки тому +1

Olaoluwa Bode-Omoleye You missed the point completely. The combination between that statement and the story told by Harry Belafonte speaks to a deeper mentality regarding race, intimacy and desire that I think is problematic. A large part of why many black people cannot view themselves as autonomous and empowered is because of an fixation with white goodness, desirability and humanity. It is not so much about approach or tactic. It is about one’s mentality. It is an observation I noticed and something that I noticed in my experiences in day to day life as well. It needs to be unpacked more.

Dont worry friend for God sent this man to help the world and establish brotherhood with all men. Just as Martin Luther King jr. was capable of so much, so do we have such great potential and even greater potential in fact, infinite potential! We are all great limitless souls! More great men and women will come to establish virtue and brotherhood in its rightful place like Mr. King did. Don't worry, God knows what Hes doing in His great play. The next great being lies in all of us, who will do the work for the world is our choice. It helps tremendously to practice Kriya Yoga meditation as its a very advanced and helpful meditation. I vouch for its wonderful results as i have done it myself for almost 2 years and its completely transformed me. I am so happy and at peace. It's all done by God, by the grace of God.

More radical than most people who are thought to be radical, or think themselves to be radical. For to be radical is to go to the roots of things, the foundations. And it is change on that level that he sought, that he was committed to.

Nothing BLM stands for us antithetical to what Dr. King stood for. Take your head out of your ass. You know not of what you speak.
Keep regurgitating the same talking pints. Dr. King was treated by whites the same way whites treat BLM now. He was a threat and “the most dangerous Negro in America.” What whites say about BLM now is no different than what they said about Dr. King then because it is their go-to whenever their power seems threatened overtly. In hindsight, you preferred his non-violence to other methods of fighting for equal rights and it suited your purpose to embrace him posthumously because he left your power structures just as they were and allowed you to give a little without actually giving up much (as Dr. King himself said - true change would cost whites and this country too much and they aren’t willing to oblige). Your flailing against BLM will only ever been seen in the historical context of what whites have always done in trying to vilify any black group or person who dares to shake up the system to make actual change.
Your fear is transparent and luckily we have enough historical examples of white fear and fragility to know how to deal with you: we no longer give a shit what you try to say or do and luckily, many whites are wising up to your own bull and standing with us against you.

His sermons and calls for peaceful settlement of conflicts, good and light resonate in the hearts of people, regardless of their race and to this day. The words of his last moving speech, titled "I have seen the promised Land," are especially prophetic in light of the fact that he was killed the next day. This is truly a Great documentary and homage to the legacy of Dr. King. I'm not sold on the claim that Lyndon B. Johnson was as "down" as he was made out to be when Dr. King was taken from us though. It had been proven that the federal government assassinated him once he began using his influence to fight against the Vietnam War, and establishing a national campaign to combat poverty. The fight against the war was perhaps the greatest determining factor when one considers the greed involved within the military industrial complex. Long Live Dr. King's legacy and message, and hopefully, educational programs such as this can inspire a desire to protest any injustices that stir the spirit of God's children.

True story: Years ago, I was teaching a 5th grade class, and on this particular day, we learned the word, "martyr." I told them, that in my opinion, Martin Luther King was a perfect example of a martyr, because it was evident from his final speech that he knew he had very limited time. I asked them to take out their desk dictionaries and look up the word. Lo and behold, and unbeknownst to me, the entry immediately preceding 'martyr' was..."Martin Luther King, Jr. Day." Chew on that for a moment - of the tens of thousands words in the book, MLK followed his very definition, "martyr." There's something bigger at play, folks!

Dr. King was a grace and a mercy extended to America. Look at how a blessing of such an immense magnitude was treated.

    This was great..
I thought i saw all existing footage's of
    Dr King.
The makers of this film get extra props for
    including the recently deceased
    Elijah Cummings.

The 10 people and yourself don't know the difference between Elijah Cummings and John Lewis who was the actual person featured in this documentary and who transitioned a little over a month ago ( July 17th 2020)! May they both rest in eternal peace 🙏🏾

@@wegotthis973 The 10 people and myself realize it was a typo on my part and do know the difference. That why you're the only one.
      Relax.
      However you are correct.
The two legends always reminded me of each other, they do look a like each other and both "transitioned " as you say this year. Sorry if my typo and the ten likes caused you stress...but you can gtfoh with all that negativity.
