I wasn't expecting to see Atelier Rorona Plus on first place ! This is the Atelier game I'm playing at the moment and enjoying every aspects of the gameplay, it is trully wonderfull, I'm happy to see this game rewarded here
Somehow discovered this series a month ago lol. Bought Atelier Iris 1 and 2 for ps2. Just beat the first one last night and it honestly became one of my all time favorite jrpgs. Right in the middle of Iris 2, and it's showing tons of promise as well :) I'll probably order the 3rd and last part of the trilogy within a couple weeks
For me top 5: 5.Atelier Rorona DX, 4. Atelier Iris 2 3. Atelier Shallie, 2. Atelier Escha and Logy 1. Atelier Meruru. It was awesome to see someone put Sophie on there. I haven't played Sophie yet, but this makes me excited for when I do play Atelier Sophie.
This top 5 list could use a few more specific reasons per entry as to why they're above the other Atelier games. Like with Iris, the main two reasons were that it was the first Atelier to come to the west, which seems like more of a nostalgia/personal reason and its memorable characters, which is a good reason, but as someone who hasn't played Atelier, IDK if that's something really unique to this game. But the brief plot synopsis is appreciated. Since I haven't played Atelier yet, I'll keep this list in mind when eventually picking my first few games. It's pretty crazy how much each Atelier fan's top 5 varies...(based on some videos I've seen before this and the comment section)
Atelier meruru is best and cute and the most badass special skill finisher skill of sterk. But for me i love escha my waifu , atelier escha and logy is my favorite because this is the only atelier games that have a romantic couple, sorry for my bad English
Shallie and Sophie are 2 of the worst Atelier games imo My Top 5: 1. Mana Khemia 2. Atelier Totori 3. Atelier Escha & Logy 4. Atelier Rorona 5. Atelier Iris 2 I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with my opinion too!
@@christi6934 I found the cast of Sophie were all too bland and nice, there was nothing particularly fun or interesting about them, no spice. Shallie was similar, Shallistera and her side were all pretty dull, Shallotte's was a bit better but it failed to tie up the plotlines of the series in any satisfying ways.
@@Sieghardt I see. I've only ever played Ryza and the games are on sale now and it's sooo hard to decide which game to get. There are too many of them haha. I'm hesitating between getting the Mysterious trilogy, Dusk (story sounds interesting, but I'm afraid of the time limits), or Lulua (no time limits and it's open world). Luckily I still have some time to decide!
Hey Mark! If this were Top 10, what would be in that list? Atelier Ryza is my first. I was always wondering which Atelier I'd try out next and knowing Dusk series is coming out soon.
I can't say I agree, especially with Sophie (which, along with Firis, are the low point of the franchise in my mind), but at least with Atelier peoples lists tend to be more varied which I enjoy. I think my top five would be Totori, Meruru, Ayesha, Lydie & Suelle and Lulua. I don't really have an order for them. I feel like Lulua got kind of snubbed due to Ryza and all of the newcomers. Ryza, which I do like, but it does feel like it got really propped by being the first decent entry point for new players since Mysterious started. I liked some of the core changes but the plot, characters and content suffered. I am hoping the sequel fixes some of the issues.
Wasn’t expecting a Lydie & Suelle on someone’s top, but excellent choices. This series definitely varies between fan’s favorite which make it nice to talk about.
Personally while I liked ryza it's easily my least favourite of the post ps3 ateliers except maybe firis which had some big issues especially with the star system for synthesis and the hints to unlock new recipes My top 5 would be in no particular order Lydie & Suelle, lulua, shallie, escha and logy, and totori
Dose atelier rorona have a time limit? If so its not for me, i am not a fan of getting rushed, to much stress :-) i think its on the swich, its eather that or ryza
Nearly all Atelier games have time limit, but there are few that have no such thing, like Atelier Sophie, Lydie & Suelle, the 2 Ryza games and Lulua (Lulua is the only game in the Arland series to NOT have a time limit, Atelier Rorona, Totori and Meruru are part of the Arland series).
well i semi agree with the list, first i take out aliter ryza, not take me wrong is not a bad game and good entry point but at same time is not a great game, the difficulty of the others make it not a good entry point but story is way better in the others. 1. i agree atelier rorona plus., 2. already said no i think for me is atelier shallie 3. well probably he didn't want game of same trilogy but i have to say that atelier lulua is very good and deserve a spot here 4. atelier sophie is good and probably could be here too sadly from mysterious saga have to select atelier Lydie and Suelle. 5. atelier iris could be here actually even atelier iris 3 grand phastam sadly my spot is for atelier ayesha . Atelier totori and meruru are good very good, sadly atelier totori mechanics are too old for enter a top for me and atelier meruru lack a little in world build. Still arland series is the best saga for me
I think it's a little misleading to put Rorona at #1 based on nostalgia when it was the most simple of all the 3d Atelier games and the gameplay has improved sooooo much in the following games. Rorona was as simple as an RPG could possibly be and honestly pretty boring.
Ah, finally someone else loves Rorona 🥲 I saw so much negativity around it due to the time limit. I played through the entire Mysterious trilogy first and then jumped into Rorona, so it was my first time limit game (I don't really count Firis). But for me, it was perfectly paced and very enjoyable! The cast was really funny! Definitely one of my favorites.
A lot of the negativity around Rorona comes from the original version, which had stricter time limits, crashed every now and then, and Rorona herself did not have mp (synthesis used hp). The plus/dx version made massive improvements to the point where it is almost a different game.

This is a hot take video. Pretty convinced that you cannot find two fans with exactly the same 5 favorite games.
It's just an opinion piece

Please check script at 0:41.
We can dream! Thanks for the correction :)
@@NoisyPixelNews should've been a PS2PS4 classic on PSN ...

FUnny how the top 2 Atelier games are available on Switch. I'll try to get Ryza, and sometime next year, I'll get Rorona
Rorona has a pretty rare version on PS3 with the Plus enhancements added. Try to find that one :)

I've played Sophie, Firis & Rorona so far and they've been great (except Firis which is meh).
I won't play any after Firis since no dub = no buy.
place ryza at 2, how could she be there
