Don't worry amers if you're born too late. That's why UA-cam is a blessing for the rest of DM devotees like us who are too young to remember and see these. We owe million thanks to the older devotees who put effort in uploading these clips. Cheers!!
You can totally hear how Alan has worked his magic on this later version as compared to the original speak spell recording. A good demonstration of his influence on the sound of DM post '82
Lucky enough to be in high school at the Hollywood Palladium to see Depeche Mode during these early days. I’m 50 now. Do the math. Good times. Imagine having all the early DM albums on cassette tape? Haha
This is one of many of Depeche Mode's hidden gems...this could have been a big hit! Others include Ghost, Surrender, Newborn, Stjarna, Light, Dangerous, just to name a few...They've had a hard time separating the a-sides from the b-sides especially on the latest 2 albums!
heard this version first and completely fell in love with it. Only years later I found it on the'Speak and Spell" CD. Love how the bass line changes from the third verse on.

Best band of the 80s by a mile and an amazing experience seeing them perform live back innthen8 Best band of the 80s and an amazing experience seeing them perform live
@zombiecinema Yes, without Wilder's producing touch some of the Depeche Mode feeling has been lost. The latest albums are good but not in the class of the ones in which Wilder was still onboard.
Bonus tracks on 1988 CD re-release: Mute / Cdstumm5 "Dreaming of Me" 4:03 "Ice Machine" 4:05 "Shout!" 3:46 "Any Second Now" 3:08 "Just Can't Get Enough (Schizo Mix)" 6:41 "Shout!" (from the b-side of the "New Life" single) is listed on the CD and all subsequent releases as "Shout", without the exclamation mark.
+drecksheep No, I do not want to go back in time. But is it not better just to stay young as we were then in our hearts! Enjoy 80s music every day and never ever age!!!!
just one of my favourite depeche songs. Just huge. nigh on 30 years since I fell in love with it. The 12" version was simply a replay obsession and the live version trumps it.
I was born too early, say some people... but the music at the concerts covers a LOT of territory... you might get what you're looking for!! See them next year if you can... the shows are amazing!!
Good song, I want to brake away with DM!! :) Dave is so energetic in his dancing! I would have loved to have gone to their concert's in that time, but when your a young kid in the 80's, you didn't get to do everything your older sibling did!
Some songs just work better live for some reason... I agree with you 100% ... live in Hamburg proved that synth bands could command the same energy and warmth as a guitar based band.
I was there, the first time I ever saw the best band in the world ever live,!!!!
Mr Alan Wilder is Depeche Mode Wizard Genio Extraordinary Performance 👌
The best version live of SHOUT!
Depeche Mode ❤️
The best depeche mode
Ardent fan for 40 plus years and I'd never heard of this song. Are you kidding me? Awesomeness.
It was on a b side. Such a good song 🎵
Really?
😮😮😮
i love watching Alan's hands playing his keyboard parts. neat

U mnie troszkę odwrotnie
Better than studio version. Because we can hear Dave's voice loud & clearly
Radio Voice!
This concert in hamburg was the best. Great sound, great show.
AWES😍ME!!!! 😎💚❤️

all this praise of Alan, it takes 2 persons to replace him, and still doesn't come close
You can totally hear how Alan has worked his magic on this later version as compared to the original speak spell recording. A good demonstration of his influence on the sound of DM post '82
Miss u mister Wilder

Imagine having all the early DM albums on cassette tape? Haha
I do.............
Only 43, but my best friends were Depeche Mode cassettes and a Sony walkman!
Mate, it's maths, not math. For some reason that gets me every time I hear it, or see it written.
On DM we can agree.
The energy, the strangeness, a magnetic and attractive Dave Gahan shouting like an electric little figurine
That was my first ever concert :-) Great memories!
To jest jeden z lepszych koncertów jaki kiedykolwiek oglądałam!
Jest moc! Jest energia! 😁💪🏻
Real potential song !! Such a shame it has been forgotten...
not by me it hasn't
Yo no la he olvidado.
God exists and played keyboards on Depeche Mode from 1982 until 1994.
fuck yeah!
Javier Juarez love your comment😍
Javier not only keyboards, but also drums, piano, bass guitar etc.!!
He also wrote some of their Songs. He is one Talented but underappreciated guy.
The truth! Alan Wilder is master of the sound!
They were such beautiful babies!! And they grew into such amazing men... LOVE this!!!
this the best version of this song which I ever heard!! amazing..
i love when Dave spins!, I saw DM for the first time in las Vegas this past September, when i saw Dave spin, i freaked out! Dave still has the moves!
Dave unvelibevel!!! Alan fantastic!!!
Just love DM sooooooo very much! This epic voice of Dave and the electric rithms!
I agree! the bestest forever and ever
Some Great Reward.
My favorite era of the band.
Great video. Great song. Great voice...
the vibe of this live version is so amazing!
If only "Shout" and "Icemachine" had been on the "Speak & Spell" album. Instead of "What's Your Name?" and "I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead".
ISWIWD is a bop and you know it
Or freaking 'Boys say go!'
marketing
That's a hard yes on "What's Your Name?", but I kinda like "I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead".
@@Vsevolod3788 What? Boys Say Go is awesome.
This music video brings me back to my childhood! Where Dave was my role model and "older brother"!

Amazing performance and a great time for this band and electronic music in general.
Mr Alan Wilder on keys\synth.

Wilder,Wilder,Wilder!
I know! SO awesome! I love that man...
Ou, yes. Alan - god ot sounds🎼🎶🎹👑
heard this version first and completely fell in love with it. Only years later I found it on the'Speak and Spell" CD. Love how the bass line changes from the third verse on.
My favourite song from this performance!Love it..
Whoa! What rare footage. Dave was rock-in the crowds already! What a honey!
She was silent trying to be
Like the girl who acted on the TV
Always knowing when to say
Wishing for a moment so that they could see
Staring in the night
A picture in my room
And I think that she knew her lines
Break away tonight
I wanna hold your hand
We've got to get it right
We've got to understand
Carefully watching waiting as I
Stood upon the back streets and we start to play
I was screaming louder as the
Curtains fall between us in a twisted way
Staring in the night
A picture in my room
And I think that she knew her lines
Break away tonight
I wanna hold your hand
We've got to get it right
We've got to understand
Placing all the questions in the
Minutes of a game we won so long ago
Dangerous and beautiful the
Radio transmission that I have to know
You could never run
You could never stay
And I think you belong to me
Break away tonight
I wanna hold your hand
We've got to get it right
We've got to understand
V. Clarke
OMG. Awesome video. The 80s will never die!!!
Alan Wilder + Emulator II.
Name a more iconic duo, I'll wait..
"Shout" shout, let it all out. I've got it somewhere on an old special record. Must find it, so good.
Tears for fears tiene una canción llamada Shout.
super wersja, te wstawki klawiszowe Wildera na początku nadal wywołują ciarki, a przecież to tylko 2 dźwięki :)
