Ran with mine for the first time yesterday, bought these on the strength of your review and loved them. First time using poles and they are certainly the way forward.
As always, very interesting video! Congratulation again for the TDS. For any race idea: there are a few good ones in Quebec! I know, it is far from UK, but if you want to find good ones, QMT110 (Quebec Mega Trail: the 110 is for 110 km, but there is also 160 km and 80 km) or UTHC 125 (Ultra Trail Harricana, 125 km, also offering 80 km and 65 km) are nice and challenging, UTCC 113 km (Ultra trail des Chic-Chocs) is a real challenge. I did the UTCC 62 km and it was the toughest race I ever did. Or, in October, we have the Bromont Ultra, very beautiful path and views. Anyway, Stay safe and keep on running ! :)
I'm signed up to the Hardmoors White Horse marathon in June, I'd highly recommend the Hardmoors races if you haven't tried them. Most are around the Cleveland way and are stunning. I'm also running the Giants Head Marathon in June.. I may have over committed!
Still using their adjustable poles, and are fantastic.. and they’ve survive the occasion catch in a rock hole too.. their gear is at a budget price, but a very premium standard… On the subject of races you can do.. how about the Ultra trail Snowdonia races by utmb? You can give us a comparison to the big boy n girl races of chamonix 😬 Ps: I’m hopefully doing it May 2023 it’ll be my first official 50k and second mountain run.. crossing my fingers for successful training this time 😂 poor old legs during my first mountain run, 27mile marathon last July. Oof 🤣
Those poles will make a great Crimbo pressie I reckon 👍 Races for next year… Serpent 100k Maverick exmoor ultra Svp100 (my local) this is one you could look at if you’re about mid august and not in chamonix next year mate
Thanks for the spreading awareness of affordable options. One of the reasons your channel is one of my faves! Quick question...What belt are you using for pole storage?
I use the either Salomon quiver on my 12 Set or lately I've been testing having them off my pack and using the Salomon Sense Pro belt but I actually think the Pulse belt would work better as it has wider straps.
No problem, thanks for watching! The belt was a Compressport Free belt Pro. I've had one for years now and it's a great bit of running kit, I use it all the time! 👌 Hope this helps 😊
As a subscriber I watch and like all your videos. In your TDS training and racing videos, as well as in this pole review video, the way you hold poles is not optimal. Harriers' pole guide video that you link to, which I have watched many times in the past, talks clearly about it.
Thanks Ella, really glad you're enjoying the channel and thanks for subscribing. Like a lot of things when it comes to running, it's personal. I obviously know the way your meant to hold running poles and I've tried it many times but it doesn't really work for me. Also a lot of clips in the videos are me stopping, putting the camera down capturing the clip and moving on, so I wouldn't judge the way I hold them from those clips. I'm not trying to show people how to use their poles on my videos, that's why I linked the brilliant Harrier video. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
For me nothing comes even close to Leki's strap system. It gives me so much more control over the poles and I don't actually have to grip the poles. At least here in the EU they also sell significantly below MSRP.
They look great Loyd, although I'm docking you some points for saying 'ZEE' instead of 'ZED' 😄. I think the feature of clipping in the mud basket is very clever. One thing worth mentioning is that tips can wear down and are they replaceable? I have the Leki Carbon Micro with the gauntlet system. I really like them but would be interested to try a different type, as these are the only poles I've ever had.
I'm sorry Ian the tips are not replaceable, but we have really heavy duty rubber tips to protect the spikes on tarmac and if used on trails and grassy terrain the spikes dont wear down as they're carbide.
Hey Loyd thanks for this wonderful review. If my height is 170cm (around 5 feet 7) the correct pole fixed length size should be 115cm but if only 120cm is available is that OK?. Sorry I'm new to using poles so I assume getting 120cm is better option than the 110cm
Glad you enjoyed the video Gary. Ideally you'd want to go for the correct high but I'm sure you'd get away with the 120's, definitely don't go shorter! Hope this helps and you enjoy your poles 👍 Loyd
Thanks Brexit... No shipping to Europe. Is there any reseller in Europe or this is an exclusivity for British people 😁 thanks for the review, the product looks very well built.
I'm in the USA and have them in my cart... OUCH! $33 shipping on a $100 order :-( I love to support a small company and I understand shipping costs, but that's a bite.
@@andycleary We can't keep up with demand in the UK so that's why we haven't expanded to EU, there's too many issues since brexit having to register for tax in each country, dealing with logistics around post, customs, and then offering a decent returns service. When we do it well do it properly but at the the moment it doesn't make sense to split our stock between more markets and run out faster unfortunately, sorry about that. A lot of people use a forwarding service for Ireland and seems to work ok.
@@wk633 sorry Richard, we just charge the price of Royal Mail international tracked and signed, we don't make money on postage. We've been looking at a local us fulfilment option which will give people faster and cheaper shipping to us but at the moment we only have stock for the UK. Will be able to offer it as we grow and can split to another market.
They look nice and the price is great! But I love my 3ful t1 z-pole. No other manufacturer beats there weight. But after my last 17.5h tour i had a little blister. I have to admit that.
Sorry to hear that! I've got everything crossed for you, keep up the fight and I'll see you on the start line of the CQ next year 🏃♂️💪 Thanks for watching 🙏
Evadict (Decathlon) running poles are lighter and a little cheaper. I wondered about the "zee" and watched a couple of Harrier's videos - they say "zed"! Sorry, but the Americanism really grates...
I did see that Decathlon make a carbon pole but I haven't tested those out so I'm not sure if they are the same quality? 🤔 I've always called them "Z" poles because that's what I've always called them? Does it really matter Dave! 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching 🙏
Hi dave, with our discount code on first orders were the same price as decathlon and I think our poles are actually much nicer :) we also try to do much more for our customers in relation to pole support and set up

Another great and exceptional value product from Harrier. Think I might get some of these for next year's Spine Summer Sprint.
Thank you Stu :) they have been an exciting product to design and launch
Good morning Run4adventure and all the runners from 🇪🇸. Thanks for this information Loyd. Here is my like. A nice weekend for everyone. ⛰🏃♂️☀️

I asked Harrier if they had any I could buy before UTMB Nice (in September) and they said they hadn't - can I borrow yours? 😆
