As someone who enters road races, I hate these creeps who think they can bag someone simply because you're both running. I've legit had slow runners try to harass me into underperforming so that they can "have a chance." If they stick to run clubs, cool, because then everyone is either of the same mind frame or can just join a different run club or start their own. Races are harder to organize and should be kept in the mind frame of enjoying the competition not bagging someone.
